Surprise! PV Bailey's Surprise Birthday Party

Attire: Usual weekend kit: Slytherin pride, neck ring, kilt, no shoes. Nothing fancy!

Colin couldn't wait to get out of the Slytherin common room and head up the stairs towards the freedom of the outdoors! He'd picked out a light red shirt and coloured his hair different purples for the occasion, which of course was Bailey's birthday! Other than the shirt, he just wore his usual weekend kit. Once he was sorted, Colin turned his attention towards the presents he'd gotten for Bailey, and those he'd done a proper wrapping job on himself!

Well, if you count wads of spellotape and different pieces of paper he'd coloured himself a proper wrapping job... He hoped Bailey would like it regardless, and anyway, who really pays attention to the wrapping anyway? Satisfied that everything was wrapped properly, Colin headed out! Once out in the corridor, he skidded around the corner then skipped along until he got to the stairs. All 643,922 of them! It didn't seem so bad if you counted by myriads! And soon Colin was out the door and into the courtyard.

There, he kicked off his shoes and yanked off his socks and tied the lot to his stick along with Bailey's presents. And with a few happy yips, he took off at a run through the courtyard, out the gate, down the green lawns, across the broad meadows and down to the loch below the castle! He couldn't miss the appointed place. It was all white and gold and fancy and looked like a fairy tale wedding would soon take place and not a birthday party.

Looks like Pax was just arriving as he was. She was greeting Kim and Sophia. Without a sound, he snuck up behind her poked her in the ribs and called out: "HUNTER!! Hey SophiKims!" He gave the Sophia half a big hug and turned to deposit his gifts at the table along with the others. One of them was a long and narrow affair and wrapped up therein was a brand new shilelagh, a walking stick very much like Colin's own.

In the smaller package were two books, both from Colin's seanmamó. One was an old magical cookery book from Canada and the other was book on fighting forms. She'd written a little note for Bailey, too:

Our Colin tells us you like to bake and you like to fight and you're not afraid to bash a boy that gives you any Trouble. Good for you on both counts kiddo! Only you mind who you go around bashing, or you'll end up snogging him next!

After leaving off his gifts, Colin went round to see who else was there. "Hey Quinn!!" he called out and waved. He waved at Emily, too, and then saw AngelFyre with a boy --- he knew who that must be! "Hey Fyre Angel!! --- And you have to be Simon! I'm Colin." He bowed to them both. "I won't bother you two. Just wanted to say hi! Talk to you later!"

With that, he turned and found Quinn. She was sitting in the grass enjoying the day. He sat down next to her. "Can you believe it Quinn? We're almost done first year!" He gave her a playful punch on the shoulder. "What are you doing this summer? I think I might go to the summer camp, but we'll have to see what Ma says first."

Noah wore his best for the day. He had a gift for one of his best friends, as it was her birthday. Noah had to walk in, a smile upon his face. He knew that once he saw Bailey, he would give her.. a gift he asked his fathers to buy for her, but still tried to keep it cheap so his parents didn't go above and beyond and end up going broke. They didn't make much after all.

What Noah got for Bailey, consisted of a box, inside was three rings. Maybe Bailey played Dungeons and Dragons, maybe she roleplayed, but even if she didn't, maybe she would like the sword ring more.

The first ring consisted of a band, and then as it came together at a point, it formed a hand, tightly clutching a d20. The second ring was of silver, and had a sword handle form as the band's closing point, extending the handle to the blade. The third was the rare collectible Night of the Living Dummy ring with 3D hologram.

Underneath the container holding the rings, if she picked it up out of the box, had a fancy set of odd dice, made for Tabletop Roleplaying games, and a tiny metallic figurine looking like Bailey, holding a sword in a fighter stance (Image not included, sowwy Bailey I need to make it first o.o but hopefully ill be done before you leave). But it was Bailey, with elvish ears. The other things in there, was a pack of twenty four goosebumps postcards (vintage), a 1996 figurine of Slappy (rare and vintage), and the Monster Blood IV book, the rarest of the Monster Blood arc.

He hoped Bailey would enjoy all this, because it cost his parents a hot amount of money for this. And it was for someone he loved. Bailey stuck with Noah, even though he called her Homework Thief, and the box containing all of previously listed was labelled Homework Thief, he liked Bailey, as a friend, in fact, more so, he wanted to show that he would be a great best friend.

Also, he put a letter that was stuffed in his pocket, on top of the box, to give to Bailey, or whoever was closer to him to give to Bailey.

Bailey, each of the items in this box, resemble the amount of trust and friendship I have met and understood and got to experience with you. And, don't worry so much about "Homework Thief." It's just a nickname I have for you now, and I mean it with love. Don't hate me, especially on your birthday.

You stand out from the crowd for being so amazing, so astonishing, and so... worth it. Any guy, or gal would be lucky to have you. Your parents were lucky to have you. I'm lucky to have a friend like you. Your help with The Scream has been amazing, and I'm afraid I can't go any further due to possible higherups snatching the letter away.

Listen to me. You will move mountains. You are a hero in a world of people. You are awesome. You are Bailey. You are Homework
Thief!

Keep going in life and prove that you are meant to be there! Don't be pushed around, like me. Don't worry about the fact that you're another year closer to your death, but that you're growing wiser. That's all that's meaningful. And the fact that I intended to bring a head cake of you, without the body. The base of the board would've been red, which im sure you know what it means since it's just a head. But I thought against it.

Waking up, Bailey was excited! It was her 13th birthday, and plus Kim had asked her to to meet him at her common room entrance for a ‘date’ of sorts, to celebrate her birthday!

After eating a quick breakfast of chocolate chip waffles with sprinkles and whipped cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and chocolate milk (she decided to spoil herself- it was her birthday, after all) Bailey headed back to her dorm to change and meet Kim.

After waiting no more than 15 minutes outside of her dorm, Kim showed up, and led her outside, saying that they were taking a walk. Bailey was happy to do so, and they chatted about a few things, like Kim’s now blond hair, and the final exams and such.
Once they were outside and a little but away from the castle, he gave her a blindfold made out of a blue bandana, and took her hand, leading her. She felt like she was going down a hill, and figured hum.. maybe Kim set up a picnic by the lake?
Unbeknownst to Bailey, this was quite similar to the truth.

Walking down the hill, Bailey was happy she agreed to spend time with Kim. They were good friends, and had been for a while. Even though they thought they didn’t know each other while they were owl pals, it turns out they actually met in the fall of 2021!

At the top of a small hill, somewhere near the lake, Kim told her to stop. He counted down, “3….2……1……” as he lifted the blindfold off.
Opening her eyes, Bailey saw the beautiful set up- there was a beautiful set up. It had white curtains, and the tables, with quite a few chairs, has white tablecloths and flowers on them. Surprised, Bailey stepped back when a bunch of her friends popped up from behind the chairs and table and such, saying things like “Happy Birthday!” And “Suprise!”
Bailey spotted Quinn, Colin, AF, Noah, Simon, Emma, and several other people.
Turning to Kim, Bailey smiled at him and hugged him, saying “Kim! Did you set all of this up? You really did not have to!”

As AngelFyre was hearing from Kim that Simon had also offered to help, she smiled. No surprise to her there. "Absolutely. We will both be happy to help you with the game," she assured him and then excused herself as Kim played gracious host to more party arrivals. One approaching party guest brought an immediate smile to her lips as she saw Colin walking up to the party. Turning to find Simon who was getting some water, she happily walked over to him as his back was turned to her. Temptation never being something she could entirely control when around him, she reached up and stroked the base of his neck at his hairline with the balls of her fingers. She could have gone all out with fingernails delving into his luscious locks, but that would best be done when alone. The balls of her fingers were enough to get his attention now, as she knew they would.

"You know, you bear a remarkable resemblance to someone I hoped I might see here today. His name is Simon Kincaid. Perhaps you know him? Devastatingly handsome bloke. Would you happen to have seen him? He owes me one or two or twenty thousand kisses, I believe. Not really certain on the exact total. We kind of operate on a sliding scale with those," and her eyes were sparkling as her smile lit up her face as he turned in her direction.

Before Simon had had a chance to respond, Colin approached with the now very familiar switch up of her name spoken in his lovely Scottish brogue. And before AngelFyre had a chance to say anything, Colin introduced himself to Simon. An enormous grin had to be playing across her face. She had wanted to have these two meet for quite a while now. Honestly, it astonished AngelFyre that she had actually met and befriended someone before Simon had, and Colin was especially hard to miss, but they were meeting now and that was what mattered. And just as quickly as he came, Colin left, but not before doing the Colin thing and bowing graciously. If these two boys, similar in all the most important ways, were not destined to be good friends, then all AngelFyre could think was that the earth must have moved off of its axis.

Reaching for Simon's hand and leaning into him, she just looked at everyone and everything going on around them. It was starting to get very busy and she was glad Simon was close. This was the type of situation where he he would get his battery charged and hers would lose its charge.Funny how that worked with them, but they did make it work. Kim interrupted her thoughts when he said he was going to get Bailey and that they should all hide.

Yay! The fun was about to begin. And there would be cake later. Win-win situation right there, made better by hiding in make-believe close quarters with Simon. "Let us say that sliding scale on kisses owed is on the higher end. Our contract did say I could request payment at any time, and well," she looked off to her right and then she craned her neck around to look off towards Simon's left. "We seem to be the only ones here behind the gift trunk, so I think I am going to have to demand payment.... even if just a down payment is all you can manage," and she chuckled while looking at him expectantly.

A few minutes later and a good dint made on the debt owed, everyone had grown quiet as Kim and Bailey approached. Looking at each other and counting to three silently with fingers, she shot up from behind the trunk and yelled "Happy Birthday, Bailey!"

Colin liked chatting with Quinn. "Do you know, Quinn, out of everyone here, you're about my oldest friends at Hogwarts? And Jarael, of course! I wish she were here, too..." A big smile crept across his face as he thought about his Eyes of Sky. "I'll bet we'll get into all kinds of trouble next year, Quinn. I know!" He looked around to make sure no one else was listening in. "We should sneak into the Forbidden Forest! That would be brilliant!"

Colin grinned as Quinn talked about visiting her Grandma. He gave her a wink. "I'll bet she can teach you all kinds of things!" He leaned in to whisper in Quinn's ear. "You should try making yourself look like Bailey --- that would give everyone a surprise!"

He leaned back laughing and about then hushed whispers of excitement indicated the imminent arrival of none other than Bailey Glade, Birthday Girl herself! "Oh! Come on Quinn! I think she's here!" Colin got up to hide behind something as Kim dragged a blindfolded Bailey along by the hand. At the appropriate time, he sang out with everyone else:

BAAAAIIIILLLLEEEEYYYY GLAAAADE!!!!

The look on Kim's face as Bailey hugged him was precious. He'd noticed that Kim always seemed uncomfortable around people, and he thought that was really odd because he'd always felt that Kim was extremely gregarious and was surely to be found in the middle of any social gathering. Odder still, after Bailey left his side, Kim seemed to be engaged in a rather animated conversation with his pocket. Nothing unusual there. Colin himself often had a mouse or two in his own pockets that required talking to. He wondered if they didn't have something more in common...

The crowd around Bailey was pretty thick at the moment, so Colin decided to hang back for a while. Besides, Kim's flurry of activity was most interesting. That and he saw that Simon also seemed to be a little flustered about something! It seemed that there was quite a lot going on at this party!
