I've Never Played
Ami laughed gingerly at Lorelai's "I told you so", and waved her off as the raven-haired Gryffindor came over to inspect her ankle. "Matron will take care of it, I'm sure," she grimaced, hauling herself to her feet. She managed to stay standing for about three seconds before collapsing to her knee, her ankle unable to support her wait. "Matron had better take care of it," she amended, her face twisting up with absolute pain. I thought you could handle any pain... her father whispered at the back of her mind. True soldiers can handle anything and everything. Get up, Ami. Get up!
And get up she did, grabbing the school broom and using the end of it as a walking stick, the bristles pointing upwards towards the sky. Atta girl... she could've sworn she heard her dad say, and she smiled sadly to herself. Of course, he'd never be able to walk again... but he'd still try, and so would she. Glancing down at her ankle, she bit her lip. "Say, Lorelai, do you think Professor Swaftborn has a first-aid kit in his office?" Ami suddenly asked, brightening up immensely. "We could just bandage it out here, without having to face the Matron."

"Yeah, let's try to avoid that."She looked at the ankle again."But we may have too. We'll see I guess. I'll go look for some bandages or something. I'll be right back, I promise."Lorelai said, running over to Professor Swaftborn's office. Luckily the door was still open from when Ami had picked the lock, otherwise, there would be no hope of her getting in. She rummaged around the office. It was mostly just some papers, some books, and every now and then a spider.'Come on, it has to be somewhere. What if some kid gets hurt? He has to have something'
Finally, after what felt like forever of searching, she found a small leather box. She peered into it and saw several bandages, and some vials labeled as various healing potions. Hastily, she shut the box and ran back to her injured friend with it clutched in her hands.
Lorelai plopped the box on the ground. She took the bandages out of the box. "Do you think the bandages will be enough? I mean it's just sprained right?"She paused before digging through the box again. "There's some pain medication in here too if the pain is bad enough. There's actually a lot of stuff in here..."She said squinting at one of the vials. 'Skele-grow? I bet I can guess what that does.'She thought, putting the potion back into the box.

"Bandages will be perfect," Ami said with a small smile, sitting up. Sliding her shoe off her foot, along with her socks, she took the aforementioned first-aid supply from Lorelai. Eyeing it suspiciously as if it was going to come alive and bite her on the nose or something, she unwound the material and started to bandage her ankle. From the fluidity of her movements and the lack of hesitation, it was rather obvious, even to the untrained eye, that she'd done this before. "There. I'll be perfectly fine in the morning. Shall we head back, now, before anything else catastrophic happens?" Throwing the roll of bandages back into the box, she slipped her socks and shoes back on, and threw the box and broom back into Professor Swaftborn's office, only limping slightly.
As the two girls walked back to the castle under the moonlight, Ami couldn't help but smile at the Blossomfest decorations still hanging around the grounds, and also couldn't help being reminded of the upcoming ball, and honestly, couldn't help but feel a pang right where her heart was that she had no one to go with. No one showed up to a ball alone, not if they had any common sense. Glancing at her friend, a small, terrible idea took root in the back of her mind. Well, you'll never know if you never try, right? "Hey, Lorelai," she said quietly, uneasily breaking their companionable silence. "If you don't have anyone you're already going with... do you want to go to the Blossom Ball with me? As friends, I mean," she added hurriedly. "Just friends."

"Sure. I'd love to. I heard people talking about going, but I was unsure if I was going to go. But I guess now that I have someone to go with, I'll go!"She said, smiling to the Hufflepuff, as they walked back to the castle. She hadn't done many activities relating to Blossomfest yet, but she was excited to participate in what seemed to be the final and largest part of the festival. Balls didn't seem like something she'd be so interested in, but she hadn't gone to one so it wasn't as if she had experience. And she was always up for new trying new things.
"I'll see you there then I guess,"Lorelai said as they arrived at the entrance to the school. The sun was already coming up, everyone would be awake in an hour or so. She still had the issue of sneaking back into her dorm, but she hadn't had. the problem before so she didn't worry about it. "Just don't hurt yourself again, okay?"She teased Ami, smiling at her. "After all, I'm pretty sure we're supposed to dance at balls, and that might be hard if you hurt yourself even more. Not that I'll even dance. I'm horrible at it. But I guess you might not be."She shook her head slightly. "Well, I look forward to going with you, Ami!"

Ami beamed, nearly glowing with happiness. "I'm sure you'll do just fine at dancing," she assured the other girl, and made the mental note to get her out on the dance floor as soon as possible. Ami herself would never admit it, but both of her parents would proudly brag about their daughter's dancing prowess, especially in ballroom-style dancing. She also knew how to dance both parts, as her father refused to dance with her mother after he became confined to a wheelchair; thus, Abella taught her redheaded daughter to dance instead, Ami taking on her dad's role as a dance partner.
"I'll see you then!" Ami said cheerfully, twinkling her fingers in farewell and loping off in the direction of her common room upon entrance to the castle. "Don't worry too much about dressing fabulously. I'm just wearing a skirt and a blazer, I don't do dresses," she added as an afterthought, pausing and turning back to look at her Gryffindor friend. "But yeah, I guess I'll see you there. I look forward to it!" With one last wave, Ami turned and limped back to the Hufflepuff common room and her dorms, expertly darting from shadow to shadow, nearly invisible against the stone walls despite her fiery hair.

Ami heads to her bed, and thus exits the thread.

Ami is already at the Blossom Ball, talking to Paracelsus (which was planned beforehand). Somewhere during their conversation, before it drags on too long, Ami will mention spotting Lorelai, and I'll link the post to you so the two can actually start talking. Otherwise, if you do post, just don't mention spotting Ami yet.
