Why would you want to learn how to throw a knife?" "We're Wizards and Witches, we don't need to -
Kaegen had took his knife and embedded it in a tree, quite a distance away. She gaped at him, of course she expected it to come across such a scene, but she didn't expect an eleven year old to be accurate. How had he manage to even stick it in the wooden bark? Aurelia didn't think it was possible.

"What if you have been disarmed using expeliarmus charm from a distance and the only thing you've got is a knife?" Aurelia asked. It could be possible to come across a situation like that.
What do you mean 'are you done'? That was bloody wicked! You haven't taught us anything - you only demonstrated. C'mon, show us how to do it, proper.
A slight smiled spread across the brunette's fair face. At least the girl was not running back to hogwarts to tell a professor yet. Lette was in fact interested in whatever they were doing.

"It doesn't look that hard.." Aurelia said as her knife whipped through the air directed towards the tree. It dropped a few feet away from the bark and was not any where close to where she hoped for it to be. Her lips pressed into a pout.

"I think I would need some assassin's guidance," She looked at Kaegen.

The girl that came over soon proved to be more than a little weird. She said that what he did was wrong, worse than wrong. It was wicked. Worse than just wicked, it was wicked covered in blood. Bloody wicked. He wasn't sure what he had done to deserve being called wicked, all the had done was throw a knife into a log. A horrible thought crept through him, showing itself only as a twitch of the eyes as they changed direction on their way from the left to the right side. Could it be that the stick was alive? That it was a creature or art and he hadn't even noticed?
She followed up by saying that he hadn't taught them anything. He couldn't remember ever saying that he was going to teach them, why were they expecting to learn? It's not like he could teach them very much anyway, it was mostly practice. And even then knife throwing slipped your mind with surprising ease. You had to reteach yourself every day for at least a year before you could get it right off without some major warmup. Knife throwing looked easy but there were too many factors to count. How much of a spin you put on the knife, how hard you threw it, at what trajectory you threw it. You had to account for the distance, and then add them all together.
It was hard, but it was worth it. The girl that had tackled him asked what he would do if someone shot the wand out of his hand with a spell.
"Or you could just not let the wand get shot out."
And then she said the strangest line he had heard that day. She said she could use some assassin's guidance. That was random, but maybe if he found one to teach her she would be happier, and less violent.
"I don't know where a assassin is, but I could try to find one."

An assassin? Lettie thought the word was a bit harsh, as she definitely had no intention of killing people. "Clearly we don't mean full on assassin, we just want you to show us a few tricks," she said, placing her hands on her hips. Why was he making this so complicated? The boy seemed rather odd; certainly the type that Lettie would normally avoid, but she knew better than to be rude when she still wanted something from him. "Or maybe you're too scared?" she smirked, hoping to provoke him.

Without a knife of her own to use, Lettie glanced wistfully back at the one that was still sticking out of the log. "Would it be alright if I used that for a moment?" she asked him, but didn't wait for an answer before starting to head over towards the log. Now that she was up close, she could see that the knife was in pretty deep and it would take a bit of coaxing to get it out. She placed both hands on it and yanked as hard as she could. The knife wiggled a bit, but didn't come out. "Oof!" she exclaimed, her hands aching from the effort as she shook them in an attempt to restore the blood flow. "I can't get it out!" she looked back at the two others hopefully. Lettie was certainly not the strongest student at Hogwarts.

Im really sorry that I have kept y'all waiting for a week now. I honestly forgotten about this thread...

Clearly we don't mean full on assassin, we just want you to show us a few tricks,
Aurelia nodded at Lettie's answer. The eleven year old didn't think she could have answered Kaegen's intrugueing statement. She was sure that her request was referring to him, but it was obvious that Keagen hadn't got it the message.

Colette had walked over to the tree which larger had just embedded us knife into. Her hand gripped on tightly to its handle.
I can't get it out!
She yelled as she tugged hard at the end of the shape object. The ginger's head turned to Aurelia as if beckoning for her to come and help.

Aurelia pursed her lips into a thin line trying to fight of the smile that was creeping up her face. Then a small giggle escaped from her lips, Colette looked hilarious trying to yank out the knife. Could retrieving a knife actually be that hard?

"Alright, I'm coming." The brunette called. She skipped over, bending down to pick her own butter knife that she threw and miserably failed. Her fingers curled around the handle of the knife. It was stiff, but she was sure it would come out easily. She twisted it a little, hoping to carve out a bit of space for it to slip out.

"Ha!" She yelled victoriously as the knife was pulled out with a hard yank.

"Here," the girl smirked as she passed the knife to Lette.

You wouldn't be bleeding if you didn't let me hit you. Now PAY ATTENTION! Always take the opening, and if there isn't one to take, make one.
-Grandfather

They were playing with his knife. That was okay, he would ask for it later. Maybe when that one girl calmed down a bit, or at least learned how to fight better than that. The girl that had joined them was saying that he was too scared to teach them, which he didn’t understand.

Did he look scared? Why would he be scared of teaching, was teaching dangerous? He pondered for a moment about the possible dangers of teaching while the two girls played with his knife. They could use his skills against him, they could wait until he was distracted with a particularly riveting lecture and then stab him.

They could wait until the chalk dust slowly asphyxiated him, or maybe just wait until he gave them knives to throw and then “accidentally” throw them into his back.
Honestly, most of those were too far out there, and the ones that weren’t didn’t even require him to teach anyone. They could throw knives at him now, they didn’t need him to be a teacher to do it.

The moment of pondering over, he decided it was high time for him to leave. But first, he needed a distraction. What even was a distraction? It was something that made one look away, something interesting. A distraction didn’t even have to be something bad, a distraction could be something like a book, sometimes people wanted to be distracted.

And lo and behold, his eyes darted over to a dandelion. On the dandelion there sat a bee. It was a big bee, and actually pretty interesting. If that wasn’t a good distraction he didn’t know what was. All he had to do now was answer the girl’s question, seamlessly point out the cool distraction and then make his getaway.

“Look, a convenient distraction.”
He had forgotten to answer the girl’s question, but that was alright. The young ravenclaw pointed at the convenient bee, then turned and started walking away, smoothly stepping over the soft terrain on his way back to hogwarts. He had distracted both of them and made a getaway.

He would have to use that trick more often.
