The two girls sitting beside Monica seem to have similar ideas about the dresses they wanted to wear for the ball. Once again, Monica felt like an outcast, the only one in the group caught by the aesthetic of a black dress. Surely it was fairytale themed enough, it had a billowy skirt and some nice silver accents. Looking more and more at her choice, verse the others, Monica could feel the want to not have to be like them. To be okay with choosing a non-conventional Fairytale style dress. Who said it had to be the princess, or the good person? There were lots of different characters in Fairytales, and not all of them were the damsel in distress.
Monica smiled, "Seem like you guys have very similar taste in dresses. They both look beautiful, and like they would suit you well." Monica gazed once again at her own choice, "Seems like I'm dressing up as an evil queen from the Fairytale genre." She snickered, trying to mimic an evil laugh, but ended up making herself laugh due to the horrible attempt she had made.
Bea had answered about her name, Monica sighed, "Oh that's good, I often recite Beatrice in my head to not just blurt out Bea... though not always good at it, but glad to know it doesn't bother you." She turned over to Skraele, "And you? Any Nicknames you like?"
As the girls continued to flip through page after page, commenting on various dresses, Monica found herself, yet again, thinking of Hiro. She hadn't contacted him since Summer, but had hoped he was going to be at the ball. Since she had said to go to the ball with these girls, she felt it only fair to let them know about her budding crush. She would hate it if she saw Hiro and either didn't approach him from fear of abandoning the 2 others, or abandoning them in order to talk with him. Either way wouldn't hurt to have some friends have her back in this little situation. "Hey guys...when we are at the ball..." How should she even go about sharing this information?
'Hey I kinda like this boy that may or may not be at the ball, and might want to talk with me or not, so just wanted to let you guys know of this possible situation that might not happen.'
Sounded even dumber in her head. "Well Bea did you ever meet Hiro? From Mahoutokoro? Um...well we kinda became friends over the summer, and I am unsure if he is even coming to Hogwarts, but wanted to just see if I ran into him at the ball. I am totally there with you guys the whole time, promise, just wanted to maybe talk with him if he is there and we happen to bump into each other..." She noticed that she was twiddling her thumbs around each other. "Would that be okay with you guys?"

Dress Delight
Bea loved both of her friends dresses. Skraele's looked similar but completely different in a woodland, marshy (could she say that to her friend) kind of way. No matter how it looked though, it gave off fairytale vibes for sure. "A love it. Definitely nymph vibes!"
Monica's was again different to Bea's tastes. Midnight black with a corset, Beatrice couldn't help but grin. "A love 'em both! We're goin' te look amazin'!" She nudged Monica's shoulder, "No matter what side of the fairytale we take." Even though Moni's tastes borded on the dark, the girl was nothing but kind. Beatrice would tell her friend that in a heartbeat and she hoped she knew that.
Now that she had found her dress, Beatrice was on the lookout for accessories. Grabbing another, more accessory niched magazine, she started flicking through that. It was only when Monica started then stopped that Bea looked up at her. Crinkling her eyebrows, she listened as her friend announced she had met a boy from Summer Camp. "No, I dinna meet him. You should introduce us! If ye want..." She realised as soon as she said it, that perhaps Monica's new relationship, if they had got that far, was probably quite new and untested and maybe she didn't want to introduce her friends quite yet. Bea could tell she was nervous about the whole thing. She bumped her friends shoulder. "Don't feel obligated to stay with us all night. Go have fun with Hiro!"

Evidenced by a slight tilt of her still grinning face, Skraele rather likes that idea. "Ohh, yea! Wish I'd've thought'a that! I bet prowlin' about lookin' like a boss and givin' orders would be a lot of fun, like!" She snickers at the thought, not realizing she's probably not helping."Seems like I'm dressing up as an evil queen from the Fairytale genre."
She takes a long moment to think about the answer to that. "Well, the muggle teachers called me imp a lot, and this one badger boy calls me skrr skrr, if that counts. I'm not really picky though!" She does tend to make a mess of things with little to no remorse. Maybe the latter is a pseudo badger sound.She turned over to Skraele, "And you? Any Nicknames you like?"
Skraele nods vigorously in agreement with Bea's sentiments. "Go have fun! I'll keep Bea company, and if she decides to run off then I'll have no problem entertainin' myself. I've got a few ideas that'll make the prank club proud at the next meetin'!" Is it against the rules to say that so loud? The thought doesn't cross her mind. "Do ya think I'd lose any points for using spells?""Would that be okay with you guys?" "Don't feel obligated to stay with us all night. Go have fun with Hiro!"
"Oh, hey! Do either of ya know how ta dance anyway? I sure don't, sooo I'm not really planning on that." Suddenly, she grimaces and looks rather squeamish. "Fortunately, no obligations there."

The conversation, though small, was thrilling. These girls were such a treat to hang out with, Monica was sitting, blushing as the two complemented her choice in dark attire. True as it was that Monica never 'loved' the glits and glitters of fairytale, she still loved the genre, and finding a dress that could match her passion and choice of fashion was a win win, having the others see it that way was an added plus.
"We are going to be the best dressed there, that's for sure." She said to Bea as she gazed again at the other's choices. "We could have a little fairytale story of our own..." She scrunched her eyebrows as she thought of the story their dresses told, "A tale of 3 sisters... one lost to the powers of evil, the other two fighting to win her back..." She sat not fully convinced by her own interpretation, but waited to see if the girls had ideas of their own to add.
"Well, good to know you're not picky, not that I'm the best with nicknames, but I have a tendency to short form people's names without thinking sometimes... guess we shall see what comes up." She chuckled, nudging Skraele as she spoke.
After talking about Hiro, the others seemed so supportive of her reunion with the foreign boy that captured her attention, "You better believe I'll introduce you guys!" She shifted on the bench, tracing her thumb over the lining of her robe, "Though I doubt I'll leave to hang out with him... I'm sure he has his own group of friends he'll be with or even..." She couldn't bring herself to say it, but the likely-hood that he was going to the dance with a date was incredibly high. After all, they had only agreed to be friends... nothing more, so why would she expect more? But every piece of her being wished he wasn't with anyone, that this ball could be Monica's possible real life fairytale...
She started to play with her hair, that was surely just a pipe dream, with no ground to stand on.
Perking up once the conversation moved to accessories, Monica grabbed another magazine, and started flipping through to get inspiration on make-up. After her 'private lesson' with an older student, Willow (back when their name was still Willow). Ever since then, Monica had been experimenting quite a bit with various make-up looks, and was excited to try out something new for the ball. "Hey you guys play around with make-up before? If you ever want help, I have been getting quite good with face designs myself."
