Rosie watched Rhea dunk her head in the water, with a little bit of confusion in her facial expression. Did she... Not want the red anymore? Was that the point? It was only a little confusing. Oh well, Rhea looked fine either way. She smiled when Rhea went to the sand, and Rosie followed suit, sitting down next to her. She was still a bit... Confused, by the glimpse she got from the trees, but she didn't push on it. Rosie must've been seeing things, or something. She squeezed some water out of her curly hair and sighed, knowing her hair would be a curly, bouncy, humid mess soon. And that always sucked. She recalled a moment in March where Max called her a clown because her hair was extra poofy and her nose was red from a sun burn she had received from Flying class. He was stinky.

But anyways, she stiffened up a bit when Rhea's hands were red from the hair dye. It still looked like blood a little bit, and it just unsettled her. Rosie looked up to her eyes, just anything but her hands. And thus, she continued the conversatio n. "Yeah, I like to come out here a lot. I was out here with Adam the other day, we were watching the clouds. And I picked out a dinosaur head! It was cool."

Deciding that there was no point in paying attention to her hair anymore, Rhea turned her attention to the view around her. It was a perfect time to come out to swim by the Lake, and Rhea was glad she'd picked precisely this time. It was the time frame between sunset and evening, when the sky was deciding which colours it wanted to be - at the moment, it seemed as if it was confused and decided to simply be all the colours it possibly could be. Red, orange, pink, purple, blue - you name it. It was beautiful, and it was then that Rhea realized what Rosie was talking about when she said she came out here to calm down. The way the colours all balanced each other out was so beautiful it could calm down even the most worked up of people. Which might just have been Rhea before she'd come out here. Thankfully, the peaceful sky seemed to be doing its job - as well as just spending some quality time with her friend. Rhea already felt herself more relaxed, the week's - hell, maybe even month's - events leaving her mind. For some reason, as she stared at the sky, she realized that there was no point in dwelling on the negative. She wasn't here to nag and complain. No, she was here to spend time with Rosie Parker.

It was getting late, but the night was far from over. There were still many things that could be done in the dark, but even still, it wasn't completely dark. There were still slivers of light shining through the clouds that had journeyed to cover the sun, giving the sky an ethereal look. It looked like the sky was ready to explode, with the clouds just barely able to hold the explosion in. The fact that she was here with someone else almost completely slipped her mind as she was taken hostage by the sight that was the current sky.

"It's so beautiful," the eleven year old breathed. Never in her short life had she seen something as beautiful as this. During sunsets, she'd always been stuck indoors - be it at some sort of pureblood party or simply because she wasn't allowed to go outside, Rhea had never seen the sunset in all its expansiveness. Sure, she'd caught glimpses here and there... but never completely. It was enthralling. Rhea never wanted to leave.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when Rosie spoke. Oh right, Rosie's here too. The Hufflepuff spoke of this place as if she'd been here a lot. Rhea scrunched her eyebrows and thought back to how many times she'd been out there. Three times, maybe four? She couldn't be too sure. But, she knew that it wasn't a lot. It was from this day forward that Rhea decided she would come out here, to this very spot, and watch the sunset. Every. Single. Day. She would make up for all the sunsets she'd missed, for this childhood bit that she'd missed.

Rhea nodded along to what Rosie was saying, but her attention was caught when she heard the words 'dinosaur head.' A dinosaur head?! Here, at Hogwarts?! Weren't they almost 100 meters wide and 1 ton?! How in the world had Rosie managed to find a dinosaur head?! The redhead voiced her concerns, eyes widening.

"How did you find a dinosaur head?!" she exclaimed, leaning forward in interest. "Did you bring it inside? Can I see it?" In typical eleven year old fashion, Rhea kept on questioning the brunette ceaselessly. She wouldn't stop until she got her answers. Perks of being raised by a pureblood family - she learned to always get her way, right?

Rosie caught Rhea looking at the sunset, and followed her gaze. It was beautiful. She always used to watch them in the tree house her and dad built. Well, her dad more or less built all of it, but Rosie helped paint it, that was for sure. It had her own touch. It also had an opening, where Rosie would stargaze with her baby brother in her arms. Good memories. She wondered how her brother was doing now. Benny was always a handful. She hoped he wasn't causing her father...s.. Too much trouble. She huffed and smiled, nodding with Rhea. "It really is beautiful, isn't it?" She smiled, glancing over her shoulder. "Sunsets are gorgeous." She said, softly. "They bring you a sense of comfort.."

When Rhea started asking her about the dinosaur head, Rosie started laughing. She found it funny that Rhea thought the head was real. Dinosaurs were extinct... As far as Rosie knew. But maybe there were still out there. "No, no! Like a cloud! Cloud gazing! Adam introduced me to it. It's like star gazing, but instead, you're watching the clouds. And you pick out shapes the clouds make. One of them were shaped like a dinosaur head. You can't actually touch it, they're too far up for me to even come close to touching a cloud."

She realized she was babbling again and blushed, looking back up at the sky. "It's so surreal, the sky. It's just a vast.. Really long space of just... blue. A really pretty blue," she turned back to Rhea, her smile soft and warm, "wouldn't you agree, Rhea?"

“the great thing about new friends is that they bring energy to your soul.”
Sunsets, as Rhea learned, were a universally liked thing. Even at home, she would stay out late and risk the wrath of her parents just to watch the sunset. Some might question if it was worth it - to which Rhea would reply that without a doubt, it was. She would run across hot coals for a chance to glimpse the sunset - okay, maybe that was an exaggeration. But the point was made.

Rhea turned to look at Rosie, who was admiring the sunset as well. The brunette looked dazed, as if seeing the sunset caused her nostalgia. It definitely caused some nostalgia to rush through Rhea's mind; most of the memories were good ones, although there was the occasional bad one. That was when Rhea stayed out much too late to watch the sunset. Nevertheless, the young Bishop girl associated the sunset with happiness, relaxation. Just like Rosie said.

In response to Rhea's questions about the dinosaur head, Rosie just laughed and reassured the ginger that dinosaurs were, in fact, extinct. She explained that it was simply a game of cloud watching, and the more Rosie talked about it the more Rhea wanted to try it. She laid down on the ground and adjusted her position so instead of looking up and seeing tree leaves, she would see the dim blue sky. With the coming of night, the sun slowly started to drift away, leaving the sky a darker hue of blue.  There were still faint splatters of clouds scattered across the vast expanse, and Rhea simply looked up at them for a bit. She listened to the sound of the lake softly lapping against the shore; the sounds of the nocturnal animals coming out from the nearby forest, even just the animals scurrying in the trees above them; everything there was to hear, Rhea heard. She also heard the sound of Rosie asking her a question, but the contents of the question didn't really settle in her mind. All she knew was that Rosie asked something about the sky, something about it being blue and pretty. That, as we all already know, Rhea most definitely agreed with.

"It really is," Rhea remarked, her eyes drifting closed. She snapped them back open and the second she did, her eyes made a beeline towards a cloud that looked like... was that a unicorn? It was! Rhea grinned with excitement and exclaimed, "Rosie, look, it's a unicorn!"

Enthusiasm could be clearly heard in her voice, and the young Gryffindor almost stood up and ran a circle around the lake. But of course, Rhea was much too lazy to actually do so (not that she would ever dream of admitting it), so instead she settled for imagining that she was running a circle around the lake. What were the odds you would ever envision a unicorn in the sky?! Um, that's right, slim to none!

Rhea, the biggest grin on her face, turned to look at Rosie. "Do you see it? It's right there!" the Bishop attempted to point out the unicorn head along with the horn, but didn't know if her attempt was successful. What with the sky growing darker and the clouds wafting off, Rhea knew that they didn't have too much time left outside before night fell upon them.

"every friend is a new adventure, and the start of more memories."

Rosie probably wouldn't have learned the joys of cloud gazing if not had met Adam Harringtom, the second nicest boy that Rosie had ever met. During their first interaction, he tried to see how creative she was when it came to picking out clouds in the sky, and in Rosie's opinion, she was pretty darn good at it. But when Rhea was looking through the clouds like it was her first time looking at a candy shop and all it's goods, Rosie couldn't help but wonder... Do pureblood families have imaginations? They seemed like they raised their daughters like trapped princesses, with arranged marriages and lessons on being ladies. Hopefully, that wasn't how it worked.

She followed Rhea's gaze, looking up towards the clouds. "A unicorn..?" Rosie repeated to mostly herself, squinting her eyes at the cloudy sky. After her eyes adjusted to the blue sky, she started to pick out the shape of a unicorn head in the form of a fluffy cloud, and Rosie's green eyes seemed to brighten up as she grinned. "Hey! I do see it!" She pointed to the sky. "That cloud, right? You can see the horn and everything!" She said happily, opening her arms and laying back against the grass.

Rosie was quiet for another second before she pointed up at the sky again. "That one looks like a wand, but the end has like... Like a tiny little cloud at the end of it. Like a handle!" She tried shaping it out with her hands. "It makes the wand have some personality to it, don't you think Rhea?" She turned to her friend with a big smile. She was hoping Rhea would appreciate her imagination and over enthusiasm for clouds. She could, again, blame Adam for that.

❝i've been running through the jungle
i've been running with the wolves❞
to get to you, to get to you
Being outside in this warm weather was nice. The Scottish weather did not usually permit for going outside, and especially not swimming in the lake. Rhea's hair was still drying; she could feel the wet clump below her head as she rested on the ground. The faint movement of the grass with the wind also prompted the short hairs on the back of Rhea's neck to stand up, as a result of goosebumps and paranoia that some bug would crawl onto her small body.

Despite the faint feeling of chill that was slowly spreading through Rhea, as night started to creep in, she still enjoyed the outside. Being outside gave its own special kind of thrill, one that was unmatched. The young girl didn't get to venture outside very often back in Liverpool, because it was always either too cold or she got bored too fast - she would have no one to talk to. The only time she did enjoy herself, outside, was when she practiced flying and Quidditch by herself.

Now, she was laying outside on the grass with a friend, cloud gazing. The sky was gorgeous; she could never see anything like it back in Liverpool. And all the various objects & creatures in the sky made it that much more interesting and fun to look at. "This is crazy! I never thought I'd be able to see creatures... in the sky!"

Still on the hunt to find another creature in the sky, Rhea's mind drifted off. Her eyes started to flutter closed, and she found herself so relaxed she could barely move her hand for fear of disturbing her peace. She never wanted this moment to end. There were so many things to be discovered in the sky, and so many things to be discovered about Rosie herself. Although they had known each other for most of the school year, Rhea still didn't know much about her Hufflepuff friend. Maybe as time went on, they would get to know each other better - and Rhea could even invite Rosie over to her house during the summer!

There was silence for a bit, until Rosie's voice broke it by exclaiming that there was something else to be spotted in the sky. Her eyes flying open, Rhea tried to find where Rosie was pointing - "Yes, I see it! I've never heard of a wand to have a handle - but yes, I do agree that it does add a little bit of personality," Rhea answered, smiling. Her eyes were wide open, trying to drink in everything she could see. There was absolutely no way she could miss any part of this experience.

Her head was starting to ache, so the girl decided to sit up and massage it. Her hair was, no doubt, knotty as hell - why did she think it was a good idea to lay on it, in the grass? She gathered it up as best she could do and squeezed all the excess water out of it, still surprised by the fact that the tips were blonde. She couldn't decide whether this was a good thing - her hair slowly resorting back to its usual color. How long would it take? What if her parents thought that she had dyed her hair blonde over the course of the year?

There was no point in worrying about this now. Whatever happened would happen, and Rhea would be able to deal with it in due time. For now, the only thing she had to worry about was how many unicorns or other creatures she could glimpse before all the clouds disappeared. There seemed to be none... or maybe Rhea just wasn't looking hard enough.

"I can't find anymore... can you?" this activity was certainly something Rhea loved, but it did require a lot of imagination. Luckily for her, she was a painter (much to her mother's dismay) and so, she had practice with seeing thing that others couldn't normally see.

"every friend is a new adventure, and the start of more memories."

Rosie couldn't help but laugh at Rhea's shock. Was imagination really so surprising to most pure bloods? It seemed so absurd, there should've been a lesson! Cloud gazing relaxed the mind, it could help those students be better at... Pure blooding, or whatever they did. Rosie found herself thinking about that a lot. She seemed to be a bit obsessed with the difference between muggle lives and pure lives. Maybe it was so she could put an end to the discrimination against muggles, maybe it was to understand what it was like to live in royalty. Whatever it was, Rosie didn't seem to pay much mind to it.

Rhea couldn't seem to find anymore creatures, and the other young girl followed her gaze to the sky, squinting her eyes. Rosie's eyes fell towards the sunset, they must've been having so much fun time was going by fast.. After staring at the sun for a while, she went back to the clouds. She couldn't pick anything else but circles and blobs out, so she shook her head and looking back at Rhea. "Unfortunately not," she mumbled, before turning back to the sunset. "The sun is awful pretty, isn't it? Especially when it's lowering to take it's nap during the night, it supports our light all day.." She whispered. "The sun must be so tired." Rosie smiled softly, tilting her head at the sky.

She got lost in her thoughts and snapped herself out of it, turning back to Rhea. "Sorry, sorry. I got distracted that, ya know? I used to watch the sunset with my mom all the time, she really likes it." Rosie sighed happily. She missed her mom so much. She could be mean sometimes, like really mean, but it was okay! Rosie knew people were mad sometimes. Maybe her mom was like that, but just.. Consistently mad. She could ask her dad about it when they got home.

Image posted by the member was a rare feat. Not just for purebloods, but for anyone in general - especially the students of Hogwarts. Between homework, meals, and socialization, hardly anyone got a chance to sit down and take a break from the events of the day. Rhea was always much too busy thinking about the future and of her plans for the next day to take a moment for herself and simply think of what was happening now. She was amongst those who lived in the future & the past, rather than the present. It was not a bad thing, simply a fact of the matter.

So, this few hours of simply talking and laying on the grass, cloud-gazing, was something that Rhea didn't know her body and mind craved. Her days had always been action packed, her always moving from place to place all the bloody time. This was a nice change. Besides, it didn't hurt that Rhea was accompanied by someone as kind and innocent as Rosie. Her kindness was a stark contrast to some of her other more violent friends (cough cough, Eris cough cough).

Rhea closed her eyes and felt the dying sun beat upon her closed eyes, eyelids warming up. She liked the feeling of the sun on her body - even if it was weak, and already going away. Rosie's voice also succeeded in calming the redhead down, although she had no idea what in the world the brunette was talking about. The sun, being tired? Didn't she know that the giant ball of fire was... inanimate, and couldn't get tired. But the way her friend talked was one of her quirks, one that Rhea didn't mind. In fact, she appreciated it.

"Yes, the sun really does do a lot of work for us," Rhea said, deciding to play along. Who knew, maybe the sun actually was alive and could get tired? If Rosie said so, there was a high chance that it was true. She trusted the Hufflepuff. "I wonder how it survives for the entire day."

The sunset was becoming really vibrant at this time of day. It was really starting to show up, the colors a mix of what seemed to be every single color. "Don't be sorry. If I could, I watch the sunset & sunrise everyday. It really is beautiful." Rhea didn't know what it was about the sunset that she loved so much, but she did. Perhaps it was the painter inside her coming out, appreciating how well the colors blended together; or maybe it was because of the aura it exuded. Whatever it was, Rhea loved it. "Your mum? You've never talked about her before. At least, I don't think you have. How is she?"
