They/She
Catching the Quaffle once again, they smiled at the question.

"Well, for a start, my siblings claim I'm 'naturally violent', whatever that means. Secondly, before I started to identify as a demigirl, I found it annoying that I couldn't see many professional female beaters. I wanted to join them, and prove that women were just as strong and capable as male beaters. Even after I started identifying as a demigirl, I still felt that quidditch was my calling, if that makes sense. And finally, hitting a bludger when you're frustrated is one of the best feelings."

They lightly threw back the Quaffle, flying back a little and gesturing for the boy to do the same.

"I've always grown up wanting to prove people wrong, so this felt normal. Besides, I can't see myself playing any other position now. I mean, I'll be adaptable, of course, but I don't see myself going professional as a chaser, keeper or seeker."

Smiling at the boy, they shifted on their broom slightly. It was nice to have someone to talk to about quidditch.

"What about you? What made you choose quidditch over any of the other sports available here? And why seeker in specific?"

Attentively, Marius listened to Pax's words. He was not sure what they meant by a "demigirl", but he decided to refrain from asking for fear of hurting and/or enraging his fellow first year. Perhaps he could ask someone else to explain the term to him instead, he would ask someone he felt comfortable with later after this practice session had been called a day.

At the time being, the Hufflepuff would rather concentrate on passing the Quaffle, even though honestly speaking, he felt it was not interesting at all. To him, he was practicing a basic basketball technique; the only difference was that today he was doing it sitting on a broom instead of standing on his two legs.

Throwing the Quaffle back at the Gryffindor, he replied to their first question. "I think I prefer Quidditch to duelling because I like speed. Duelling isn't even a real sport for me, it looks like what they do is only to hurt another team. It's not self-defence when your goal is to KO'ed other people. I can't really say why I'd rather play Quidditch than broom race, though. It just... looks more interesting."

He shrugged at his last sentence, and inhaled some air before moving on to Pax's second question. "Maybe it's because of the Golden Snitch. It seems so mysterious and intriguing. I find the challenge to spot and catch the small ball fun. And I don't doubt I'll feel so proud when I finally catch it."

Having eyes, but not seeing beauty; having ears, but not hearing music; having minds, but not perceiving truth; having hearts that are never moved and therefore never set on fire - these are the things to fear.
