| === | Reena's mood had gotten better in a matter of seconds, each bite lifted her spirits just a bit more. That must have been why she didn't feel too annoyed when a girl sat next to her. She looked at the girl from the corner of her eye, not saying anything. She's never seen the girl before, which was weird. Then she realized the girl must be from another school. Reena felt a bit bad for her, she knew what it was like traveling to somewhere entirely different than your home. Reena had moved to the UK after living in Costa Rica for about 5 years, and things had been very strange. The girl wasn't moving here, but she would be visiting for the summer. It was at that moment that Reena glanced at the plate in the girl's hands. For the first time since Summer started, Reena sprouted a small smile at the girl. "Pollo Asado, huh?" She guessed that the girl was trying it for the first time. She turned back to her food, struggling to find words. Since when did socializing become so gosh dang hard? She looked at the girl again and back at her plate. She suddenly felt a bit awkward to even eat, but she was still hungry. She picked up her pollo asado taco and took a big bite to save herself from having to talk. She wasn't mad or annoyed at the girl, but she did enjoy sitting alone while it had lasted. Looking up, she spotted a boy making a beeline straight for the bench she was sitting on. Her heart dropped a bit. Oh no no no. Not another person. But sure enough, the boy sat down. She recognized him almost instantly as Bubba, a very entertaining Gryffindor. "Bubba." She said, almost like a question. "uh- you're Bubba right?" She cleared her throat and looked at his plate. This was a joke. He also had Pollo Asado. "I didn't realize Pollo Asado was so... popular. What are the odds." She seemed amused. It was evident the two had only copied what the person before them had said, resulting in the three of them eating one of Reena's favorite foods. Pollo Asado was very flavorful with bold seasoning. To people who weren't used to bold spices like Reena was (she was hispanic after all), it was bound to be a bit spicy. The good thing about Pollo Asado was that it was just enough spicy- never too much. Still, she watched the other two for a reaction at all. This dish wasn't the spiciest, but she did enjoy watching others react to the spice in Hispanic dishes. | === |

Big Annual BBQ

Stephen had not gotten too far out of the tent when he heard Jamie call to him to wait up. He stopped, with one hand in his pocket and the other sliding his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose a bit, just to get a good look at Jamie as he caught up to him. Actually, it was so that Jamie could get a good look at him. It was a politeness, he felt, to make eye contact with people before going dark with the eyes. It was not the brightest part of the day, by any means, but it was never wise to be outdoors without shades. UVA and UVB rays could take a toll on one's eyes, and Stephen knew his future plans called for his vision to be the best it could be. He wasn't a barbarian, however. He'd take them off while eating and socializing. It was the polite thing to do.
"Cool. Glad you joined me. Should we wait for Louca?" Then hearing his stomach rumble, he answered his own question. "Nix that. He can catch up when he's ready and we can save him a seat. Man, everything smells so good. I didn't realize just how hungry I was."
They walked along a few steps and Jamie reminded Stephen of an old cartoon character from the '60s or maybe the '70s called the Tasmanian Devil. The thing was a pure whirlwind of energy and it was Stephen's observation that it was a very apt description of Jamie. Or in more scientific terms, Jamie would for sure be the 'E' in E=mc2 under any circumstance. The boy was exuberant.
"Is this your first Hogwarts summer camp or did you attend last year as well? I missed it last year, but heard it was fun. I have to agree with Miles, though. Summer camp in a professional quidditch stadium seems odd to me, no matter how much I enjoy broom sports."
He was quiet for a few seconds and then added, "Did you know the tents were going to be co-ed? I sure as heck didn't. Not certain how I feel about that yet. I've never slept in a room with girls before. It's going to be weird at first."
Before he knew it, they had reached the staging area for the BBQ. Stephen turned to look behind them. It was a glorious sight below from their vantage point on the hill. "Man that's a lot of tents. So many opportunities for good, clean fun. We should find Bubba at some point. That kid seems to be a real character as well as a boy who wants to prank hard.
But first, I want to see if any Indian food is on tonight's menu."

So much for a good power nap, the Portuguese boy would grumbled internally while walking out from his tent for this summer the day late evening. Ronnie only asked for a few hours or hell even minutes to recharged his energy but no, as usual, Correa (Gregorio Andrade Botín Mirales Correa - Jack Warren) always needs to pick up a fight with Manu (Aly Salinger) wherever the two at.
It seems having an annoying argument between himself and Manu is his favorite pastime. Ronnie should do something every time Correa had an argument or a fight with Manu but Ronnie always stands clear from other people's business. Manu is one of his good friends but Ronnie knows that Manu can hold her ground.
And so after Ronnie put a good distance from his supposed fun summer camp, he grab the itinerary that he got when he stepped inside the establishment. Ronnie then looked down on the itinerary and saw that there was a BBQ in the nearby distance. The blue-grey-eyed boy follows a group of people that likely will go in the same direction as he is.
As Ronnie get nearer and nearer to where the BBQ will be held, he could smell the mouth-watering, sweet, and savory aromas wafting in the air. And just like on schedule, Ronnie's stomach grumbled. He is about to ascend the hill when he hears someone call his name. The fourth-year then turn around and a smile arise on his lips.
"Hey! good evening, Miss Rose,"Ronnie greeted Haley in Portuguese. "I hope you had a good, but short nap?" The redhead asked the Castelo student. Ronnie then playfully blows a raspberry. "Doubtfully,"He switched from Portuguese to English this time. "With Boe, Manu, and Raul in one place, it bound to be a disaster one"Ronnie replied to the soon third-year.
"But before the arrival of the three, I did have a good nap. Thank you for asking"Ronnie told Haley then flashed his dimple smile. Haley then asked the boy how Cash and he met and the reason why his cousin was not in this year's camp. "Cash and I are cousins but don't tell them I told you that,"Ronnie blabbed in Portuguese but then followed by "Cash's mother and my father are long-time friends,"Ronnie then smiled.
He lied to his teeth but a little white lie would not hurt. His mother once said a good foundation of every relationship is good honesty but because Cash told Ronnie not to tell anyone that both of them are related, Ronnie respected their wish. But the Portuguese boy knows that at some point he will tell someone the truth.
Consequences be damned, the Duelist said to himself if day that will come. Cash could be angry at him for all they like but it did not hide the fact both of the students are related to one another. Ronnie was so deep in his thought that he almost missed the second part of the question that Haley asked him. "Um.."Ronnie said.
"I think they will spend it at a friend's house or something,"The dark brown-haired boy informed Haley. "Someone name Caroline or Katherine,"Ronnie continued. "I didn't pay much attention when they told me. Sorry"Ronnie then shrugs his shoulder. While talking to Haley, it seems her attention was diverted to something or someone else o be exact.
Someone name Miles as Haley excitedly screams and waves toward the boy. "Sure. Sure. Go catch up with your friend"Ronnie replied. And not too long after that, Haley makes her beeline towards this Miles lad. Another grumbled sound came from his stomach. Ronnie laughs at himself. The teen then looked around. It was nerve-wracking to be somewhere else for the first time and he did not know anyone.
It seems someone knows someone around here and to be honest, Ronnie needs Cash so he did not feel like a little fish in a big pond. But his cousin is not here at this year's camp and Ronnie needs to suck it up. Ronnie is a big boy and he will fake it until he makes it. And besides, with his sunshine and vibrant persona, he is sure he will make new friends in no time.
As he begin his climb up the hill, he saw someone walks toward Haley and give her a hug. Of course someone as beautiful as Haley she already spoken for, Ronnie thought to himself. He did not know the nature between Charles, Haley, and Miles but from where he stood, he can sense there was something between the three of them.
As Ronnie watched the trio, one of them (Charles) offered him a smile. Ronnie replied by flashing his charming dimples and sending the blonde boy a playful wink. Then his stomach makes a sound again. "Alright, alright,"Ronnie said to no one in particular. He then continued his trek until he arrived at the BBQ station.
Ronnie then place the meal that was already provided onto his paper plate, grabbed the utensils that he needs, and eat away.

Lillian walked slowly to the barbecue, going over her tent members in her mind for the millionth time. Bubba was a familiar face, so that was nice. There were quite a few first years, so that meant she wouldn't be discovering the camp or, hopefully, Hogwarts alone. Astrid, the Durmstrang girl, clearly didn't like some of the Ilvermorny boys, and she was sensing that a fight was going to break out sooner or later. Speaking of which, the Ilvermorny boys were all right, if not a bit wild at times. But, all in all, they were a solid bunch, just not solid enough for a whole month together.
Shaking her head, she hiked up the hill the barbecue was hosted upon and was greeted by oh so many loud students. If it hadn't been open, it might have just been worse than the tent, where she was cooped up with 10 people. Slowly navigating through the groups of students clustered together, she soon stood by the many tables laden with food. To her surprise, she found paper plates and cups, a Muggle thing. She'd expected wizards to have their own alternatives, maybe enchant them for the fun of it, but it seemed that some things stayed the same in both worlds.
She took a bit of food from every table, walking slowly and looking at the other students, seeing what food most of them seemed to gravitate towards and then taking a bit of it, too. She figured going with the popular choice from each kind of food would do no harm. Finally, with her plate piled high, she looked around for a place to sit.
She spotted some of the boys from her tent gathered in a group, and quickly discarded that idea. Then, she saw EmmaLee sitting alone at a table. She made her way over to her slowly, wondering if that was okay. EmmaLee had probably been the friendliest from their tent, and Lillian didn't think she minded company. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked, hovering at the table but waiting for an affirmation before sitting down.

He happily fell into step alongside the other boy. He had been planning to just book it over to the barbecue area, like he usually did, but he was interested in talking with Schwartz here. The guy seemed pretty cool.
"Totally. I wonder what they're gonna have there?" Jamie replied. "I've been to a lot of other summer camps, 'cause my moms say that I need to get out of the house more, even though I already do? I dunno, they're weird sometimes."
He shrugged and continued. "Anyway, this is the first magic summer camp I've been to. It's still so bizarre, you know, man? 'Cause I didn't even know I was a wizard a year ago. And now look!"
Jamie halted and excitedly gestured at the whole stadium. All the sights, sounds, and smells! Not to mention the sparks from wands, and the whooshing of brooms flying through the air.
"It's insane!" He hurried back over to Stephen, before adding: "Oh yeah, speaking of broom stuff, I'm actually our Seeker! For Quidditch. So you'll for sure see me up in the sky."
The redhead took the small moment of silence to give Stephen a real good once-over. His face was vaguely familiar to him. Did they have any classes together back at Ilvermorny? Even if they did, Jamie was starting to regret not meeting the boy sooner. He seemed very intelligent and put together. Like someone you could really rely on when things got tough, and who could break you out of trouble. He was a handsome dude too, with his pretty golden brown hair and sparkly blue eyes.
"I've never slept in a room with girls before. It's going to be weird at first." Stephen mused.
Jamie realized he'd been staring. "Pssh! It's not that bad once you get used to it. I have a sister, and she likes to 'monitor' me so I don't get into any 'trouble.' So you could say I'm ok around girls." He coughed awkwardly and hoped that Stephen hadn't noticed the slight reddening of his cheeks.
Fortunately, they had come across the barbecue venue. Jamie grinned and sucked in the delicious, savory smoke that was already wafting through the air.
"Yeah, let's find the guys," he agreed. "We need to form an Ilvermorny squad or something! Like the American boys, you know? I think Bubba's from the US too, actually."
He looked back at Stephen and bounced eagerly. "Ready when you are, Schwartz!"

EmmaLee had chosen a table that was in good view of the path that led to the tents. As she ate, she could see all of the students who were coming to the BBQ from their tents, including her tentmates. She had taken off partly because of hunger and partly because of how overwhelming meeting 9 people in a couple of hours was. They seemed like a pretty good group to her, although a couple of the boys were loud and there was apparently a conflict between Astrid and Louca, but that would most likely even out....maybe. Hopefully they could at least tolerate each other.
She saw the American Hogwarts boy, Bubba, come into the area, order food and sit down with a couple of girls who seemed his age. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about him, yet. He was loud and opinionated and definitely seemed to want to get the most fun out of being here.
His accent was definitely American, but he was going to Hogwarts. She wondered if he had a story similar to hers and made a note to ask him about how he ended up going to Hogwarts.
As she ruminated on that thought, she saw Stephen and Jamie come into the area to get food as well. All of the Ilvermorny boys seemed to at least know of each other, if they weren't all friends already. Jamie and Louca were also loud and boisterous. She thought those two and Bubba were probably going to make fast friends once they were able to put their heads together for five minutes. The whirlwind of introductions did not present itself well to actually getting to know one another. Maybe the information sheets Miles had them fill out would be helpful in that area. In any case, she was hoping that their boisterousness wasn't constant and was just the excitement of getting to camp. Hopefully they would tone down at least a little...maybe.
Stephen and Miles both seemed a lot more mild mannered and both seemed very friendly. Well, everyone did seem friendly and more or less ready to get along. It would be interesting to watch their tent dynamic overall. All of the girls seemed like they would definitely get along. She was not sure about the over all collective.
As she thought over all of the events and meeting people of the last few hours, she slowly worked her way through her food and had finally gotten to her coeur à la crème with strawberry topping when she saw Lillian walking over to her her table. She smiled widely and waved as Lillian asked if she could sit with her. EmmaLee swallowed the bite of food in her mouth and said, "Not at all, Lillian. Sit, sit. All of this is a little overwhelming isn't it?" She waved her pale hands over the seat across for her and chuckled a little. "I am glad that I ended up with tent mates in my own year. So I am not figuring this out all alone."

River was, to say the least, tired. She had traveled from her home in France to get here, and to make it worse she had had to travel with her sister. it had taken them hours to get there, River blamed how long it too on the fact that she had had to let her sister use her shiny new Nimbus 1500, and River herself had had to use her older -and therefore in her mind worse- Silver Arrow. It had been a few very sleepless nights for her, after they had arrived a few nights ago in London they had stayed in a small hotel room, it had been cramped and had brought bad memories back to all the family members.Writing as NPC River Fayre, Open to one or two interactions
Her eyes scanned the area for her sister, the prat was most likely chatting with her friends.
Friends. River did not have many of those. and if she did manage to make them, they never stuck around too long. BLAH! Who needs friends anyways? River did.
She sat down with a thump and banged her hand on the table, already in a mood.
"Cette garce ferait mieux de me rendre mon balai." That Bitch better return my Broom to me. she muttered darkly. If anyone crossed her path they would 100% risk loosing their head to her.
She took something off a nearby plate and started to eat it, she had no idea what it was she guessed some sort of crappy food from some country she had never been to.
"Bleh!" She got some water and quickly drank it all, whatever that had been it had been gross.
The French girl put her cup of water down and sat there, brooding. Even when she was brooding she somehow managed to look beautiful, her hair pulled up into a tiny and tight bun, and her face held in a way that showed almost no emotion.
She had often been teased by her family that she should have been named Fire not River, maybe they were right.

Lillian smiled gratefully and sat down across from EmmaLee. She hadn't really expected EmmaLee to decline, partly out of courtesy and partly because she seemed to be the friendliest one from the bunch. Looking down at her plate, she came to the startling realization that she probably wouldn't be able to eat all this, but then decided she might as well try.
When EmmaLee spoke, she swallowed quickly before speaking. "I felt the same way before coming here. Worried about being shoved into a new place with all these new people. I have to say I do feel better seeing others in the same predicament. That's not selfish, is it?" She laughed it off, but she was curious. She didn't want people to think she delighted at their nervousness. It was just comforting to see that she wasn't alone in her thoughts.
"I guess our tentmates are pretty nice. We're a bit of a mixed bunch, though, and that makes me a little nervous. I don't think all of us will be getting along for the whole month." She finally voiced the thought that had been plaguing her ever since she set foot in the tent, and felt a great sense of relief. She wondered if EmmaLee had thought of that already, or if it was now a worry that would shadow her the same way it shadowed Lillian.
She didn't really want the latter thought to be correct. Lillian definitely didn't want to be responsible for causing worry, however minute. It wasn't really a big deal; at least, that was what she kept saying to herself. Fights happened, conflict happened. She just wasn't a fan of the thought that, if they did occur, she would have nowhere to go and be alone. She had chosen a bunk in the corner of the tent in the hopes that she might be able to reserve some sort of privacy, but she wasn't counting on it.

@Cassandra Ironwoods as Ronnie @Simon Kincaid as Miles@Henry Knight as CharlesHaley hadn't even noticed that Charles had approached the three of them and was all the more delighted when the tall blonde stood in front of her. She smiled as broadly as she could and if she could, she would have done a backflip. She loved Charles, in a friendship brother sister way. "Hello brother." She greeted him with a wink and almost jumped into his hug, taking him as tightly as she could. "It's so so so nice to see you!" she murmured against his upper body before they released their embrace again.
Of course, Charles positioning was not lost on her, but she knew him well by now and so she shook her head with a grin as she grabbed him by both shoulders and tried to push him lightly to one side. "This is Miles. A friend from America and this year's champion." She introduced him to Charles. But his attention was clearly on the other of the two boys and she couldn't blame him. "And this is Ronnie." Haley grinned between the two of them. "I would have loved to share a tent with you but no need to worrie. Ronnie here suggested I join him and a few friends or schoolmates in the tent and that's where I'm staying now. I think we'll have our fun." She winked at Ronnie at the last part before he finally made his way to dinner.
Charles look had not escaped her of course, she turned to Miles "Hope to see you again later." She said goodbye for the moment, pulling Charles along by the hand. When they were both alone now she looked at him and only whispered "I know!" to return to his gaze. "He is cute." She said as she looked in Ronnie's direction. "Both are." She muttered after him, trying to suppress a grin.
She turned her attention back to Charles. She was glad for every moment they could spend together and it was great that they now had a month before he had to leave again. She reached for his hand and looked at his nails. "I like it. It suits you." She commented with a smile. "How are you?" she inquired, knowing that they hardly had time to talk about anything now. "We should meet for a nightly gossip talk session." She added with a wink.
Meanwhile, Haley's stomach was also starting to grumble, with all the excitement and joy she had forgotten how hungry she had already come here. "I need food." She stated and looked to her next destination, where she also saw Ronnie again. "And I wanted to chat with Ronnie some more." She added, what a coincidence. "You gonna join me?" she now addressed Charles directly and her feet set off for her next destination. With or without him, depending on what Charles decided.

Charles kept his spot besides Haley, barley glancing at the american whom Haley introduced. At the mention of champions, Charles laughed a little. Eyeing the american as he spoke"why would care if your the american champion?" The ten eyed Miles, standing tall. Easily hovering over him, eyes studying him as he spoke"I don't but if you want I could tell another on the durmstrang team and maybe they'll give a shit about you." A nod then Charles turned his back on the american, resting a arm on Haley's shoulder. Leaning close to her, gesturing toward Ronnie with his eyes as he whispered"what's his name?"
Ronnie. Charles smiled, staring at the lad at the food tables. His palms felt warm and stomach turned, strange. The teen stared, suddenly longing for food even though he ate lunch a few hours ago. Leaning close to Haley, arm hanging over her shoulder as the american departed from them. Words turned to whsipers. The teen smiled halfway at Haley comments to Miles, leaning close as he whispered"not after the tournament, I'll bet you the horntails crush him like a bug," Haley was one of the first he wrote to after getting a spot on the durmstrang hexwizard team, also known as the Horntail Horde. Not needing to worry about explaining the name to her as he stared at Ronnie, something about the boy drawn him closer... unable to take his eyes from him.
Nodding to Haley words before he realized that she said both. Charles eyed her, smiling at the girl a bit, she was like a sister to him so it felt a tad strange dicussing these topics with her but also he couldn't find a better person to dicuss them with. Leaning close as he whispered"are you referring to another or did we see two different Americans?" Smiling, the teen nodded slightly toward Ronnie as he spoke"That mate is hot, one of the cutest blokes at the camp I seen yet," Mind turning. Flashes of Alec and Johannes as his eyes stared, widening at Ronnie.
At the pull of his hand by Haley, the blonde looked back over the red head. Remembering, the camp is suppose to be the time for him to spend with her and his friends. Nodding, to her words on the polish. Smiling, the classic half one as he spoke"did it over the summer, I'm glad you like it," the words. Question. They don't get the chance to speak much anymore, often resulting to letters but Charles certainly missed speaking with her as he spoke"fine, not much changed since our last letter. How are you?" Falling into conversation, where they last left off. Almost as if they never missed a step. The words, nightly gossip? It could distract him from the masculinity and shouts from the Horntail tent during the nights, nodding to Haley as he spoke"meet after dinner then, on the edge of camp?"
Arm hanging over Haley's shoulders as his eyes drifted back over to Ronnie. The thumping of his heart echoed in his ear, his chest started to grew tight. Rubbing at his chest with his free hand for a moment before dropping it, the tightness still felt as he stared ahead. Stared at Ronnie. A gentle, soft smile touched his lips.
Food? The teen took a step back to reality, eyeing down Haley as the mention of food. The blonde nodded a bit to the words as he spoke"yeah, sure. That sounds good, after you miss Rose." Eyes switching back to Ronnie from Haley, smiling softly at the lad before his mind ecoched Haley's words. Looking back. Staring at the red head, at his sister as he spoke"I will join you but isn't Ronnie rather too young for you? Perhaps the american but don't worry I'll chat with Ronnie and tell you all about it, Sister." The teen would then wrap his arms around Haley, kneeling a bit to allow himself to rest his head on her shoulder for a moment.
Holding her close before letting go of her, falling into step with Haley as he loosely crossed his arms over his chest.
Walking toward the table laid with food, Charles would grab a plate from the end and give Haley a quick smile before piling his plate with differnt sort of food. Walking over to the table where the lad, Ronnie sat, stopping in front of him, the blonde would smile softly with the plate in hand as he lightly tapped Ronnie's shoulder. Once he would get his attention, Charles would speak"Hello, apologies to disturb you but I had to meet the illuminating star that is the talk of his camp," The blonde is use to flirting but they it usually was done to those he didn't feel anytning for. Ronnie is different. His heart echoed in his ears as he spoke to the lad.
"I don't think I had the pleasure of meeting you, I'm Charles. Charles Alluring, chaser for the durmstrang team and apart of the durmstrang hexwizard team," Charles spoke. This would be the first time he introduced himself as a quidditch player or on the hex team. The teen really didn't care about either title but standing in front of Ronnie... something bubbled within. The blonde nodded toward the table as he spoke"mind if I join you?" A gentle smile as he remembered the sweets he took from the Horntail tent.
A portion of the sweets he grabbed is for Haley and the international student squad, the rest he didn't see why he couldn't give it to Ronnie... the teen reached a hand inside his inner jacket pocket. Pulling from it a packet of skittles, sourhead packet, and chocolate bar. The teen would offer the sweets to Ronnie as he spoke"would you care for a sweet?" Eyes focused on Ronnie, smiling softly.
