Too Close to the Water
Hunter gave a very surprised look and blushed more when Judith placed her head against his lap. He wasn't expecting the date to turn out like this, especially since they were alone together. It was nice, but Hunter wasn't the most familiar when it came to these sorts of situations. Despite the rush of blood to the head, he was capable of listening and keeping track of what the girl was saying. Curious and diligent, Judith was the only person Hunter didn't record in his notebook. For some reason, she was the only person he could actually remember the most about (besides family).
He was still a bit unfamiliar with the religious knowledge of Judaism but always gave a curious and enjoyable look towards Judith's words as she explained bits and pieces of the belief, "So, what exactly are the duties of a pre-, I mean Cohen?" The boy was curious, but he asked the question to see Judith smile a bit more. She really seemed to enjoy talking about the subject and Hunter was always open to learning a few more things.
As for her comment about being half-goblin, Hunter's eyes grew slightly large as he chuckled, "Well, I had no clue. Would explain why you are so short," he couldn't help but laugh. Judith was one of the very few people to make him laugh, she was the only one who could make him drop his guard. She was really special to him, and he of course hoped he was to her: "Does this mean you have a goblin name? I know some people sometimes have two names due to different languages and cultures. In fact, is Judith your English or Hebrew name? Both?"
Of course, though, Hunter's mind would go a little bit bleak and slight paranoia would creep in at certain thoughts. He debated of asking the question, but his worried nature got the best of him: "Umm... would your parents even like me? I mean, I'm not Jewish, nor part goblin." The words were whispered with fear, as the boy began to realize and question if his own family would accept Judith. Hunter was a part of a pureblood line of African descent. His grandmother of old ways most likely wouldn't be accepting, but his mother would be. His father he was unsure about, as Hunter was an only child and it could mean all sorts of things. He breathed and took deep breaths to calm himself. Judith's smile reassured him and he calmed down. As she began to speak about the beauty of the world, he looked up towards the sky to see the clouds, the dancing leaves, and the small flock of birds passing by. He turned back towards Judith and gave another small chuckle. Despite his lack of belief in a higher being, he couldn't help but say, "The best of G-d's gifts would be you."

Judith was glad to see that Hunter seemed to be interested in her believes. She obviously would never really force Hunter into learning more about it, but it was nice to see his interest. Her religion was really important to her. Altho she wasn't able to practice it as much as she'd want to at the moment, she felt like every bit counted and whatever she did, it was a act from her heart and that's what really mattered to her. She giggled a bit when Hunter asked the question. "Well, for me? Nothing. Cohanism, or the being of a Cohen, is passed through from father to son. So for one, my father isn't a cohen, since he never was/is Jewish, and i'm not a son, so i'm not a cohen either. But if i where, at this time, also not really much, there are some things, like extra prayers and jobs like there's this thing that when you get your first born son, you have to pay an amount of shekels (Israeli money) to the Cohen. But that's super complicated. Cohanim, have a bigger role when the Beit Hamikdash was still standing, those are the holy tempels who where distroyed years ago. We still mourn for them until this day." She said. She felt like ramping all over the subject so decided to take a breath and just listen to Hunter
Judith laughed about the comment Hunter made about her hight. She indeed was short because of her goblin being, thanks to her father. But she enjoyed the small being and really didn't feel bothered by it at all. "Hahaha, yeps indeed! That's why i'm short. And i don't really have a goblin name, but i indeed do have a hebrew name. When soemone would pray for me, they would call me: Yehudit Devorah Bat V'Madelaine. My moms name is Madelaine, and when we pray we always say (Name + daughter of name) So my full hebrew name is Yehudit Devorah!"
Judith could't help but burst into laughed when Hunter Asked if her parents would like him. First because her father himself was not Jewish, so her mom wouldn't really be able to judge it at all. But it also brought joy into her, because him wondering if her parents would like her, did that made them officially dating or, was it just asked as close friends? "Uhm, well i don't think they'd mind at all. My father is non jewish, my mom married a non jew, so i don't think they'd have a problem with it at all. But... You might have to marry me at 16 to seal our love and for her to know you won't break my heart, but ofcourse i assume that's no issue right?" She said jokingly. Holding in her laugher waiting for his responce.
Judith's heart totally melted when Hunter told said she's the best gift g-d could grant him. For a second she had no idea what to say. She got up, to make sure she had a straight look at him. "Blessed be g-d for giving me such a special soul to spend my days with" She said, leaned towards, and sealed her sentence with a kiss.
