Slightly late as per usual, Dee hopped up the stands to a decent seat, waving her gloved hands at Aurora and Delilah, then turned around while the moderator was already preparing to announce the start of the race. Why was she here, you may ask? Did Dealla Prince, Duelling supremacist and captain of Ravenclaw's team, suddenly develop an unexpected interest in the broom sports?
Of course not. What a silly question. Frankly, she didn't even know the rules of this event, beyond what the name suggested: People would be on brooms, and they would try to be faster than the others. Probably.
Then why was she here? Clearly to support the Ravenclaw team, and not at all because of any Hufflepuffs, of course. Certainly not because of any specific Hufflepuff, nope. She was appropriately done up in Ravenclaw colours, hat, scarf, and all, to prove it.
Leaning forward slightly, Dee squinted through the cold air to get a good look at the Ravenclaw team. There was no one she really knew... wait, that was Clair, right? She'd spoken to her a bit at the Yule celebration before the holidays. That counted. The other faces just seemed like varying shades of unfamiliar, especially with the distance between them. Merlin, were those all first years? They'd be in trouble.
Pulling off her thick mittens that protected her fingers from the cold for a moment, Dee stuck two fingers into her mouth to whistle loudly. "Go Ravenclaw! Clair, you got this!" she yelled. There were several other people cheering for the small eagles. It seemed their Broomracing team had quite a fanclub. Then, with a bright grin, "Knock Jack off his broom!"

Juniper jumped up and down. She glanced over to the other team, and frowned slightly. They had older kids... and they all looked very strong... but no worry. Ravenclaw got this! She knew Serena from a few interactions, but she knew her spell casting was good. Really good. And her armor... amazing! She was friend's with everyone on the Ravenclaw team except for one person... she did NOT want them to get hurt. "LIN, ARI, EMILY, AND CLAIR!" She shouted, cupping her hands to echo her voice. "THE HUFFLEPUFF TEAM MIGHT HAVE OLDER YEARS, BUT THAT JUST MEANS THEY'RE OLD PEOPLE!!! YOU HEAR THAT?" She shouted, taking a breath. OLD. PEOPLE!!!! KICK BUTT! KICK SOME BADGER BOOOTY!" Her ferret, Poppy, made a chattering sound on her shoulder. "POPPY SAYS GO RAVENCLAW!!"
She leaned back in her chair, listening to the person on the field. THe match was starting. And eagles would clearly win. Obviously. If they didn't well... Juni wouldn't be very happy with Hufflepuff. And no one better end up in the hospital wing, no one on the ravenclaw team, anyway. THey better kick some butt. That was all she had to say. And that was all was needed.

“Kill ‘em dead, Ravenclaw!”
Oh, much better. Why kicking arse when you can straight up remove their names from existence? “YES KILL THEM DEAD!”
They said an angel was on your right while a devil was on your left, both would persuade us to do good or bad. For Aurora, the devils were around her, no space left for light from heaven. But this time, the suggestion came out as a voice that she could hear. Very real and familiar. It sounded like him, and clearly, he was not a red creature with two horns and a tail, or was he? She turned around in a swift motion, maybe accidentally slapped his face with her long hair it’s up to you ehehe. “NICK! HI!” From tense to full excitement, perhaps it was his hidden ability to make her instantly happy. It hadn’t been more than five minutes, but she already bombarded him with questions. “Why are you not resting now? Don’t you feel sore after yesterday’s match? I am really happy to see you though, I just don’t want you to be sick, that’s all.” She might hover a little too close, but she was just a caring individual for those who gained her trust.
Then a girl with shoulder length hair made her way to where Aurora stood. From the quick identity scan, she was an older Ravenclaw and one of the headliner reporters. If she had recalled correctly, she was also in the tower when the attack happened. But the problem was, the data that had her name couldn’t be found, gone. It started with a D. D—d—doo doo doo. “H-hii” Still giving her the same excitement, but the awkwardness was quite apparent. “Y-yeah, but right now I am more of a—what is it?—therapist—no—emotional support.” Never ending nervous giggles surely wouldn’t help in this situation. Hopefully the reporter wouldn’t write an article about how bad Aurora’s memory was if she’d notice.
She wasn’t alone, Nicholas was there, slowly turning into an ice sculpture and desperately needed her help. Probably not, but she needed an excuse to prevent the brunette Ravenclaw from further questioning her. “O-oh are you cold? Good thing I have a scarf with me.” She pulled out a knitted fabric, and it was… yellow and black? Even from a thousand miles away, anyone would notice that it was a Hufflepuff scarf. Quite ironic since she was telling the eagles to flick their rickety and dusty badger bones off the broom. Unlike the rest of the stuff inside her bag, cluttered and messy, the scarf was very neatly folded. Though it looked a bit worn out, apparent enough that it had been through more than a decade, the woven strands still intertwined and were soft to touch. It did a perfect job to keep Aurora warm every night. With it, she felt the sacred bond between her and the first man that genuinely loved her even if he was out of sight, but not out of mind. She had only used it in public twice, the first day of the start term and at the disastrous birthday party of Winnie Harper. Mainly worried that it might be stolen by the haters, which was beyond one’s ability to count by hands.
Being overprotective with this scarf was an everyday thing. Touch it, and you will lose your arms. Whatever charm the boy did to her, it worked wonders. Not only did she willingly give it, but she would also wrap it around his neck ever so gently, making sure no piercing cold air would be able to freeze him to death. If the boy would accept her kind gesture, the next thing he would see was the smiling ear to ear Aurora. Her cheeks were starting to turn red. Don’t get your hopes up, it was the cold, obviously. But the adoration in her eyes might tell him otherwise. “Y-you’re cute” Yes, her mouth filter was gone, and the red colour quickly spread to her entire face. Realising to what just came out, Aurora, being a professional blusher slash embarrassment, she would continue to cheer on her team. But the wire that connected her brain to the mouth was broken. “GO GRYFFINDO—RAVENCLAW”

Phoenix had made an effort to wear blue today to support Ravenclaw. She put on a blue scarf and tied blue ribbons to her curly brown hair. She stepped outside and immediately felt the cool refreshing air against her soon-to-be red cheeks. Phoenix walked towards the stands and kept an eye out for someone specific. She knew Angel would be here. She had met her not long ago and Angel had thought of inviting Phoenix to watch the race with her. It's one of the two reasons Phoenix came. That and her best friend was competing.
Emily and Phoenix had been best friends since forever. They had grown up together and shared everything. They supported one another through everything so the idea of not coming made no sense to Phoenix.
She spotted Angel as she was about to stand up. For some reason though her focus was not on the race but on someone in the crowd. She couldn't exactly tell who but she could tell it wasn't a friendly stare. She approached Angel with a confused feeling but a smirk on her face.
- You know people usually come here to watch the race, not the crowd. She giggled as she stood behind Angel. Sorry I'm late, I just came out of the hospital wing. She rolled her eyes at the thought of that.

From just behind her, AngelFyre heard, "You know people usually come here to watch the race, not the crowd," and then she heard a lighthearted giggle followed by, "Sorry I'm late, I just came out of the hospital wing." Her first thought was that she clearly needed to cool her jets with respect to the red head. She meant her no harm, obviously, but she was definitely curious about her. Still, if that was the first thing Phoenix had to say to her, it probably meant AngelFyre had been too intensely focused, and that could be interpreted as aggressive or impolite, or both, and AngelFyre was neither of those things, nor did she ever wish to be perceived as such.Interacting with @Phoenix Adair but Others Welcome to Join
Her second thought was a wave of relief that Phoenix had shown up and she was not going to be sitting there alone, stewing in her thoughts. Company was going to be nice and it would give them a chance to get to know one another better. And her third thought, she was ashamed to admit, should have been her first. Turning around to greet Phoenix, she repeated the words that had finally severed all thoughts of a certain red head, and with genuine concern in her voice, she queried, "The hospital wing? Are you okay?"

When Simon noticed Haley, her smile only widened and she gave a loud "YOU GOT THIS SIMON!" in response to his thumbs-up and continued to cheer her boyfriend on. She noticed him waving at someone else behind her and the redhead turned around briefly. She didn't know who she was, but she guessed a friend of Simon's, probably Hoofflpuff as well. She smiled briefly before turning her head forward again, not noticing that she was already being watched by the unknown. Her gaze fell to the starting line again and it was far too difficult for the young rose to stand still. It was unbelievable how excited she was, as if she was standing down there herself or rather on the Quidditch field.
Surprised, Haley looked to the side as a girl with dark hair approached her, with her focus on the starting line she hadn't even noticed all that was being shouted around her and that she was standing next to her. At her comment Haley glanced briefly through the ranks and they were clearly outnumbered. Haley started to laugh, "I guess you're right." But that didn't mean they couldn't be the louder fans. "But then we'll just have to be the loud minority." Added Haley with a wink. "Haley Rose, nice to meet you." She introduced herself with a broad smile before turning her gaze back to the field, waiting impatiently for it to start.
"Gosh, I'm so excited, can you believe it?" Haley laughed at herself, shaking her head. She had completely forgotten how it felt to be on the other side and thought about whether her friends, Simon, Cosmo and the other Gryffindors felt the same way when they cheered for the lions during Quidditch or whether Haley was just too emotional.Open for InteractionInteracting: @Simon Kincaid @Lizzy Solace

As Simon noticed her, he waved before turning back to the starting line. She smiled encouragingly at him as he readied himself for the race. The girl started to laugh as she looked around, probably realizing Lizzy's observation was true. She responded by saying they would just have to be the louder minority. "That I can work with," she responded with a sly smile. "GO SIMON!" she yelled loudly.
As the girl introduced herself as Haley Rose, Lizzy had a nagging suspicion that she had heard that name before. "Nice to meet you as well, Haley!" Lizzy had never watched a broom racing match, but it was very exciting so far as Haley had pointed out. "I'm very excited too. I've never watched a broom racing match before. Most everything at Hogwarts is a new experience for me, being muggle-born. New stuff is just another adventure yet to be had though."
Waiting for the race to begin, Lizzy decided to figure out where she had heard Haley's name before, because now, she was certain it was familiar in some way. "Do you play any sports? It may sound odd, but I'm certain I've heard your name before somewhere." Lizzy hoped it didn't sound weird to be asking a question like that, but she was truthfully curious.

And soon, they were off. Juniper couldn't stand to sit, she was too short anyway. She watched Clair and one other stay at the starting point... and Clair... throwing a rock? "Clair I know I said kick butt, but you gotta move c'mon girl." She listened to what was happening and watched with a great deal of interest. The students reached the trees, and Juniper cringed when Emily got scratched. "You got this, Ems! Just a little scratch!" She cupped her hands around her mouth to echo her voice.
One of the girls on the team scraped herself on the bark, and Juniper winced. Ouch. "You got this guys! Be- be one with your brooms!" She spotted Lin and Ari falling a bit back. "LET'S GO ARI AND LIN!!" SHe shouted, hoping they heard her screaming. Poppy squeaked on her shoulder, and Juni scooped her into her hands and held her above her head Lion-King style. "Poppy, give them your luck!" She foolishly yelled. Her ferret seemed to enjoy being up there anyway.
And the Hufflepuff team seems coordinated. One teammate fell, another was right there to catch them. She watched in horror as they maneuvered the course well.

Apparently Clair hadn't noticed Dee's encouragement, her voice likely drowned out in the multitude of others cheering for Ravenclaw. Someone else had, though, and well, to be honest, that had been the important part, anyway.
Dee's grin only widened as she watched Jack scanning the crowd, looking for the source of the comment, and her heart skipped a nervous beat when he spotted her - which he made rather clear by pointing his finger at her and responding directly to her prompt to send him flying off his broom rather than on it. He'd get her next? A threat, a promise? Either way, he'd turned bright red, and Dee blushed a little in response, although with her nose a little pink from the cold already, it likely wasn't too noticeable. Merlin, she was enjoying this.
"Good luck with that!" she called back with a cheeky wave, then watched as the racers took off.
The little eagles weren't keeping up too badly, all in all, although they seemed to be struggling more than the Hufflepuffs - which wasn't that surprising. A few years more of experience dodging obstacles on high-speed brooms would be worth a lot here. Still, one of the Ravenclaws managed to keep pace with Jack and a Hufflepuff girl Dee's brain vaguely identified as older despite her not being very tall.
It also seemed that there actually weren't any Ravenclaws required to knock Jack off his broom, the weather did it for them. There weren't even any obstacles, just the wind, and Dee winced when she watched him fall, bracing herself for impact as if she was the one plummeting towards the ground. The impact didn't come, however, his teammate swerving to catch him, and Dee let out a small sigh, relieved, before raising her hands to form a cone around her mouth. "Gotta do better than that if you want to beat Ravenclaw, Jack!" she shouted. Could they even hear her over the distance? She wasn't sure.
Frowning, she took a look around at the other spectators. She should probably make an effort to find out the names of the Ravenclaw players. Hmm, who... Ah yes, her.
Hopping over to a very short, red-haired girl who had been shouting a constant string of support at the blue-robed team, Dee stopped next to her as if she'd been invited, then tilted her head to one side, smiling brightly. "Hi! Can you tell me who the Ravenclaw is who is currently in the lead? I think you know our team better than I do." A short pause. She was never sure which of her housemates actually recognised her as one of the Ravenclaw prefects when she wasn't doing prefect-y things. Either way, an introduction probably didn't hurt. "I'm Dee, by the way."

No good deed went unpunished, so the saying went, and it seemed to hold true even when that good deed was relatively insubstantial in terms of ‘goodness.’ Although, Nicholas supposed that the punishment was equally small in scope. Bright blue hair whipped into his face, a few stray strands catching in his mouth, the feeling entirely unpleasant and not at all expected. Nicholas shook his head rapidly, much akin to a dog desperately trying to shoo away a bee, releasing the girl’s locks and freeing himself in the process. The rapid movement was unpleasant, his sore and aching muscles shouting protests as he tried to steady himself. Of course, Aurora had to notice his stilted movement, the question digging at his sense of pride in a way that the girl had no way to foresee.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” He waved his hand dismissively as she enquired after his health, “Nothing bad enough to stop me from watching the race.”
His eyes darted over to the course as she came close, the blush on his cheeks entirely obvious in spite of his attempts to avoid eye contact, “Don’t worry.”
Thankfully, he was saved from the intense attention of the Ravenclaw racing captain by the approach of an older girl. A question posed toward Aurora in her role as captain, and Nicholas was free from the intense gaze of the birds’ team therapist. Nicholas took a deep breath, steadying himself as he did so, how was it that engaging with the girl was somehow more nerve-wracking than shooting past the enraged bundium?
Alas, the respite was temporary, for soon Aurora’s attention was turned back to Nicholas, who was doing his best to watch the take-off of the race. Still, he found himself drawn back to her as she enquired once more after his health. Was he cold? Well, kinda, his outfit was hardly conducive to escaping from the harsh reality of a highland January.
“Oh, uh, thanks,” He smiled, the blush deepening as she put the Hufflepuff scarf around his neck. It wasn’t his own house, but Gryffindor weren’t racing, so he wasn’t exactly betraying the trust of the pride of lions by supporting both the eagles and the badgers. Besides, the one Ravenclaw who he somewhat cared about had offered it to him, he’d betrayed no one.
Of course, his blushing only increased when she called him cute. He’d been deep in thought about the complexities of choosing a house to support in the race, once more lost in the peculiarities of his mind. The compliment dragged him back to earth.
His mouth hung agape, he couldn’t help it, before he rapidly began to speak, trying desperately to change the conversation topic, “What was that!?” He thrust his eyes back to the pitch, pointing desperately to the starting line.
“Are they just throwing rocks at each other? There’s a bloody race to fly? You see this right?” His attention turned from Aurora and to the older girl, his attention clinging to her like a man grasping for a lifecraft following a ship wreck.
“You saw it, yeah? Wild.” He nodded furiously, his eyes looking anywhere but Aurora.
He blinked, as if suddenly aware of his actions before extending his hand to the girl, “Nicholas McCowan by the way, I’m the Gryffindor captain.”
