Let There Be No Light

So much for pacifism. Even after Valentin sacrificed momentum to give the enemy a lenient warning, the pair truly intended to hurt Yefim. It hurt Val to learn this. He hated that his wish to believe in the goodness of people had lost them tactical advantage… but it wasn’t too late. Yefim patiently maintained their blinding light.
When Val was holding back his wand’s bloodlust at the Slytherin boy’s throat, Percival was not content to stand down. Throwing a punch at Valentin, the Slytherin found his attack flying off into space as the white lightning shot out of the way. Turning to check on Yefim, Valentin saw Cassie launch a punch of her own at the champion, which could only mean one thing – diving directly into the line of fire. Valentin leapt in front of his champion with both arms out, only for Cassie’s fist to clock him across the jaw. With a couple of blinks to refocus his eyes, Valentin glared back at the Beauxbaton, only to smile through the pain as Yefim drew a conclusion aloud about Cassie’s likely Hexiwizard role. Yeah, this was his champion alright, and now was a glorious time to fight for him.
“I gave you two a chance to stand down. Now I won’t hold back.” The ruddy wand in Val’s hand clicked against his hand’s golden ring as he angled it at Percival. For only a moment, he examined the boy – an ugly mockery of his truly beautiful Mikael – and Val’s wand warmed with anticipation. It wasn’t even that Percival looked all that similar to the main dark-haired boy in Val’s life. Really, the problem was that it felt weird to be with Yefim so much without Mikael there, and having black-haired, blue-eyed Percival in the corner of his eye kept reminding him of this. More than a month had elapsed since Val’s fight with Mikael, but he still longed for the days when they were more of a solid, untroubled trio. Just because Valentin’s form of adoration didn’t deify Yefim as Mikael’s did… that didn’t mean they weren’t both absolutely devoted. Still, the tension Valentin carried about Mikael, paired with his distance from Romeo, set tinder under the sparks flying off Yefim’s grandstanding. Valentin wanted to take this fight, and now their opponents had made the need for it clear.
“Away with you. Flipendo!” shouted the seeker, attempting a shot at the boy whom Valentin wished were Mikael.

Let There Be No Light
Interacting with @Flash Holmwood And @Lucia Fox
Gray stared a hole through the white haired boy who pointed a wand at his throat. His hands raised up in surrender momentarily as the girl and Yefim were still fighting, however, that was only to show a brief compliance. When his eyes shot to the other fight at hand, he then threw the uppercut straight at the boy which he managed to dodge. Thankfully, Lucia had other plans and managed to rock the wand carrying boy back.
"You're the one who chose the wrong fight, now you'll pay the price for your lack of judgment" he growled back at him while a hand reached for his hand. As he looked to fire another spell his way, Gray suddenly pulled out the wand and flicked it towards the boy with equal intent "Obscuro!" the slytherin shouted, looking to try and dodge the spell at the same time as a way to keep in this fight.
If they were going to equal the odds, they'd both need to help each other take on their opponents. They were not going to push him around in his own school, that was for certain.
Action: Use Obscuro on Aida

[quote]Cassie's arm drew back, perfectly poised to slam right into Mr. Bulldozer's nose and make him bleed all over his stupid little face - but suddenly the pale boy sped in front of her first and took the blow instead, which was a metaphorical blow to Cassie. She didn't care about this guy! She just wanted to pay Yefim back for destroying her stuff! If this was a Muggle school - or, heck, even Beauxbatons - Cassie could have gone the official route and Yefim would have been forced by someone more important than him (of which there were far many more than the Champion appeared to think) to pay for a replacement. But here, in a foreign school, attacked by a foreign student... Cassie didn't know if Durmstrang staff would even come to her aid, and Beauxbatons and Hogwarts staff technically had no authority over Yefim and his sidekick. "For goodness' sake." There was not a lot of goodness present in this courtyard, Cassie was quickly realising.
"Oh, I don't." The boy wasn't talking to her, but Cassie felt compelled to respond anyway. It was a clichéd line, in her humble opinion, but would be honourable in intention if only his friend wasn't a destructive git. "I couldn't care less about you. Go away." There was an incredibly low chance that the pale boy would actually follow through on Cassie's order, but it was worth a try.
So angry. It wasn't the patronising tone that caught Cassie off-guard, but the confident assertion that Cassie was a knight. Which... which she was. Would be. How the heck did Yefim Rumyantsev know what piece she would be playing in the first task? Cassie was sure none of her team would rat their strategy out to the Durmstrangs of all people, so either Yefim was spying on them... or he was bluffing. And Cassie's hesitation had just proved him right. "A knight would have a horse," Cassie attempted, "to trample you with."
