Round Two

Once more the fifth year, who was moderating this duel ended up being confused by its contestant, or rather by one of them. Frost just stood there, doing nothing. She did not even appear to be intend on dodging a spell that might have come her way, she seemed simply absent-minded as if there was something more important on her mind. Her partner, Atlas however, would not just sit by idly as the other team attacked her relentlessly, but instead would choose to attack back. With skill she would cast a spell directly at Callie, causing her to dance the boogie right after she cast an Incendio Duo on her own. The flame would re-ignite Atlas, where the previous flame would have died. Robert's skill seemed to be on a whole other level this round, as he would cast his spell, the knockback jinx seemed to hit with a precision that was almost scary. There had been no way for Atlas to tell how to dodge this one.

Interacting with @Callie Jensen, @Frost Cira, @Atlas Rey, and @Alan Vanes
Robert smiled slightly as his spell connected with his target. He felt like he was in a daze, aware of everything happening, able to react, but slightly detached from the events around him. It was an odd sensation, one he was not a stranger to, but still disconcerting, especially during a duel. Hopefully the fact that his spell hit meant he was waking up a bit though, meaning the feeling would go away shortly.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 4
Everything about this duel had been a little baffling for Callie so far. The poor girl was used to things going horrifically wrong from the beginning and could only hope and pray her own bad luck didn’t come back to haunt her.
Sure enough that brief period of good luck ended with the familiar sensation of the boogie. Some people might’ve been mad at the whole ordeal but not Callie. That girl knew better than to try and deny the grooves of the boogie.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 4
Out of the six spells cast in this duel, two had gone in her favor. So one could say that the higher entities of duelling were not exactly on her side today. Atlas knew that if she wanted to stay on her feet, her luck would have to increase. Drastically. And this was something she didn't think was going to happen since the second the fire burning her skin went out a new one lit up, scorching the same exact spots. It felt like what Atlas imagined being stabbed in an open wound would feel like, so much worse than the burn of the original flame. As the girl flinched at the pain, eyes squeezing shut, nose wrinkling, head turning toward her right shoulder, she was knocked backward. She stumbled and as her feet tried desperately to keep her upright, Atlas began to count.
Counting, anything she could see or remember, always stabilized her. She never thought she would be counting random things in the middle of her first duel but having resorted to this as a method of calming herself for so long, it was automatic for her brain to do so when she needed something to anchor her, and if she wanted to remain conscious, the anchor was definitely needed. There were 32 letters in the spells she had used so far, 22 M&M's in the pack she ate this morning, eleven moons drawn on her piste, four people standing on this piste.

As before there was no sign of Frost planning to participate at all and Alan could not help but feel badly for Atlas who was left to her own. The flame on her flickered to an end, as she was ready to dodge both of the spells that came headed her way. Robert and Callie would both miss their spells as they were not able to calculate in the movement of the badger. Alan would watch the duel go on. It was not looking good for Hufflepuff at the very moment.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 4
Frost took in a deep breath and let it out, hoping to expel any nervousness or negative feelings out with it. She took a step onto the stage for the first time in forever, a strange feeling of nostalgia and excitement flooded her stomach. She was glad to be here again.
But for some reason, the girl was unbearably nervous. What if she had let down her new partner? Or the entire team? What if her spells didn’t cast correctly? What if she forgot how to function at all from the nervousness? Frost tried her hardest to shake the thoughts away. But after a few words of Alan’s introduction, Frost had unknowingly let the thoughts consume her, completely zoning out.
Suddenly she was brought back with great alarm and urgency. Fire, she smelled fire. And the sound of a bang of a knock back jinx. Where the shell of a girl had just been standing was Frost, back to normal. How long had passed between her zoning out and the start of the duel?
But she sprung into action, her older sister tendencies and motherly nature shining through, purposeful.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 4
It seemed that no matter how often Callie practiced she was forever doomed to have her spells miss their mark. She did her best to not let her disappointment show too clearly but this manifested in a strange sort of laugh instead. Not exactly the most normal reaction but it did wonders in settling Callie’s nerves a smidge.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 4
Interacting with @Callie Jensen, @Frost Cira, @Atlas Rey, and @Alan Vanes
This round, Robert felt like he was finally waking up for real. Even though his spell did not connect, it felt like one of those times when his opponent had successfully dodged his spell, as opposed to him missing his opponent. The second year breathed in the sweet smell of dueling, and grinned. He was back.
