He was still looking over at Sage when trouble came walking in on four feet.
Or rather paws.
Kim wasn't fast enough to react before the cat ran towards Alan. He knew Alan as one of the Prefects of Gryffindor House and he was also the dueling captain.
Even though the cat stopped before she got to Alan, it was close enough for his allergies to act up. Kim had a more severe allergy when it came to felines. It didn't help that most cats tended to love him for some reason. He still didn't understand why they were drawn to him when all he wanted was to be left alone by them. Kim hoped that this one cat would be different from all the others. Hopefully this one would want to stay away from him! It would.
Right?
So, Kim would have run off, if Sophia hadn't still been holding onto him.
And then it happened, a sneezing fit began and Kim's eyes watered as he started to sneeze. It didn't stop and his nose started running water, along with his eyes and his body jerked from the strength of his sneezes. He managed to disentangle himself from Sophia's grasp and then reached into his pocket to take out his embroidered handkerchief. Damn it, he hadn't expected there to be a cat here. Well, he also hadn't expected to be pulled into a game as well.
Kim continued to sneeze.
He stumbled away from the scene, trying to put some distance between him and the cat.

The sound of sneezing jolted Sophia's attention away from the de facto organizer of this little shindig. To her surprise, it was Kim suffering from the onslaught of sneezes. Part of Sophia was amused that the calm, cool, and collected Kim had lost his composure in such a way, but a bigger part was just worried for her friend.
Sophia watched in terrified indecision as she tried to figure out what to do, but Kim seemed to have a head start in that regard, which made sense. After all, he was the one suffering. He freed his hand from hers, reached for a handkerchief, and gained some distance, which made Sophia frown. Was it her fault he'd been overexerted? Was this some strange sneezing form of asthma? She had aggressively dragged him along with her and Sage to this game.
In fact, now that she thought about it, she'd never seen Kim run before. Maybe this was why?
Oh, Lord, she was killing Kim.
She ran over to Kim frantically, trying anything she could to save the boy, but she didn't know what to do. She started by rubbing his back, but that didn't stop the sneezing, so she lifted her arm high and started desperately slapping his back, as hard as she could. That was totally a thing, right?
"Kim! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to kill you," she cried out frantically as she continued her assault onto his airways.

It was just an ordinary day of classes and the like - or so it had seemed. School had just resumed following the spring break, so fortunately some reluctance to work was still in the air; well, at least Marius Brown decided so. The Hufflepuff himself had slipped out of his school robe and changed into casual, comfortable sky-blue t-shirt and light-brown trousers to enjoy the afternoon at Hogwarts grounds; he had no intention to study for the rest of the day.
Initially had no special plan of what to d here, the first year was excited when an elder student he recognised as fifth year Alan Vanes, one of the Gryffindor prefects, loudly suggested everyone around him to start a game of Freeze Tag. Marius had never talked to Alan before, he merely knew the Gryffindor from the general knowledge of Hogwarts (that is, that Alan was a lion, a fifth year, and a prefect), but now that Alan had nonchalantly proposed this, Marius began to admire him more. He seemed to be not only a good student, but also a fun and friendly person to be around.
Excitedly, the energetic Chinese-English boy cried out, "I'm in!" He joined several other students, some of them he would have known by names if only he had paid more attention to his surrounding. Well, he would definitely spot them later, but for now, his mind was still on the prospected game and his innocent, happy imagination of how it would turn out at the end.

Alan was quite pleased when more than one student actually joined, well not just more than one because a whole bunch of students actually decided to join, so that they would be 11 students by the end of this. It was truly exciting! There were also a lot of unfamiliar faces, from which Alan assumed most of them were first years, which was fine or more than fine, it was perfect even. He recognized a lion that he had helped escort to the common room after the sorting feast at the start of the year. Other than that Leonard was a familiar face and many more students he had met multiple times before. It was a little exciting that they had all stopped by and it made him grin ever so slightly. There was a sense of calm that he was extruding. He had kinda one foot placed on top of the soccer ball, that Thomas had kicked over to him earlier. "You'll be the one losing here, unless of course we are on the same team!", he let the young Hufflepuff know pridefully. Colin also decided to join them but also tried to tag Thomas by poking him in the neck CP: fail | Acc: 10+5 | Eva: 12+9, however Thomas would notice just in time and step out of the way. Whether by reflex or not, who knew? Leonard had a few questions, which Alan would happily provide the answers for. "No, no magic or any of that," he explained to the boy and Henry, "it is still rather fun so please join us!" Even as some others joined, among them Ileen with Liv, he only grew happier by the second as he leaned forward to rub the feline below its chin, "you grew so much, Silver Liv!", he chirped excitedly, before noticing Kim starting to fall into a sneezing fit. "Are you alright there?"
Once all students had gathered and no one else needed any guidance or explanations, the fifth year stood straight and looked around. "Alright I will be assigning the teams randomly, I believe five people who are it sound good since this will be a quick game!" He explained before he placed a hand above his eyes and turned in a circle a couple of times until he felt himself becoming dizzy. He would proceed to point toward five different directions around him and his finger would land on Thomas, Leonard, Shiawase, Ileen and Marius. He would open his eyes in a heartbeat and dart off after two single words.

Possible Actions for "It":
Freeze: This is your basic attacker Accuracy vs target Evasion roll. If the attacker is successful the target becomes "frozen" and isn't allowed to move
Double Freeze: This is like Freeze but with a second assist. Two attackers try to target one person together. You need to state who leads and who assists, because only half the accuracy from the assist gets added. (Example. A has 10 Acc and B who is the assist also has 10 Acc. 10 + 10/2 = 15 Acc)
Possible Actions for Others:
Dodge/Evade: This works like in duelling. So there will be a bonus evasion of 5 + Eva/4 rounded up. In case of 6 evasion that would be +7
Unfreeze: Unfreeze your teammates at the cost of the evasion bonus, making you more susceptible to being frozen yourself
Winning Conditions:
It: Freeze all players before the end of the game (5 rounds)
Not It: Have at least 1 player unfrozen at the end of the game (5 rounds)
How to Send your Actions?
Please discuss them as a team, either as the "it" team or as the "non it" team and send them to me through one owl per team. I will not be helping the "non-it" team strategize for fairness sake, I will simply add notes whether that behavior would be typical or untypical for Alan. You may also add the action to your post, but that might give an advantage to the other team so think about it before you do that.
Additional Information:
If a student is frozen the same round they unfreeze someone, there will be a contested evasion roll to see who acted first. So basically "it" evasion vs "not it" evasion. If "it" was faster than the other person fails to unfreeze their team mate. If "not it" was faster, than they only become frozen after they unfreeze their teammate. For the sake of randomness the people who are "it" have been randomized thanks to our lovely Tatsu bot on Discord. Calming Presence is activated on all of you from Alan (to make modding for me easier).
I suggest making discord group chats between you guys for easier conversation or to make use of the fact that you can owl multiple recipients at once on our site! Whatever is easier for you. Failing to post within the deadline voids your action! If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Mission successful, the prideful Hogwarts students gathered at the word lose. Starting with a boy slightly shorter than Logan with a messy black mane. Logan and Alan being in an open field, his approach would not go unnoticed. Coming from Logan's left side, he scanned the boy[Colin] with his peripherals. When he neared, Logan's reflexes kicked in to evade the boy's intended tag towards his neck. He shimmied away to face the boy with an amused smile. "Yo, who let nightcrawler in here. Shoulder touches, my dude. It's 2022!" Logan exclaimed in continued amusement, masking a giggle. "Can't touch this..." He added with another smirk, but hopefully he wouldn't fall as far as MC Hammer after saying so.
He meant no harm by his words, more so poking fun at the poker. Though remaining on his toes should the boy try to tag him again before the game starts. Alan's comment about Logan's winning being dependent his union bounced off his shoulders, stealing the limelight was another boy who appeared and sounded older[Leonard]. He approached from a dark tree in the distance, also beckoned by the young Hufflepuff's confident insinuation he would take the wizards to school in a classic muggle game.
The new entrant would address Logan to clarify his misguided confidence, leaving the boy to only respond with a cheerful nod. His attention then shifted to Alan, followed by a familiar comment for the poker, Colin as he called him. His clarification on the game's rules added a needed question, leaving Logan to consider the freezing charm with a distant stare of confusion. "Wait, we can freeze people..." He muttered softly to himself, briefly holding a glorious picture of his sister frozen after a sass driven rant in his mind.
In the distance, Logan noticed Shiawase approaching, another first year he's shared some time with in Potions class. "Hey Shiawase!" He shouted to her in his typical cheerful manner, drifting off to the side. "I'm gonna do a few stretches over here." He announced to anyone that was listening, an open invitation for anyone that cared to join him. Another requirement from his soccer obsessed father, loosening up before activity might as well have been a law for Logan.
A collection of other unfamiliar faces came flooding in that traveled in the vicinity of Alan's proposed game. Logan would remain silent in the presence of so many older students, instead preparing himself for the game to come. Just like in preparation of any physical activity, he would begin a series of dynamic stretches. Such as knee hugs, butt kicks, lateral hip swings, and finishing with high knees. Following his warm up, he straightened his headband and removed the lightweight sports jacket, folding it and placing it on the grass alongside his water bottle at a tree.
Upon returning, Alan announced the taggers to begin the game. Along with four others, Logan would begin as a tagger. His eyes fell upon Alan at first, rubbing his hands together in confidence. Then drifting ofter to the fellow first year who Shiawase appeared to be on friendly terms with, Colin. An internal debate arrived on who to go for, looking to the other taggers, identifying them in his head so he didn't get lost in the game and go for them as well.

Hearing the older male talk about choosing who was it, Logan watched carefully and giggled slightly as spun in a circle a few times before pointing at five different people. The girl was not sure what happened next, all she was sure was that the older prefect had taken off away from the others. Glancing over at Henry, she laughed as she quickly took off away from the group. She continued to assume that she just needed to make sure she did not get tagged by any of the five people that were called 'it.' Sherlock raced after his owner, not quite sure what was going on, but still enjoying chasing his owner around in the grass.

Colin laughed as his quarry slipped away, by mere millimetres! He had no idea what the other boy was talking about --- nightcrawlers and shoulder touching and all. Must be a Hufflepuff thing! he thought as the other boy teased him.
"Can't touch this..." the lad said --- Colin understood that! And he stopped immediately and turned to face the new challenge. He stared the other boy in the eyes. For a moment nothing else happened or mattered. With a lightning fast motion he feinted a lunge at the other boy!
Colin laughed again. "Hey, Badger! Better hope we're on the same team --- otherwise all you'd be is touched!" He bowed slightly to the boy. "I'm Colin! What's your name?"
Some other kids got drawn in to the game as well. Leo the Loquacious. Well, this game just got interesting! A Snake's snake and a head full of more wheels than a muggle machine and each one of them churning and calculating everything! "Sir," Colin responded to Leonard's greeting with a nod. "Are you really going to have a go!?"
Then Henry greeted him. His elder brother in House Slytherin. He smiled and went over and stood next to Henry. "Brilliant luck for the game, with your energy I think you'll win," the boy said.
Colin nudged his elder and said: "You know it! We've got this!"
Others joined in, too. Some he knew like Sophia and Kim; other he didn't know but had seen around.
And then Colin caught sight of metal and wheels --- real wheels this time. "Oh, game changer!" he cried. "Hey Shia! If it isn't Miss Elextiricity herself!" Then he called over to the Hufflepuff: "Hey Badger! You're doomed now! You'd really better hope Shia's on your team! She's wicked fast on that machine of hers and she'll get you quicker than you can say Helga Hufflepuff! --- But no worries, mate! When she freezes you, I'll come to your rescue!"

Ileen noticed the boy breaking away from the group, sneezing and apparently struggling for his life. Her gaze quickly slid over the group of people. Who here did jinx him with the sneezing hex? Probably the girl that followed him and was apologizing?
Squinting her eyes, she watched the two familiar kids with her head thoughtfully tilted. The young Slytherin girl spent exactly five seconds trying to figure out their relationship before she decided that she didn't care. It was way more important to see if he needed medical attention - as an aspiring healer, that was her job after all! After being an intern for so long at the Hospital Wing it was about time that she developed the urge to help random people.
But her path to the good side of the force was interrupted by Alan, who checked in to make sure no one was dying around here and then moved forward to declare who was ‘it’.
Her medical examination had taken the last moment from her to actually get out of this, so when she looked up and Alan pointed at her, she was sighting internally. “This is all your fault!” Blaming her cat, she put her back on the grass to get ready. Liv wasn’t thrilled at all as all of the children started to run away from her and her allies. With an aggressive hiss, she jumped to a school bag lying on the floor, took cover there and looked at her owner with reproachful eyes.
Ileen grimaced at her and then looked around quickly. Crap. She had gotten distracted. Who were her allies and who should she catch? She didn't know most of them and would certainly forget them immediately. But she was fast and the faster she could freeze them all, the faster she'd be out of here. Quickly she decided who she would go for.

"Sounds simple although why would they call it freeze tag," Henry replied to Logan as the group grew till there was eleven people at the grounds and three felines. Loki sat up, sniffing the air as he watched the scene from besides his onwer.
Henry nodded toward Colin accompanied by a soft smile, he has a soft spot for the lad. There was the fury problem that connected the two, but simlair to other younger years with the condition. The teen felt as if he had to help and protect him as usual.
The teen cast a gaze over toward Leonard, a small smile plastered onto his emotionless face. The dorm mate who provided an academic challenge and words of intellect for an debate. A true and steadfast academic rival. Henry woild offer a nod toward him as he spoke"Shall the quickest and sensible win." Being only thirteen, he hoped that he would be beating Leonard that day.
When the game was about to start, Henry listened to Alan. The rules and purpose of the game. The teen now is fast regretting his decision to join, he now have been a strong or fast runner. Physical sports is usually what he lacked in.
The teen pulled at his jeans, he took a small breath of air as he watched Alan spin in a few circles. Pointing to five and declaring them 'it' before taking off.
The teen look at his best friend, a questioning eye before returning Logan's smile with one of his own and taking a breath. Hoping that his lack of runnkng skills didn't slow the team down as he turned and ran after Logan and Alan however his curious feline would sniff around and bounce between running besides Sherlock and Leonard Oaksworth.

Once, twice, three times.
This sneezing fit sucked. And Sophia coming over and trying to help made it worse.
Rubbing his back had been nice of her but raising her hand and slapping his back was a completely unexpected action. And Kim ended up flat on his stomach, as Sophia literally drove him onto the grass. Thankfully, there didn't seem to be any cat hair within this particular patch of grass. Or he might have died right there from cat inhalation. He raised a hand into the air to try and halt her blows. "I'm fine!" Kim wheezed out to the girl with him.
He managed to prop himself up to grab something from inside his pocket. Putting it into his mouth and swallowing it, Kim sat up and leaned his head backward as he tried to breathe. The pill should take effect any second now, it usually didn't take too long to work for him. After a few minutes, his breathing seemed to calm down and he could breathe again. Kim looked over at Sophia, who appeared worried for him and tried to offer the girl a faint smile.
"Don't worry, it takes more to kill me than one little cat." Kim told her, trying to make light of the situation, so Sophia didn't get too worried about him.
"The pill should kick in any minute. I should be fine to play the game." He said and glanced over at the others. Even though he was now protected from cats, his body still reacted to their presence. Alan called out to him, asking if he was alright and Kim nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine now." The tall boy called back and got to his feet to make his way over to the others. Sophia would probably follow him, as she tended to stick by his side all the time.
As the five people who were 'It' were chosen, Kim glanced around, taking in the positions of everyone. Well, they were pretty well spaced out, which was a good thing for them. No one would end up running into eachother and as a result get both of them tagged by one of the 'Its'. Alan, Colin, Sophia and Henry were on his team. And... the other girl... Logan that was her name, Kim couldn't remember where he knew her from but she seemed familiar to him.
But it didn't matter right now.
What mattered was making sure he didn't end up getting tagged in the end.
They were up against a team of five. three of whom he was unfamiliar with. Marius he'd met before and one of the two girls on the opposite team was someone he'd nicknamed Candy Girl. The remaining three, two boys and one girl, were people he'd never met before. Kim started to back away from the others, making sure there was ample room to run in a different direction if possible. Those who were 'It' would start going after people. Chaos would ensue.
As he glanced around, Kim overheard one of the boys he didn't know say the name of the girl he didn't know. Shiawase. So that must be her name. It was rather pretty and meant happiness in Japanese. Kim made sure not to be near Logan at all costs, because she had a cat that was chasing after her feet. It was around this time that he heard Colin talk about how if the speed demon Shia froze someone, he'd make sure to unfreeze them. Well, that was nice.
"I'll be counting on you, then." Kim said with a smirk.
Not that he was planning on getting frozen.
However, if it did happen, Colin would be there to help him out, or so he hoped. But one thing was for sure and no one could tell him otherwise about this one particular fact.
There were way too many cats participating in this game.
