【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】Both of their spells flew straight at Regina. Gem swore under her breath as the Gryffidor dodged her curse. Well, not every spell of hers was going to be a success, right? She shouldered Adelaide’s kind words and braces herself for the other teams’ moves.
But then Adelaide’s hex hit Regina dead on!
Gem brightened and leaned over to give her partner a high five— only to see that the other girl was afflicted with something as well.
“Oh no…” Gem glanced back at Adelaide, unsure whether to laugh as her dueling mate’s feet were sent into a frenzied dance. She shook her head and focused on executing her next spell instead. They were just getting started!【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

Kamila's spell had hit! She smiled. Sweet victory. "Lovely dance," Kamila said sarcastically to Adelaide.
"Thanks," Kamila replied to Akira's compliment. He seemed too also be a good duelist. "You too."
"I accept your challenge." Kamila replied. She never turned down any type of competition. Kamila turned back to face her competitors. Ready for whatever came next.

Jake watched the duel with some nervousness and some fascination. He had no idea how a three-team duel could possibly work, and it seemed like everybody was adjusting their strategy. Adelaide didn't look very happy to be dancing, (which kinda made it look a little bit funnier, Jake had to secretly admit), and maybe that was why she turned her attention to the international team. Gem had missed her bogie hex on the Gryffindors last round, and maybe that was why she turned to try her luck on the other team. Or maybe it was just because nobody had fired at the away team last round, and SOMEBODY was gonna have to or they'd be able to easily pick off whoever was left of the Gryffindor/Ravenclaw battle.
This time both wands turned on the same student, and just as it had last round with Regina, it seemed to be an effective strategy again. Akira would see two spells zooming towards him - and though he might try to duck out of the way, the double attack was effective. He would start to feel sick, his nose beginning to get stuffy and runny. That's how it would start anyway....(Yuck). It would feel quite a bit like having a cold, which would get worse by the second....And with that distraction, a knockback jinx would hit a split-second later, driving Akira backwards.
But the Ravenclaws success would be short-lived. Jake watched the unknown children with fascination. He was still happy HE wasn't having to duel them... The Ravenclaws seemed nervous at the start, then happy when their spells were working - all stuff that Jake understood. But the others...Akira and Kamila...something about them was different. They seemed controlled, too grown-up for their age, like they had been dueling since they were five years old or something. They carried themselves with confidence. Not the braggy kind....the quiet kind. The one, Jake had found out, that was usually a sign that somebody KNEW they were good, and so they didn't have to tell you to prove it.
Adelaide would find this out soon enough, because just a short second later, even with Akira's nose beginning to fill with mucus, and pushed back from the force of Adelaide's blows, the boy would cast a fire-spell that shot forward towards the dancing Adelaide, who would have even more trouble dodging it with her legs acting up without her permission. If dancing wasn't bad enough, a small ember will have lit on the front of her robes from the successful fire spell.
Jake winced. He hated the fire spell...at least this wasn't as bad as the ones he had seen during the year. This flame was smaller, and he hoped it was less likely to burn or hurt....He hoped. Luckily, Adelaide was somehow able to duck out of the way of Kamila's incoming knockback jinx, keeping herself in the fight.
Through all this though, as fast as it was, there were no spells from the Gryffindor team. Though two spells had been cast by all other opponents, the Gryffindors hadn't yet moved, in all of the chaos. Jake looked up at them, waiting, pleading silently for them to act quickly...but he was going to have no choice.
Jake knew what the rules were, and what was supposed to happen if you didn't get into the duel fast enough. Yes, you had to wait until the duel started before you cast. Casting early was the worst thing you could do...but casting late wasn't a lot better. Because the rules said if you didn't fight back in time, it was all the same as a forfeit. And though Jake tried to wait as long as he could, hoping to say the round hadn't ended yet, he knew that if he didn't follow the rules everything would just fall apart. And so for the first time he had to clear his throat and make an announcement.
"Ahem um, the Gryffindor team has um...been...um...well they forfeit...." the Hufflepuff boy mumbled, staring down at the ground, nervous of what they were going to say when they heard him. Nobody wanted to lose a duel, but to lose like that? What if they had just gotten surprised by how quickly the duel started? What if they had just gotten overwhelmed by having to face two teams at the same time, most of the spells coming their way in the chaos? Jake was sure if it was him he would have just froze. Maybe they'd had something on their minds. Or maybe they had just been unable to get their bearings after the barrage of spells. But he would never know WHAT had happened, because the rules were the rules, and the Gryffindors were out.

He couldn't help but smirk to himself as Miss Yavlinsky commented sarcastically on the Ravenclaw girl's dancing. His partner sure had spunk and confidence, with no fear of provoking the opposition, and no hesitating in accepting his little challenge.
The shadow of his smirk was wiped off his face as a Curse of the Bogeys hit him. The feeling was very familiar. A rush of congestion hit his nose, and his head immediately began to throb. Perhaps it was the woozy feeling he got that made him unable to evade the Knockback Jinx at the last second. He grit his teeth as the impact caused him to step back a few steps, but he soon regained his footing and position, mind quite clear on what he intended to do next.
He cast the Fire-Making Spell without mercy or remorse, and it struck with a bit of a vengeance. Inwardly, he was glad that it had created a flame to last the next round. One always risked seeming a little unhinged when casting a spell involving fire, but as long as the rules of dueling allowed it, there was nothing anyone can do or say.
Unfortunately, Miss Yavlinsky's well-cast Knockback Jinx had missed its mark. "Ah, that's too bad. I suppose we're even this round, then," he commented through a sore throat, in response to the fact that he had been stricken by one more spell than he had landed, whereas Miss Yavlinksy had missed a spell she cast.
He readied his wand. He didn't want to lose to the Ravenclaws, or to his partner.

The Gryffindors had forfeited. Chickens. Why would anyone join a dueling team if they did not want to actually duel?
Unfortunately, her spell had not hit, but oh well there was a whole duel ahead of her. From now on she would ensure that her spells hit their target. By the end of this the Ravenclaw team was going to wish they had forfeited like the Gryffindors.
"Yeah, I would agree," Kamila replied to her partner, "Though I wouldn't get too comfortable if I were you."
Kamila focused on her next move. This was her time to shine, and no one was going to stop her.

@Gemima SableAdelaide's eyes narrowed at Kamila's sarcastic remark, but she chose not to respond and instead devoted her concentration to the duel. She wasn't about to let herself get distracted even though she wanted to send an equally sarcastic remark right back at Kamila.
Despite her legs still doing a weird jig, the spell that she had aimed at Akira had hit, and so had Gemima's. "Great job," she smiled at her teammate encouragingly. She couldn't help but smirk as Akira was hit with a Curse of the Bogies only to seconds later get hit by a Knockback Jinx.
Her smirk was wiped off her face quickly after though, because she just couldn't dodge the Incendio aimed straight at her with her legs still dancing and so it hit. She gritted her teeth as a small ember lit the front of her robes aflame. If that wasn't bad enough, Kamila had sent a Knockback Jinx at her seconds later, but luckily she managed to dodge that one.
Adelaide took a deep breath to steady herself as much as she could with her legs still dancing and her robes aflame, losing was the last thing she wanted to do and so she would need to keep concentrating. As the Gryffindors forfeited, Adelaide readied her wand once more.Action: As strategized

She had delivered another Curse of the Bogies with a determined jab of her wand, and seeing the effects manifest successfully was encouraging. She returned Adelaide’s smile, genuinely this time.
Gem yelped in surprise as a spell from the opposing team set Adelaide’s robes ablaze. Well! That deserved a shot back! She surged forward and aimed her wand at the offender, an incantation ready on her lips.【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

Akira sure didn't look so good...
Being sick was no fun, but being sick when you were dueling seemed like the worst. The boy looked sort of pale too, as the congestion would only worsen, like a cold that was growing by the second, his nose stuffed up, and nausea creeping in. Jake hoped he was going to be ok to keep going.
But if Jake thought that anybody would go easy on the sick duelist, he was very wrong. Maybe it was 'cause of that fire spell from the last round, or maybe because he looked woozy, but the Ravenclaws had turned their attention straight to Akira. Gemima sent a dancing-feet spell right to Akira, and Adelaide raised her wand as well, but as she did she would feel a searing pain where her robes had lit. The fire was fading out, just in time, because it seemed it had just reached skin. And though she had attempted to cast a knockback jinx at Akira, she would have found that the combination of her dancing feet and the fiery pain would cause her spell to go wildly off target, so far off target it almost hit her own partner!
Adelaide's feet would stop then, as if shocked back into stillness, but it was a mistake that you shouldn't make around Kamila. The girl saw that distraction and pounced, her spell rocketing towards Gemima, who had almost been attacked by her fellow eagle. The girl wouldn't have time to dodge it, and would soon find herself sneezing. So that made TWO sick duelists. Jake eyed Akira and Gemima. He really wished he'd brought a mask.
But what of Akira's spell? Well, the boy didn't seem like he was going to let sickness stop him from fighting, but his reaction times couldn't be what they were when the duel began. As he raised his wand to try to cast, he would find himself turning in an energetic dance. Gemima's dancing-feet spell had hit its mark, but the turn couldn't have come at a worse time. The boy's own dancing spell went off towards the wrong target, Gemima instead of Adelaide, but luckily Gemima was able to duck out of the way just in time. Did the girl have magnets in her pocket or something? Everything was flying her way today!
Jake saw with some relief that the fire from before had faded. He turned his attention instead to Akira, looking even paler than before, even if his feet didn't seem to know it. Jake really hoped the boy wasn't gonna throw up.
