What an interesting coincidence, Natalie thought. The (almost) same family story, it's not something you hear everyday from somebody sitting next to you. She also thought it would be interesting if her and Mahlioz got sorted into the same house, she was the first person to talk to in these years of studies and maybe that was some sign of a possible friendship. If that's how friends are made.
Hearing that Mahlioz also loved books, Natalie's serotonin level got practically boosted up,she absolutely liked reading as well, and was hoping to see how the common room of Ravenclaw would look like. However, she may not get sorted into Ravenclaw,so that's why she made lots of plans, since a year before getting the letter. We can affirm she was terribly bored at home.
„I would like us to get sorted into the same house too,why not. The weirdest fact was that the redhead was now dreaming about her Hogwarts life on the inside,if they ended up in the same house they'd probably be the founders of some reading club and she'd be so proud of representing the Eagles, even better if she wasn't all by herself..
„But even if we don't.. it's pretty possible.. Hogwarts also has a huge library,we can meet there every day! Possibly we'll have classes together also,as you said.

Hearing the word 'library' was all Mahlioz needed to get her imagination running wild again. So many books... her home had many, of course, since she came from a family of readers, but the amount of books in the Hogwarts library seemed like too much to even comprehend. She could imagine the beautiful immensity of the shelves, the amount of books no one had even read yet, every piece of information she would learn from them... she could learn all the languages she'd want, every spell there was, every story anyone had ever written...
She realized she had an answer to question. Er... a question to answer. Her mind was a little foggy from excitement - and why wouldn't it be? She was going to HOGWARTS!
"Oh- yeah. That's true!" she told Natalie with a grin. "And we're bound to have free time at least thrice a day. We could definitely meet up then!"
Although this was true, she still really hoped they'd be in the same house. This was the first wizard of her age - well, apart from Reltyl, but they didn't count because they were in her family - that she had talked to in a long while. And she'd be able to see them every single day for the next year! If they were in the same house - which seemed quite probable, given the circumstances - they'd have even more of a reason to become friends.
A wizard friend... Mahlioz realized. She'd never had one before. Of course, she didn't want to assume anything, and they weren't exactly friends yet, only acquaintances, but... maybe over time?

Noticing that Mahlioz smiled to her, while responding to the library question, Natalie tried to smile back. Of course she wasn't one to very socialize, but these two had a whole lot in common. Both of them liked to learn, both were hoping to represent the same house, both would consider meeting up in the common room or library..and maybe even becoming friends after a while. Natalie searched up in her pocket and pulled a piece of parchment that she wrote on - she had made a list of things she'd like to do in her first year at hogwarts. Now all copyright to Natalie, but the list looked kind of,like this.

Die Liste // Year I

1.[Learn to cast (at least) 5 spells.]
2.[Prepare (at least) 1 potion.]
3.[Try and get to make a chocolate frog collection.]
4.[Learn how to ride a broom (can't have your own,so school property).]
5.[Make (at least) 1 friend.]

The last number of the list was striked many times before,it could be barely read through all the ink lines. No clue why she covered it like that, but it was up to her choice, anyway. The ginger girl added another number, which said „Read (at least) 20 books from the library. Not a want,a need.“

OOC: She did not erase number 5 right now, becoming friends with Mahlioz would probably be something she'd like. She cut it at home, kind of unsure of how the kids would be—

Since Mahlioz was sitting next to her, she couldn't help reading the list as well. Although she couldn't tell what the fifth number in it was, she found that the others were all quite suiting. She couldn't wait to do the last, newly-written one, and the first two looked amazing too. The fourth, though... it sounded kind of terrifying. Broomsticks sounded fun, but... quidditch was still a sport.
Then Mahlioz noticed the name of the list - Die Liste. Her mind was brought back to languages. "You know, I know some german as well. My father comes from France, and my sister goes to Beauxbatons. She has some friends who are german and she's taught me some of the language. Only ein bisschen, though."
She hoped the news was good. Because sometimes it wasn't always great when someone told you they knew your language. After all, Mahlioz only knew a few phrases in german, and in any case, if someone had told her they knew 'un peu' of French, she wouldn't exactly want them to show it off. She would probably want them to leave her alone to read her book. She hoped Natalie was not the same.
"Hey," Mahlioz added, her mind already wandering again, "What are you looking forward to the most, in Hogwarts? She realized she already probably knew the answer. "Apart from the library, of course."

OOC: Although I'm sure you know what 'ein bisschen' and 'un peu' mean, I will put their translations here because the site rules ask to do so: they both mean 'a little'.

„Ahaha, yes,Beauxbatons is a school for people who can speak various language. French is a very interesting language, however,I don't manage to spell it right. I can write and read in it though. Freut mich aber, dass du Deutsch verstehst.

(but I'm glad that you understand German)
,even a little bit of it. Accidentally switching languages happens and it feels awkward when people think that you cursed them or something.“ Hearing of languages, and Beauxbatons and stuff, Natalie's mind flew away from the question previously asked. But after only two or three minutes, she remembered it: What did she really want to do at Hogwarts?Besides of acknowledging spells, learning how to ride the broomstick and maybe even play Quidditch,at some point, not even mentioning how much she wanted to read the books in the common room and library, what did Hogwarts really mean to her?She could have read at home as much as she wanted, what was so different in school? Maybe it was because of these black robes that were the basic uniform?Or..because of these new items, like the wand?Natalie flickered it a bit,in hope to see that light again, that appeared at Olivander's. Maybe that's what she needed to remember why was she so excited of learning at Hogwarts,in the Diagon Alley. What was... could it be? Die Kinder? Die Freunde?

(The kids,the friends?)
The topic she has cut off the list due to the 'lack of use', probably was one of the top things Hogwarts was known for. Natalie has never learned in a collective, she prefered to do things by herself,but.. it's been a while since she smiled like during this conversation.

„I don't know.. I'd like to find my place in here, among the thousands of witches and wizards. The newest thing to me is getting to know strangers.

Mahlioz nodded vigorously, understanding the sentiment all too well. "I agree. People can be... hard to deal with, sometimes." Or, really, most of the time. There was always that fear in the back of her mind of getting made fun of. Or the feeling that she could be doing something a thousand times more interesting than talking to someone. Like reading. But the thing was... since she had started speaking to this girl, she hadn't really felt any of those things. In fact, she realized with a surprise that she was actually glad to be talking to her.
She hadn't expected that, really. The only person she usually enjoyed talking to was Reltyl. She'd been excited about coming to Hogwarts for many reasons, but... well, friends hadn't exactly been at the top of her list. There was already enough to do and to learn about in this gargantuan magical school without people. But now that she'd met Natalie, she realized she may have been wrong. Maybe there was a reason to make friends. Maybe it was a good thing.
"Y aura tellement de-" Mahlioz stopped, and blinked. She didn't often switch languages without realizing, but she'd been distracted and thinking to herself in both languages. She corrected herself, a little self-conciously - she knew Natalie did the same thing sometimes, but they had literally just been speaking about it, and she'd still done it by accident. "Sorry, I mean, there'll be so many people. I feel like it will be terrifying, but also..." she searched for the word "...exhilarating."
She could already imagine the Great Hall, bustling with people, already forming friend groups and talking together, and her pessimist mind put her in the middle of it, with no one to go to. But maybe, just maybe, there was a possibility of friends?
The background outside the window was drastically changing as Mahlioz watched. She felt in her bones that they were nearing Hogwarts. The first year had no idea how to feel - excited, nervous, terrified, apprehensive, all of the emotions were making a bubbling soup in her and it was making her numb. She stood up and got her new uniform from in her trunk. "I'll be right back, I have to change into my uniform before we get there," she told Natalie as she started towards the nearest bathroom to change.
By the time she was back, she could see the gigantic shadow of the castle out of the window of the compartment as the train started to slow. "We're... we're actually there," Mahlioz said in awe. The train stopped completely and as the two girls packed up and left, Mahlioz couldn't keep the grin off of her face. The day she'd been waiting for for so long had arrived. And now she had someone to go through it with her. With an excited glance at Natalie, her adventure began.
