Unfathomable boredom
A rehersal room? This was news to Rayne, but good news all the more. They felt a kick of excitement at the idea, however random, and possibly ridiculous.
'I did in fact bring my guitar' Rayne replied with a grin. 'My mum convinced me, said I should keep up with practice. She's right, I should be keeping up with practice, but until I found out about said rehersal rooms, I didn't have anywhere to practice.'
Acting was a passion of Rayne's. They too had belonged to a theatre group, every Saturday, 10 till 1, a show at Christmas and Summer. It was one of the things they missed most about muggle life. The theatre group was where they had met most of their friends. They felt most alive on the stage. Sometimes they found it easier to be other people, rather than themselves. It was incredible to perform to people, and so fun as well.
Simon pulled a rat out of his bag, bundled under a Hufflepuff scarf. The little thing looked slightly startled at the sudden light.
'Awh,' crooned Rayne, as the rat became slowly accustomed to the light. He was, true to simons word, super cool. 'Mind if I pick him up?' Rayne asked. They knew how irritating it could be when people picked up or stroked their pets without asking.

"Go for it, he's super chill," Simon said as Rascal looked at the other Hufflepuff curiously. "He used to belong to one of our fellow Hufflepuffs, Alexa Mackenzie," he said, and his voice got a little softer at the mention of her name. "She passed away over Winter Break and this little guy and I are trying to manage things without her. We're doing alright, huh, buddy?" he said, but the rat wasn't paying him much mind at the time and his focus was on the other Hufflepuff. A new person to meet!
"We could meet up sometime if you'd like. In the rehearsal room. I mean, I don't know which of us knows more about the guitar to know which could help the other but some constructive criticism and just camaraderie playing together never hurts."
That way maybe he'd get to know Rayne a little more. Simon, like Rascal, liked meeting new people as well. "Gotta honor thy mother, right? Says so right in the Bible," Simon said and showed a bit of his faith there with that statement, even if he sort of was making a joke. He smiled to Rayne. "Honor thy father and mother." Easier for do than others.
