Rising and Falling PV Sylvain Wyllt Finished

While relinquishing the burden of his sorrow through the vent of his fingers, he felt Sylvain's hand on his shoulder, and took the opportunity to lean into his friend in a side embrace. Now that Flash had unloaded, the expected outcome of Syl also being sad had arrived. Though there was guilt inherent in causing sorrow to others, Syl's words had made him feel as though causing pain was... sometimes a good thing. He could tell that it had made him feel better, to finally admit to his feelings.

"It's okay." Flash would reply quietly. "I think I needed it."

That was, he needed harshness that came from love. The world was often so unfairly harsh, and much of his pain had been a product of his trying to do the right thing, not as some kind of karmic comeuppance. Just because he was at a disadvantage didn't mean he was right, though. His reasons for being so duplicitous in his interactions were only estranging him further. He still wanted to be close to people, still wanted to be known and feel love. If he needed his head lifted from navel-gazing occasionally, he would need to accept some harshness for his own sanity.

After a bit of quiet, Syl would speak again, talking about enjoying each others' company. All at once, Flash would feel great relief and happiness, his heart skipping as a smile returned to his face. Syl talked about books, about mysteries, and pleasant distraction. Flash's heart continued to flutter, a strange impulse driven by the knowledge that Sylvain genuinely cared about him, knew his interests, and felt compelled to take action. Suddenly, his sorrow seemed so distant.

"I have a feeling anything would be fun if it was with you." Flash would answer, standing up. He'd offer his hand to help Syl off of the bed, and hold onto it as they moved on to wherever they intended to go.
