Amina squeezed Valentin back as he embraced her. Her heart was beating like crazy with joy and her eyes were clearly glittering with the desire for adventure. And the fact that the same fire was burning in her friends only spurred her on. “Thank you, thank you. Oh, enough, I know, I know.” With a feigned modesty and touch, she placed her hand on her chest and waved the other hand majestically as she received her praise. Then she grinned at her friends and made room for them to get into position. Crap, why had she not tried something cool like that?

Valentin, of course, didn't hesitate for a second, but sprinted off and jumped elegantly onto his shield, followed by Slava's circus-worthy pirouette.
"Woop Woop! Show us what you got!" Her trained cheering voice rang through the stairwell as she spurred the white seeker and the former keeper on. Both of them seemed to have an easy time - Amina wasn’t surprised. They were quidditch champs after all.

After her two friends had been so creative, Amina definitely wanted to keep up. And an idea formed in her head as she watched them go. “A M A Z I N G!” She yelled down as Valentin jumped so easily off his shield, making space for Slava, who had shown off with a creative start as well. While Val’s dismount looked so easy that Amina just assumed he hadn’t planned to do the second turn, Slavas looked rather involuntary.

The young Bulgarian couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re right, Slava, that beauty and elegance is hard to top.” In pretended desperation, she threw her hands in the air and shook her head in surrender.
"Any yet, I will try! And even if I fail, I will at least look beautiful.” She mimicked his hair flip from before and gave him a teasing look. Then she turned directly to Val, who held his shield in his hand. "Hey, Vayla, can you use your shield to prepare the way for me down the last flight?" She wouldn't explain further, she knew he understood her. They were a well-rehearsed team. He would know the exact timing and be able to gauge her well enough to make everything perfect. She trusted him blindly.

With an excited whoop, she hopped back to her shield, ready to show what she was made of, as the youngest contestant stormed past her to the stairs. Amina clapped wildly above her head as she walked to her own shield. "Yeah, Luci! Goooooo!"

Not waiting any longer, she carefully placed her shield at the edge of the staircase and beckoned the Hogwarts student over, who had jumped out of her way down the stairs. Oh, he was still here with his own board! She was pleased that he had apparently decided to join in the fun. "Oh, hi, ‘trying to walk here’ - I see, it changed to ‘trying to surf here’ - Nice! And good reflexes by the way. Can I borrow you for a second? I want to jump over you, just crouch down a little, okay?"

If he joined in, she would tell him to get into position in front of her shield. Then she took a few steps back and rubbed her hands together in anticipation. This was going to be fun. "Watch out, here I come!" She didn't bother. checking to see if the younger Hogwarts student had come up the stairs or was lying somewhere. He would get out of the way. "And go!"
Then she would run, take a leap over the Gryffindor, supporting herself with her hands on his back, and would try to land standing on the shield and use the momentum to get the surfing process moving.

Calming Presence in Effect
Watching the people fly by, the boy grinned excitedly and then scurried upwards to join the rest of them at the top of the flight of stairs. This looked like a brand new kind of fun and rulebreaking that the kid was all sorts of hyped for. Hey, the poor kid couldn't help that he was inexorably drawn to trouble like a moth was to a flame. It was a force of habit, a way of living, and the kid loved to not only live life to the fullest, but to figure out why some kids thought the way they thought; think the way they think. The boy was curious of life itself, curious how some could be so blind to a truth located right in front of them so obviously.

Sometimes it took a little mischief to finally break that mold and make good sense of what was really the most important thing in life; the little joys and the little pleasantries that made everything just a little bit brighter and better. Love of life. Love of living.

Excitedly, the kid clapped as he watched the people go sliding past him on his ascent, green eyes glittering with amusement as both eventually crashed. With a small wince, Piérre realized that that was the tradeoff for entertainment, but at the same time in his mind it was more than a well-deserved trade. Besides, what was magic for but to help to make quality of life better and to allow children to be more like children? If those without magic also had access to such things, there was no doubt in the boy's mind that they would use it for much loftier (as well as frivolous) purposes. That was the nature of having gifts and talents; how could one use them to ascend further beyond their station or post? What limits could they breach with the extensions of their power? Where was the envelope and how far could they push the edges of it?

But that really wasn't a concern of Piérre's now. His concern lay more with how he could perform the most outrageous, death-defying trick known to mankind.

As he got close to the starting line, a rather pretty young lady caught his attention with a throwing back of his little New Yorker mockup. With a grin as he heard her request, he nodded affirmatively and then crouched down. "This good enough for ya?" He asked, tipping his head and looking up at her sideways. "Or do you want to try and jump higher?" He teased, arching his back a little higher before returning to a simple leapfrogging position.

After she made the jump, Piérre would hum as he approached the rest of the crowd. "No clue why I didn't think of this sooner, to be honest. Seems like some kind of nonsense I would pull off on a daily basis!" His eyes glittered with amusement, and even more so as he watched Valentin climbing the stairs back so that he could have another go. What, Piérre wondered, kind of thoughts could be in the mind of a kid who had taken such a liking to his sibling? What was there about Romeo that someone could find so endearing? I mean, don't get him wrong, Romeo was a great guy, and anyone who had the good fortune of getting to know and having the privilege to hang out with him should be honored, but it was curious (at least to Piérre) that someone had such a close connection with his sibling that rivaled his own.

It was something he was jealous of... or maybe it was something to try and encourage.

"AYO VALENTINE! WATCH THIS!"

With a whoop and a wave, Piérre threw the shield ahead of him before running as fast as he could alongside it until he was a few feet from the steps. The kid was going to do something absolutely stupid, but perhaps it would be worth it for both the adrenaline, the entertainment, and the excitement of feeling alive. Yes, he was going to do something quite tricky... and very dangerous.

He was going to try sliding down the stairs while doing a handstand on the shield.

Welp! Here's to a pleasant fourteen year old life well lived!

YOLO!

"Who's going to let you?"
For a small variety of reasons that Johannes would never dare disclose in the protection of his already wounded pride, he wasn't having a great week. He's barely even had a week point-blank, with all the days blurring together into one singular state of sleep-deprived resignation. If any Horde the night before had been paying attention to the flickering candle he kept burning nearly all night... No, they didn't. Trust him, as much of a bad idea that is to do. (Can't believe Tatsu rolled a 1 on his insomnia check,,,)

The only reason Johannes was surviving this day as if he didn't almost pull an all-nighter was due to an unhealthy combination of spite, reputational masking and a shitonne of candy. Perhaps he was coping (and coping poorly) but he had one true lifesaver: Scho-ka-kola dark chocolate. He needed to restock sometime soon... Acceptable sleep schedules and time zones were social constructs, especially when there was so much to do and so little time to use but—

Fate probably had a vendetta against him.

That, or he had broken too many mirrors and wished too many people an early happy birthday. Spilt too much salt or whatnot. Whatever the reasoning behind his poor luck, Johannes was never meant to have a day of rest (physically or mentally) in his life. Whatever musings he held over the many candy wrappers in his pockets would have to wait as he made it to an insignificant stair landing - only to dodge what could only be Death-by-embarrassment incarnated.

Okay, maybe he was being dramatic. (When was he not?) What had really occurred, regardless of his mental air sirens, was a simple few side steps away from the shiny metal projectile aimed to take a couple of years off his (likely short) lifespan. If Hogwarts had any Legilimens, this Author would feel extremely bad for them if they ever met Johannes. Forgive his foul language (it was genuine, wholly reflexive, and encompassed all of the languages he knew swear words of... whose number likely dwarfed the languages he knew properly), but he was trying not to get run over by fate itself. 'Fate itself', it seemed, came in the form of a shiny metal shield and exuberant cheering.

Peering curiously up at the gathered group of joyriders, a look of delighted mischief overtook him at every familiar face. The party had begun and Johannes, ever characteristically, was fashionably late. Even with Slava mournfully throwing up glitter like the world's shiniest confetti party, the German could excuse the two (!!) glitter bomb fiends that were him and Amina. Nothing woke a person up like the adrenaline rush of a bad idea and Johann was the definition of a bad idea, vague sense of self-preservation aside. “Knock knock, rogue shield riders?” In a brief bout of English, he picked up the culprit of his near-death experience and stepped off to the side of the landing's connection. “Say, y'all got an extra job opening?” He would not wait for an answer before making his own willingness clear.

Sauntering up a seemingly safe portion of the stairs with little care for the imminent crash zone he was intruding on, Johannes knew full well the risks he was taking by joining midway. But it was fiiine. He could just admire the stylish riders from his own (rowdy and heavily biased) pace. This, he supposed, was the one benefit of his overseas reputation - the incorrect assumption of ignorance could be automatically removed, for his flippancy simply meant that he didn't care enough to begin with.

"Ayoo, Slava- my man- this should be yours." Miming an overexcited frisbee throw at his subject of attention, Johannes eventually handed the Culprit of His Imminent Death (not really) back with all the dramatics of a king's court. His fellow Durmstrangians would be greeted with a casual peace sign and an upwards nod, his expression far friendlier than it had been minutes ago. And if Johannes was nonchalantly unwrapping his tenth lollipop of the day, leaning onto a spare railing, then he might as well get comfortable watching the chaos from the high ground.
Who cares, are they going to stop me?

“Wooo yeah, guys!” Val called as he scooped up his shield and began running back up the stairs. He knew that the problem in his performance was a lack of muscles, but surely next run he could fix it by just adding more speed… “I know just what you're thinking, Amimi, just gimme a moment!” It seemed a real crowd was beginning to gather, many of whom were among his top favorite people.

“Piérre! Hanya!” exclaimed Valentin once he reached the top of the stairs. He was already jazzed by attempting the challenge, but upon seeing them, Val began to beam. “You’re gonna love this, we – wait, Johannes, you look like you’ve been taking tango lessons with the Devil. Are you okay? You didn’t look this bad last practice…” The captain put a hand on Johannes’s shoulder and began to whisper. “Do you want to talk later?”

After concluding interactions with Johannes, Valentin gestured for him and Piérre to join in on the fun. “Here, I’ll show you another method…”

The seeker laid down his shield again and observed his angle on the stairs. I’ll have to go now to have time to set up for Amina. Stretching his back for only a moment, Valentin took off running. Right as he reached the shield, he threw himself onto his back and grasped its concave metal edge, shooting down the stairs with max aerodynamic form. The entire point of bobsledding was ultimate speed, right?

Wherever he ended up, Valentin set his shield down at a primo angle for Amina’s use if she could make it down far enough to join him for the remainder of the stairwell. Without attempting the second turn, Val would simply watch and wait for his friends. He expected Amina to jump onto his shield and would grab on behind her, hoping to sail down the rest of the stairs on the same shield. Valentin would also turn to watch Piérre’s attempted handstand surfing and, hopefully, clapping and cheering as the Britalian passed – as it would have been hard to give him a high five on Piérre’s way down.
Action: 1) Sprint into bobsledding with shield, 2) stop before the second turn to set up a shield swap for Amina with the intent to jump on behind her for the duration, 3) try to be super aerodynamic and pretend to be a rocket

Slava managed to land perfectly on the shield after he spun, a triumphant smile on his face. When he succeeded at making the first turn, too, he started to get cocky, going for the next one even though Valentin hadn’t made it. And then things started to go wrong. «Пиздец!» “Damn it!” His leg gave out, accompanied by a painful cramp. He was flung off the shield but somehow managed to land on his feet. Reaching for his leg to massage it and stretch, he watched his shield slowly slide down without him, unable to grab it in time. He lowered his head in defeat and reached into his pocket to pull out a handful of glitter from the pouch resting there. He threw it in the air, pink flakes sadly drifting down to rest on the carpet, the shiny energy almost comical when contrasted with the failure that had just occurred.

Just like that, he perked up, the playful smile back on his face. Amina quipped that Slava’s beauty and elegance was hard to top after his fail and Slava stuck his tongue out at her. “At least I can пируэт better than you,” he called up to her, the French/English “pirouette” only coming out in the pronunciation of his native tongue, not different enough besides incorrect emphasis and a slightly different sound. Slava was a gymnast after all, and if he couldn’t even do a pirouette/spin in the air then that would just be plain disappointing. If he hadn’t still been on the stairs, he would’ve demonstrated something more impressive than just a jump.

Distracted by new sounds, his attention turned to watching Lucian attempt his turn, although he was mildly miffed that the younger boy had never acknowledged Slava’s greeting and introduction. Nevertheless, Slava could never hold onto those things for long, and the disappointment was short-lived, joining Amina in clapping as encouragement for Lucian’s attempt. His energy levels kept increasing as he saw all the wild things people were attempting—leaping over people to start, sliding down in a handstand?! He was so focused on encouraging and appreciating everyone that he completely forgot to grab his shield.

Luckily, Johannes showed up, miming throwing Slava’s shield back at him. He instinctively ducked and moved out of the way juuuust in case, but the throw was all just an act and Johannes handed the shield to Slava. “Thank you, kind sir,” he said, ducking his head in gratitude as he took the shield. He was personally trying to stick to English so that the Hogwarts students who were present could feel included, although he supposed he didn’t have to when he was just talking to Johannes up here.

The most recent arrival seemed to be settling into a spectator position, and Slava wouldn’t have that. “Jojo, are you not joining?” Slava would grab an extra shield from the pile that had been gathered and thrust it at Johannes. “Come onnnn.” The brightest of smiles would be offered to the lollipop consumer. “But I would not recommend going immediately behind me unless you want a face of glitter,” he warned playfully.

While he did greatly enjoy that Johannes had shown up, Slava was not the type to stay standing still for very long. He would make sure Amina was at an appropriate point where she wouldn’t be dangerously distracted and then yell, “Hey, Mina! You want to talk about beauty?” Once he had her attention, he would proceed to his spur of the moment plan—showing off with some gymnastics tricks he had completely mastered.

Anyone with a brain would know that attempting gymnastics moves near a staircase and people was incredibly foolish. Fortunately, while Slava was reckless, he was not a complete idiot and he had had enough training in gymnastics to know to make sure he had plenty of space and was unlikely to hit someone or something or fall down the staircase. No, he was trying to redeem himself, not cause more disaster. And gymnastics was one of the areas where he genuinely knew what he was doing. He leapt into a front handspring followed by an aerial (looking something like this), ending with a grin and playful bows if any of his friends and new acquaintances in the area responded.

He wasted no more time before moving to the stairs, lining his shield up and pushing off, lying down on his stomach, face first. While Valentin had attempted the classic bobsled, Slava had other plans. He was interested in experiencing the sliding more personally—and, obviously, dangerously—and what better way to do that than to have your face be up first? He tucked his hands in his pockets, filling his fists with as much pink and red glitter as he possibly could, and then stretched his arms out to the sides like a plane, letting glitter fall out behind him in streaks as he went. He laughed, having a brilliant time, and just hoped he wouldn’t crash or fail, or it would be extremely unfortunate for him.

Saturday afternoon, 15th October 2022
It was time to go catch a little of fresh air, Hui-Ying had been cloistered inside the castle for long enough. Since she woke up really early that morning, she had been at the library focused on her homework and studies, now was time to enjoy a little of her time, after all it was the weekend and she had already done plenty to pacify her conscience and to make her feel relaxed enough to go to find something fun and more entertaining to do. And like if her wish for some trouble had materialized, as soon as she as she headed the next corridor to the stairs she started to hear some uncharacteristic noises coming from it. Someone was making a party there for sure, taking from the enthusiastic sound of voices and from what it looked like to be something heavy and metallic being thrown down the stairs, Ying quickened her pace, almost running to see what was going on there.

When she bypassed the last corridor towards the stairs she could finally see what was happening in there. A group composed mostly of older students that were using shields, taken from the armors that were guarding the halls, to slide down the curved stairs. Hui-Ying was amazed with what she was seeing, who ever had that idea it was genius! Dangerous, reckless! But...brilliant! "Hey guys!" The dark-haired girl joyfully greeted the group with a small wave of her hand, "This is awesome! Can I join you all?" She asked walking closer to them with a wide smile. Then holding her hands on her back she bit her bottom lip waiting excitedly and anxiously for their answer.

MODERATION ROUND TWO
The interesting afternoon event seemed to attract more and more people. The cheering, laughing, teasing and crashing attracted another one of those Durmstrangs - Johannes (@Astrea Soleil Neptune). Although he was plagued by insomnia and probably a sugar overdose, he managed to dodge Slava’s shield that made the race alone and not get a heart attack. He was warmly welcomed and integrated directly into the chaos without further ado. His entry ticket was the shield he handed back to Slava.

All the kids would make their way back up the stairs to go again - or for some of them giving the unbeaten stairs another try. So far, stairs one - students zero. (@Ruby Cazares) would do his part to lose at least with style. He left a trail of glitter on the stairs as he climbed them back up.

The young boy, @Lucian Mornstern, had seen enough. If older students failed it was no embarrassment to not succeed either. It was his turn now, he claimed. Placing his shield at the edge of the stairs he would take a few steps back to get some momentum.
The older students were all die-hard athletes - sportsmanship and support burned in their souls and hearts and so they cheered him on as he began to run.

Although the little wolf normally seemed to rely more on his strength and less on his elegance, he landed reasonably smoothly on his shield and carried it over the edge with his momentum. With his arms spread wide, he slithered down the flight, but the shield immediately began to lurch and wanted to tear him out. He almost fell off, but then he was overcome by a violent adrenaline rush, knowing that all eyes were on him, and his legs forced the shield back under his body. Perhaps the inner wolf had come to his aid.
But the triumph was short-lived. Although he now had full control of his board, he made a miscalculation at the first turn. He took it too steeply and the shield tipped. With a lunge, Lucian managed to land on his feet and just barely caught his shield before it could skid away. Lucky boy. That gave him the time to move out of the way because the next one was already in the queue.

After checking off his social obligations, Valentin (@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood) was already eager to catch up with Lucian. He had planned something together with Amina and wanted to be there on time. He had noticed that his muscles had given him the slip, so now he was relying on what he did best. Speed and agility. Like a white lighting he started to spring towards the edge, the unconquered staircase, and leaped into a sitting position on his board.

But something seemed to be wrong. He had calculated perfectly. All he needed to get to the first turn was his agility and speed and just a little strength at the turns. It was too easy. So easy that his body thought to give him another challenge. Just at the moment when the shield touched the floor, Valentin’s arm flinched and gave the shield an involuntary spin. Rotating around himself for three times, he twirled down the flight, staying on the fast carussal, holding on to the edges of the metal.
While other people would get dizzy, the white seeker probably was used to this from many risky flying maneuvers and took the momentum to dismount his ride with an elegant pirouette at the first turn, landing in standing position, the shield safely in his hands.
Now Amina would have to adjust her plans, but man, what a show he gave us.

The Durmstrang girl was all hyped anyway and wouldn’t even see that her friend didn’t make it to the second turn. She was too busy ordering people around and turning them into her obstacles. @Piérre Marchonné was kind enough to oblige and crouched down for her. She would show the boys that she could do cool stuff, too! Or at least, so she thought.

Amina took the Piérre jump without any effort. He did a really good job and her hands pushed her smoothly over him. She landed light-footedly on her board and slid down the stairs like a ballerina. In the meantime, two people were already bundled up at the first turn, but they had kindly made room for her.
The shield was excellently balanced, everything felt perfect, but then she reached the invisible limit - the first turn. Apparently, all the bodies of the Durmstrangs made themselves independent today. First Slava, then Valentin, and now Amina was also affected. When she reached the turn, a strong twitch ran through her leg and she involuntarily kicked her board. This maneuver catapulted her directly into Valentin. She caught her shield behind her back and ended with an elegant turn on her feet. Always these athletes. They still made a show out of falling down and acted as if it was intentional.

Unaffected by the failure of the previous sliders, @Piérre Marchonné challenged fate. All or nothing. He really wanted to know. It was almost as if he had planned not to join the others at the bottom, who had all got stuck in the first curve. No, rather break his neck here and now. That was his motto, his claim.
Spurred on by Valentin's presence, he wanted to show what he was made of. So he hurled his shield to the ground, sprinted along and actually tried to land on it in a handstand.

But fate had other plans. It probably saved him from worse - it's hard to imagine what would have happened if he had actually made it to the stairs. Slava, the experienced circus performer, would certainly have had something to say here.
Piérre flexed all his muscles, he could literally feel the power pulsing through him. He would manage to hold on and come to a stop. The balancing would be the difficult part... But in fact it didn't come to that at all. His one hand landed on the shield, the other just missed it, causing his one support to be brutally pulled out from under his body. The impulse made him turn sideways over his other shoulder and land on his feet, the shield still in his hand. Perhaps better that way.

Slava (@Ruby Cazares) used this opportunity to show off his skills, safely without endangering him or anyone else. There was no question that the adrenaline level was very high. The most dangerous attempt definitely went to the Gryffindor, but Slava, after performing his trick, would shift to another strategy. Glitter cannon. Without a heroic start, he would prudently and cautiously place himself on his shield, then plunge headfirst down the stairs.

He had probably already said goodbye to his nose at this point, but accepted the price. With the grace of a seal, he slid down the stairs penguin style, leaving behind a condensation trail of glitter.
Despite the daring stance, he had no problem shifting his weight at the first turn and re-rigging the shield. He whizzed past everyone else and successfully made sure everyone got a handful of glitter in their face.
He was the only one who made it to the second curve. But instead of taking on the whole staircase, he pressed his feet into the ground and slowed down. He was now able to dismount in peace and take his shield in his hands, his nose and face still pretty and whole.

All of this madness was witnessed by a young Gryffindor, @Fang Hui-Ying who had just joined the scene. Amina would be thrilled about the female support.
Instead of declaring everyone crazy and moving on, she seemed to find the whole thing rather intriguing. Quite politely, she asked if she could join in. One of the knights would certainly provide her with a shield. She should be careful. Here, one was more quickly used as an obstacle or simply grabbed onto a shield and shoved down the stairs than one realized.
Summary of this Round

  • Lucian
  • Valentin
  • Amina
  • Piérre
  • Slava
Summary of surfing events
  • Johannes arrived and “gave” Slava their shield back
  • Lucian made it to first turn in standing position and fell (landed on feet and caught shield - location: first turn)
  • Valentin attempted a full-speed bobsled and fell during the first flight (landed on feet and caught shield - location: first turn)
  • Amina jumped over Piérre, made it to the first turn in a standing position and fell (landed on feet and caught shield - location: first turn)
  • Piérre attempted to jump on his thrown shield in a handstand and fell right at the start (landed on feet and caught shield - location: top of the staircase)
  • Slava does a glitter rocket sliding down on his belly. He successfully makes it to the second turn where he dismounts on purpose (standing on feet and has shield in hand - location: second turn)
  • Fang arrived at the party and will get into big trouble. Probably. Don’t follow the lead of those crazy older students

Valentin's attempt followed Lucian's, who only made it to the first turn. Yet, although he wanted to enjoy the speed he pushed into his bobsledding, Val's mind didn't keep pace with his body. Rather, he went into the first turn distracted. The problem was that he'd looked around before starting in order to see if anyone else was in the audience. One Britalian appeared to have arrived without the other, and there was no one from the other foreign schools– dear Durmstrang friends and Hogwarts only. Since when did it matter who the audience was, so long as the Hell-Chaser had one? Still, he couldn't help wondering if Sergei was right in his blustering. 'The White Seeker of Durmstrang will have a thousand fans and yet die alone,' the butler would say. 'You're being too picky. There's no such thing as true love. Grow up.' Now, during a perfectly good stunt surrounded by people he loved, Valentin couldn't help but feel that maybe Sergei was right. There were plenty of people around to watch and compete with him, but … wasn't there something more out there? Someone in particular he wished he could perform for, one apart from all others?

In no time, Valentin reached the first corner, but his reflexes lagged a split second too long for the added speed of the bobsledding method. Tumbling out of the dish of the shield, Val still managed to land on his feet and grab the shield out of the way to make room for the next person, but … he knew he was not just failing his maneuver. There was a much deeper problem in his life that was not getting addressed and would only compound with time.

Perhaps Valentin was not the only one distracted. While Piérre's jump over Amina was suitably flashy and his choice of maneuvers courageous, he was not able to make it far.

"Don't give up, Piérre!" Val's voice was a tad more serious than would have been normal in this situation, as if he was taking the boy's failed attempt as his own. Amina also didn't make it far enough to do the shield swap Val was still prepared to perform with her, and the only one who would make it all the way was living glitter bomb, Slava. As if throwing sparks from his shield's descent, Slava certainly knew how to perform in style. This was their Slava, alright. Amina crashed into Valentin, and the white seeker caught her with a gallant, affectionate spin. "Why, hello Amimi," he grinned. With a whooping cheer as he offered a hand up to Amina and Lucian, Val gestured upstairs insisting that they try again.

"It's not over 'til it's over!"

The seeker ran upstairs with his shield after making sure that everyone else was sufficiently okay, then checked on Piérre near the stairs' entrance.

"What if we did another combo? Just tell me what you want to do. This time we'll make it for sure."

Action: 1) Do a running bobsled start and perform whatever combo others want to join in on 2) be prepared to shield swap with Amina if desired at whatever stage Amina or others choose for possible combo 3) try to cheer up and continue going fast to try to make the sad feelings get lost behind

A cheeky grin would be the reply to Slava’s teasing and true words. "Yes, I have to admit it, you are a great spinning top! I can’t challenge you with that!" Her grin went from ear to ear as she gave her friend credit. She was naturally drawn to Slava’s energetic, positive character and admired his gymnastic abilities - all her words had a deep source of respect and he would know.
Two of the four people she liked to spend most of her time with were here with her and joined in the fun and that was all it needed to make Amina’s day perfect. Friends, adrenaline, sports. Perfect.

Amina was just about to get ready and waited for Valentin to go when another of the famous team joined the scene. She was briefly confused as the white seeker also addressed the Gryffindor boy she almost had knocked over. Wait, did they know each other? But typical for her character, she got distracted by the new arrival.
"Aye! Johannes!"
She would notice the shadows under his eyes and that he looked kind of drained but other than her captain she was not worried. Amina couldn’t access that side of a character. In her brain the medicine to everything was fun. So,after he had handed the shield back, she bounced up and down and did a small tackle hug. If he allowed it, she would throw herself against him and wrap her arms around him to squeeze him dearly. She would bury her face at his shoulder for a second and then pull away, beaming at the boy.
She wouldn't ask how he was doing, no. She would simply nod enthusiastically when Slava, her partner in crime, strongly suggested forced him to join them. "You have to join! Opting out is no option!" How she loved to force people to her happiness! With a happy grin, she grabbed a sign from the pile and held it out to Durmstrang.
If he didn't take it, she would just drop it at his feet. After all, she didn't have all day. Great deeds awaited her. “See you on the other side. No time to waste or I miss my Val-train!”. She’d better hurry, she had to time it perfectly after all and she didn’t want to make him wait.

While Valentin started his sprint, she grinned at the Gryffindor who would kindly play her obstacle. Perfect, just like that! Ever thought about doing that professionally?” She stuck out her tongue at him and gave him an endearing (in her opinion) innocent smile.
As he teased her by getting up a bit, she laughed and shook her head. "Harder but not impossible. I have to go tho, bye!" With a winning expression on her face she leaped over the boy and landed on her carefully placed shield.
A bit surprised she noticed two people standing at the first turn and just assumed Val wanted to wait there for her and not on the second turn. Ah, wasn’t he awesome?
Thy Slytherin boy Lucian also was there. Was he already on his way up again? Or did he stop there?
Maybe it would be better if she didn't think so much and concentrated.

"Now Val!" She automatically switched to Russian. Not that she had to say it, he knew anyway. But she wanted to be dramatic. Too dramatic. Her leg crossed her plans, developing his own mind, and as she went into the turn it decided to catapult her into her friend instead.
She crashed into him and caught the sign that had shot up in the air behind her back. "Oops. Hello!" She nestled against his chest for a second and then grinned around him with glittering eyes before putting a few inches between them again.
"You uncooperative thing. Work!" She scolded with her leg, missing Pierre's spectacular handstand. Too bad. Or maybe better that way. That might have been a bit too much inspiration for the risk-taking girl. Her head shot up as Valentine cheered the Gryffindor on, but she only saw him land on his feet. "You know my obstacle?" She tilted her head and grinned. His suddenly darkened mood was mistaken as focused by her.

But before she could think more about it, Slava distracted her. Being addressed in English brought her back to that language as well. "WOAH! Do that from one shield to the next!" She shouted up the stairs and applauded wildly. But luckily the boy had other plans and shot past them pinguin style shortly after.
Full of enthusiasm, she left her shield and ran down the stairs behind him, arms spread wide, trying to collect as much glitter as possible, like a marathon runner going through a water sprinkler.
When he breaked, she didn't stop, but just ran into him and probably spread some glitter on him at the opportunity. Amina was excited and full of hugging energy. She felt a strong need to show her friends how great she thought it was that they were here.
With full momentum she bounced into him (if he wanted to dodge, go ahead.) and warmly wrapped her arms around his neck. "So much beaut. I'm dazzled!" She grinned cheekily at him and gave him a peck on the cheek. As she did so, she slipped her hands into his pockets and swiped some of the glitter. With a mischievous twinkle, she took a step back and lifted her prey into the air. "May I?"

Then she turned and ran up to the first turn, taking two stalls at a time. She had a plan and would wait here for this. Peeking up to the top of the stairs she noticed the new face (Fang).
Hey there! Sure, go ahead and grab a shield! "It's great fun!” The more people the merrier! It brought her so much joy seeing the crowd grow.
But then she immediately focused on Val who again started to run. “I’ll hop on behind you!” At least, that was the plan. Let’s see if it worked out this time. But failing plans were probably even more fun than successful ones.

Calming Presence in Effect
Well, he had failed his attempt... but what else was new by this point? Though he felt his upper body easily support him, perhaps he had put just a little too much 'romentum' on the action of performing the handstand and had instead overshot his handstand, resulting in a strange walkover that while it allowed him to effortlessly snag the shield it hadn't really let him slide anywhere other than a few feet away from his starting point.

A shame... but at least he had helped out one of the other students in achieving their cool surf attempt.

Man... a lot of of the Durmstrang kids seemed to be ending up on the ground... was that on purpose, he wondered? Yet, when Valentin the ringleader called up to him and then ran to be by his side, Piérre waved a hand, looking up at the nearly six foot tall young man from his (extremely) short position of five and four. "Of course! You don't have to tell me twice! I got it this time, I'm just rusty!" The bravado covered up for a little bit of injured pride that the kid felt about his bodily shortcomings. He was quick and agile... occasionally strong if he could help it... yet he hadn't been raised in the circus, as much as he wished he had been. All he could boast was that he touched grass quite a bit more than a lot of his 'Muggle' contemporaries usually did, resulting in a highly active and almost rubbery flexibility that allowed him to carry his body weight almost effortlessly. "It was my first go. I'll warm up, yeah?"

Perhaps he relied on that aspect of his nature too much...

Waving down at a young girl who asked if she could join, Piérre grinned and shouted back. "Hey yeah! Grab a shield and try not to break yourself on the way down!" He jested lightly (with an obvious air of sincerity about it). It would be up to the kid to ensure that they didn't get themselves hurt; at this point in time Piérre was only responsible for himself. If he got hurt, that was his own prerogative. He chose if he wanted to get hurt or not. This was for fun after all, so why not, hm?

So saying, the Britalian 'pouted' as he stuck his chin up, running forward and then attempting a front flip while pressing the shield to his feet by the tips of his fingers. If he landed true, he would hopefully land on the butt of the shield and would be able to stand up straight so that he could cross his arms in a 'No big deal' pose and then skate the two turns to the bottom.

He was quite ready to crash... but if he could help it he would most certainly try not to.
A showoff was he.
Attempt:
Style: "Cool Guy Syndrome" Hands in pockets, using feet and total body weight to guide alone

Turns: x2

Start of the Slide: Running frontflip/kickflip (as in, hands on the shield pressing it to feet while doing flip and then landing on shield)
