One Friend to Another
Mina huffs and shrugs, “Look, I’ve been complimented many times, by my mother and brother. Even my friends. I meant it was uncommon to get a complement from some one I’ve just met.” She flashes a grin, “I mean. . . Yeah, I have standards. . . But not many people like it when someone they just met is belting out the truth about how they look or something.”
She leans back in her seat, humming, “Well, you eyes certainly are. . . Interesting. Not many people have different colored eyes like that.” She hums, flipping her book open and closed for a moment, before looking down at it, and sighing softly, “Did you expect to get into Hogwarts? Was it something your parents wanted? Did you want it? Did your parents go to Hogwarts?” She bit her lip slightly, realizing she was probably asking too many questions and deciding to go quiet.
Mina really needed to learn to control how much she spoke, it wouldn’t be good if she mouthed off one of the professors and got into trouble, and possibly got house points deducted for doing so. Her mother always told her that at some point she would need to learn to control herself. Mina wasn’t looking forward to learning that, she was never good at control. Especially when it came to speaking her opinions.
