It seemed that the duel was progressing much faster than Dmitri originally foresaw.

Dealla was able to ignore Lydia's distracting visage to successfully land another Flipendo. The Part-Veela's own Ventus just missed the Ravenclaw by what looked to be a few centimeters, ruffling the girl's hair with how close it was to hitting.

Julian let loose a respectable beam of fire as his way of helping out, but Dealla just seemed to always be one step ahead. Almost instinctually, she was able to step aside just as the fiery beam landed where she just was a moment ago.

If things kept going on the way they were, Dmitri definitely would not need to stand there looking bored.

When the spells came as expected, Dee was ready, dancing out of the way of a jet of wind and a stream of flames, light on her feet. Her own jinx managed to make contact with Lydia once again, and Dee's grin widened. Maybe she felt a little bad about hitting Lydia again, but... well, not very much, and the feeling was quickly lost. It was, after all, a duel.

"Solid attempt, 6 out of 10," she called over to the Hufflepuffs. "Gotta be quicker than that, though."

When Eun-ji came back to her feet next to Dee, she shot her a smile that was somewhere between amused and encouraging. After all, she'd been holding up fabulously on her own, so there was really no harm done. It was still always better to have a partner at your side, though.

It wasn't easy to get up. Understandably, she had never been petrified prior to this and so she was not prepared for what it felt like. She did know she would hate it but it was especially hard since it put her teammate in danger. Her on the ground meant Dee would be the sole target for the Hufflepuffs. Thankfully, the girl was as cheerful as ever. Somehow, she managed to avoid both spells thrown her way and even scored a hit. Well, she is not the Captain for nothing. The raven-haired witch thought as she slowly got back up, using all her ballet experience so she wouldn't stumble along the way. All things considered, she probably looked much more graceful than she felt. Eventually, there would be bruises from the fall but Eun-ji didn't care. She was familiar with those. It could have been so much worse.

Nevertheless, the situation made her feel a bit bitter. The witch liked to do well. She wasn't afraid of her own failures as long as it didn't affect anybody else but this one did and she felt bad about it. "Sorry," she quickly apologized to her teammate. "Although to be fair you seem to be doing just fine. Perhaps I should just go and fetch you some snacks?" She was definitely better at cooking than duelling. At least for now it seemed so. Still, considering her focused expression, it was apparent that Eun-ji was not going anywhere. She was not happy with her performance so far but that didn’t mean she was giving up. On the contrary…

Concentrated on her target, Lydia kept her eyes on Dealla; she saw the girl aiming for her, and despite all her effort to avoid it, another Flipendo hit her. She could already feel the exhaustion, just like her resentment towards herself. Clenching her teeth, she aimed her wand towards Dealla, determined on hitting her at least once in the duel before going down, but she was just too quick, and her Wind Jinx missed her.

"You're not making our job any easier," she said as she was that the girl had managed to avoid Julian's spell as well, "Maybe if you'd just stop moving for a change...." With that, she then turned towards Julian. "I'm not sure, but maybe they can! While casting spells is important to stay focused, so maybe they can sense if you're being hesitant," she said as she remembered one of the first things she learned at school from Prof Vernatis.

After that, Lydia rolled her shoulders, ready to face what would come next.

Julian didn't immediately cast, waiting instead until Dealla was casting in Lydia's direction, assuring him he wouldn't have to dodge while casting, to utter his own incantation. This time he was much more successful. Unfortunately, not successful enough, and he let out a disappointed sigh as his spell failed to so much singe Dealla's robes. At least he hadn't been the only one to miss. A fact the Ravenclaw girl immediately commented on.

Julian had to say, as someone who was used to grades on the high end of the spectrum, getting scored six out of ten stung a bit. Almost as much as missing again had. "Or we should aim better," was his own sheepish response. He wasn't sure how to be much quicker in his casting--not without failing the cast again, but maybe he could work on better predicting where his opponents would be. Or maybe he wasn't aiming close enough to the center, giving them more time to move. It was a thing to ponder.

For now, though, making sure his spells actually went off would have to remain the priority.

"That makes sense," he told Lydia, nodding. If the wand could tell how focused you were, it might be able to sense other kinds other kinds of feelings. Then again, worry usually threw his focus quite badly, so it stood to reason that hesitation might as well. Maybe it was just an issue of focus.

"I wonder if there's any way to get them to aim at me," he added, lowering his voice. It felt unfair that his teammate kept getting hit while he was mostly left alone. Plus, he had no idea how long Lydia would last with the other team constantly aiming for her, but the thought of being left alone was not encouraging for their prospects of winning.

Action: As strategised.

Calling the sound that came out of Dmitri's mouth a sigh of relief was an understatement.

In a practiced motion, both Dealla and Eun-ji cast twin jets of pure force at an unsuspecting Lydia. Too bad her own Disarming Charm left her wand too late. She would only have enough time to exclaim at the pain of two Flipendos hitting her in the left shoulder and left leg, respectively, before being thrown unceremoniously off of the stage unconscious. Julian for the most part, was also successful in his own spell, singeing not only Eun-ji's arm but also making their clothes burst into a merrily-sparking flame.

"Wands up, if you will. Medics, please see to it that Miss Cooper is patched up immediately." He would command just as the medical team escorted the Hufflepuff's prone body out of the arena.

The boy was glad at how quickly things were progressing. Definitely a vast improvement from his previous bout.

It might be weird for someone to be celebrating that a person has been eliminated so quickly, but Dmitri isn't just someone. If anything, it was all to his benefit.

"Alright. Proceed."

Dee grinned across the stage, weight still leaned forward in anticipation of more spells she'd have to dodge. "But where would be the fun in that?" she replied to Lydia's suggestion to make their job easier.

Eun-ji's apology was shrugged off. Dee had done far worse in her own first duel, not that she tended to brag about that specific experience. As long as they were still winning, it was fine. That opinion might have been different if things hadn't been going so well for them, but they were, and that meant Dee could afford to be generous with her partner's mistakes. Eun-ji's offer to fetch snacks while Dee finished up here elicited a grin - so Eun-ji did know how to banter. "Nah," she refused, "let's leave the snacking for our victory party. Time for you to show off a little, too."

Lydia didn't seem to be in very good shape anymore, which was admittedly what they had hoped for. Dee usually didn't produce the most powerful spells - not like Phaedra or Aida or Thomas. Her strengths were consistent casting and both being quick on her feet and a decent shot. So they had focused on Lydia first, hoping that taking her out as fast as possible would leave them at the advantage of being two against one opponent. It was working well enough.

When both her own and Eun-ji's Flipendo hit Lydia, the girl was thrown off the stage by the force, and Dee winced. Oops, perhaps one spell would have been enough - but better safe than sorry. "Nice aim," she told Eun-ji, feeling like some sort of encouragement was in order. "All according to plan, hm?" Only then she realised that if she hadn't dodged either of their opponents' spells, they must have aimed for her partner (or aimed really badly).

A glance at Eun-ji confirmed that the former was true, and the girl was now wandless as well as on fire. Dee paused. Oh. Maybe she would be winning this duel mostly on her own, with Eun-ji now again incapable of casting. Well.

"Nah," Dee refused, "let's leave the snacking for our victory party. Time for you to show off a little, too." Eun-ji sure hoped there would be something to celebrate. Yeeah…no pressure. The witch didn’t want to start doubting her abilities but she had no reason to be confident either. Still, she wanted to give her captain something. Their plan was loud and clear… by now even to their opponents, considering Julian’s previous words. That much was not unexpected however. On the contrary, it was kinda hard not to notice. The thing was... it worked. Sure, Eun-ji was not doing well but it did work nonetheless and so they decided to stick with it.

It hit!! The witch almost couldn’t believe it. Unfortunately, her excitement was very short lived because she soon found herself wandless. Lydia’s final revenge. It was disappointing to say the least since that meant Eun-ji was out for another round and her teammate was once again on her own. "아이씨 정말 짜증난다./Aish…Jeongmal jjajeungnanda!" Damn this is so annoying/frustrating! The girl cursed under her breath. Well, at least she is not fighting two people at once. The Ravenclaw wanted to feel bad for their unconscious opponent but it was very hard with your arm and clothes on fucking fire! She was no stranger to pain but that didn’t mean she liked it. Anytime something big happened, she tended to switch to Korean and this here was definitely big. It may have seemed strange to some students at Hogwarts but this was the first time Eun-ji was on fire and she definitely didn’t like it. "I'm still not joining Quidditch..." She thought while she was gritting her teeth to get through the burning pain.

Julian had known it was only a matter of time until it happened, but it still surprised him when the Slytherin boy that was overseeing their duel called a halt to the proceedings. He craned his neck, trying to find Lydia and make sure she'd be alright. Even though he knew she'd only been hit by knockback jinxes and she'd be just fine (he'd survived being set on fire, after all), it still felt a little callous to fall back on his stance and turn his attention back to his opponents. But he had no choice--distraction would only get him hit, and he was sure Lydia wouldn't appreciate if he went and lost them the duel while she was out.

It was only once his attention was back in the game that he noticed that Eun-Ji was (a) wandless and (b) on fire. It seemed both Lydia and him had managed to score a hit before. Any satisfaction he felt evaporated quickly at the as it occurred to him that he had set someone on fire.

"Sorry," he blurted out with a wince. He wanted to add that he hadn't mean to but, of course, he had. "That's how I lost last time. I know it's not very pleasant..."

The Hufflepuff boy certainly wasn't going to let the elimination of his teammate slide. Julian, with what seemed to be his favorite spell, successfully reignited the flames that were eating up a portion of Eun-ji's clothes. The projectile of flames was still able to hit her even when she ducked and weaved to look for her wand.

With the fiery pain she was experiencing, it was a little bit of a consolation that she was able to find her tool of trade not a few moments later.

Dealla for the most part, has been doing the bulk of the work for the Ravenclaw team. This round was no exception. A respectable Wind Jinx was able to hit the lone Hufflepuff across from her, blowing at him with a gust of wind which looked like it would definitely affect how he'd move if he tried to.

Overall, the Hufflepuff side was still going strong—fighting back even when there was only one left standing. Of course, the Ravenclaws did not seem to be holding back, either.

There was still quite a bit more to do before Dmitri could announce a winner.
