Zoe listens closely as Emma talks about her elegant green ring, glad she dropped the subject of her pendant. She chuckles a bit whens she speaks about Hogwarts being duller than she expected, since Zoe was fascinated with everything when she first arrived, from the classes, the people to the moving stairs.
But, then again, Zoe knew nothing about the magical world till she was nearly 11, and from the way Emma phrased it, at least one of her parents were magical, and probably told her everything about the magical world. Anyway, it was still interesting to hear her thoughts on everything, from a different perspective.
Zoe didn't respond to anything she said, other than nods and smiles, so she knew that she needed to say something before the conversation once again goes to awkward silence. She thought of something to say, and wondered about Emma's thoughts on Quidditch. Zoe couldn't wait to try it, and aspired to one day be the captain of the Gryffindor team. "Oh, are you into sports? I really wanna get into Quidditch soon, and dueling seems cool too!"
After that, she noticed a clock at the end of the room. 3:30pm. "Oh shoot, I have Magical Herbs in like 10 minutes," Zoe says. "I have to go back to the dorms soon to pick up my textbook. Do you wanna walk with me back to the dorms?"

When Zoe said she had to go, I looked at the clock and saw it was 3:30. "Oh yeah, I've got Defence Against the Dark Arts which I'm really excited for" I say, standing up from my seat and stuffing my books back in my bag. "And since I also need to get my textbook, I can walk with you to the dorms," I declare. I can't believe that it's already been an hour, it felt like only 10 minutes ago that I woke up and came rushing into here. But getting to walk back to the dorms with Zoe is an amazing opportunity for me to get to know her more.
When Zoe was ready to leave, we walked out of the Study Room and to the Grand Staircase. "To answer your question from before," I started, "I am into sports, especially Quidditch like you. I want to be a Professional Quidditch Player when I get older." My Dad as an Auror, has always wanted me to use my spells more than my broom, he always say "when you get into a dangerous situation, what are you gonna do? Call your broom and fly away or use your spells and fight?". That's why before I even got into Hogwarts, he had bought me a bunch of spell books for me to learn, so I'd be top of the class in charms. Obviously I hated charms, and found it extremely tedious, so I never actually read the books, majority of the time I was in my backyard, flying on my broom stick.
I remembered this one time, I was playing an imaginary Quidditch game with my Dad, my Mum was the referee and had the very big and long rule book in one hand while she had a whistle in the other. My Mum called my Dad up on everything, so I got all the chances to score a goal. I also found the golden snitch, which was just a ping pong ball that my Dad had charmed to float and fly around. At the end of the game, the score was 168-0 to me. I remember my Dad lifting me up into the air, while he and my Mum started cheering for me. I was so proud that day, and my Dad even gave me one if his medals that he had won back in his Quidditch playing days at Hogwarts.
"Other than Quidditch, I also signed up for the Broom Racing. I'm not in yet, but I'm on the wait list though." I added. All the sports I had ever done, all had something to do with flying. The only other sport I have done, was at my Muggle School in gym class, when we had to do Soccer. I kept on falling, since I wasn't used to using my feet to kick a ball around.
"Since you also want to do Quidditch, what position do you want to be? I questioned, "I want to be a Chaser."

As they walked through the corridors, Zoe thought about Emma's question from before, something she had already been thinking for a while. What position to be? She knew she'd be a terrible beater, and seeker seemed really stressful. Either chaser or keeper, she thought. Back in her muggle school, she was the goalie for her football team - and she was praised a lot for her performance. Zoe had never actually been on a broom before, since she was raised by a fully muggle family. But she really felt like she had it in her to be a great Quidditch player.
"I'd like to be a keeper ideally, but if that doesn't work out, chaser seems cool too. It's really cool that you've been flying your whole life, I wish I got that opportunity. " Zoe says. She's happy that Emma's into Quidditch as well, who knows, maybe one day they'd both be on the same team. She could totally imagine them being a dream team. They reached Emma's defense of the dark arts classroom, and Zoe waved goodbye, and gave one last bright smile, and skipped back to the Gryffindor dorms, giddy from the high of making a new friend.

When we got to my Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, Zoe waved goodbye, and smiled. I waved and smiled back, turning around, then walking into the classroom. When Zoe said she was thinking of being a keeper, I thought that was great, but I think that her becoming a chaser would be a really fun idea. Because we could both try out for the team, and hopefully get in together, then we'd be the chaser duo. I know that I might be thinking to far ahead, but that's what I tend to do. I usually think about the future, instead of focusing on the present.
I realized that I have just made a new friend, and I'm so happy. Hopefully we run into each other again soon, because I have a feeling that she wouldn't mind a little adventure. After all, that's what Hogwarts is about, making new experiences with your friends, while going on cool adventures. Obviously I want friends in general, but I also want them to be adventurous and curious, and them wanting to try and do new things. I feel like Zoe is like that, but we'll have to wait and see. I haven't made that many new friends yet though, and I'm not entirely sure if Zoe and I are friends yet. But hopefully she thinks of me as one.
