Courage or Pride?

The effects of the wind seemed to be too much for Akira to focus the direction of his spell, weighing down upon his accuracy. The sparks from his Knockback Jinx bounced harmlessly off the back wall of the dueling club's walls, leaving a dark dent. The Mahoutokoro boy didn't even bat an eye at the damage he made. At this point, he felt that he would knock down everything in his wake to carve some damage into his opponent.
"Is that your strategy?" Henry's voice came from the opposite side of the piste. Akira cocked his ear to heat what he had to say, focus breaking for a second. "It's not very good, now is it? I can show you some after if you want." At this, Akira's lips curled into a sneer and his eyes narrowed at the third-year boy. Who did he think he was? Just because he was older, and Akira made one casting mistake, did Knight think that he could scornfully criticize what Akira was doing as if he were an expert?
Obviously, Henry was just trying to goad him into revealing his strategy. The clever snake merely wanted to gain insight into how he was thinking. Surely, he wasn't going to bend over to what Henry Knight wanted. "You can't possibly think I'd fall for that, Mr. Knight. I think you're just jealous that a younger student can carve away at your health so quickly," he responded spitefully, hopefully giving Knight a taste of his own medicine. If the boy wanted to play mind games, Akira would join in on the little dance.
His mask of politeness was firmly cast off, now. There was no point in upholding any sense of decorum. What good was there in maintaining his 'image' at a time like this? If the rules allowed it, he would do anything in his power to win, and no one could say a word otherwise.
"Incendio," he uttered, willing the flames to scorch and burn through the billowing fog. Maybe screams would bring him some satisfaction.

Henry readied his wand. A part of the third year did want to win the duel but it wasn't all his mind could focus on, winning wasn't crucial and Henry cared more about not hurting the first year across from him than winning.
The fog separated the two once more, Henry nodded his spellwork glad that there once again is a barrier between the two duelists. Henry enjoyed the idea of his opponent not being able to see him and vice versa however it did pose a challenge to casting.
Henry aimed his wand, mind focus, and a strategy brewing within his mind when Henry heard the boy's words. Fall for what? Henry wasn't planning anything and there was a element in the Mahoutokoro student's voice that he found to be rude. Henry shook away the thought, Akira is younger than him so maybe he was just gettung upset with the course of duel.
"I'm not jealous nor planning anything. I just want to help, my offer will still be available later if you want to practice and learn from each other." Henry spoke as he quickly jumped to the side, nimbly avoiding a incendio. The teen choose not to use fire in duels, it would be the one spell that he swore to never use and yet it was commonly used by his opponents.
Henry eyed the cloud of fog and strom mixing, aiming his wand. Henry took a deeo breath then softly spoke"rictusempra," watching sparks fly into the fog and watching as only a few flew out meaning that the spell hit the boy a little right?
Henry aimed his wand again, wand in his hand as he formed a new strategy one that would aid him after rhe fog cleared. He hoped as Loki watched on from thr sidelines.

Alas, the fog obscured his vision so much that his carefully-cast Incendio flew off into the distance to set a mannequin aflame in the background. It didn't seem that the flames lasted long, since the practice mannequins were undoubtedly charmed in some way to sustain that damage without setting the whole place aflame. Akira tsk-ed in disappointment. He had been looking forward to setting that arrogant boy on fire.
'Not jealous or anything'? He'd 'still be available later'? To, what, flaunt his ability after Akira had lost? Akira clenched his free hand into a fist, willing his rage to quell. This would simply not do. He could not allow himself to fall so squarely into Knight's trap to irritate him. He had already carelessly flung a vengeful Incendio in the older boy's direction, only to miss while his concentration was likely off. He had to remind himself that Knight had an entire arsenal of spells that were multiple times beyond that of his own. He could not slip up -- every round was crucial. The longer he waited, the more likely that lightning would strike him.
Unfortunately for our sour boy, a Tickling Charm struck him. Pained, forced laughter erupted from his mouth before he clenched his teeth and he wheezed in a shout/cough. Knight really wanted him to suffer, didn't he? It would not do. All he wanted to do now was to end it.
Foregoing the chance to cast a General Counter-Spell, he gathered up his will power to cast a jinx instead. "Flipendo," he incantated.

If asked then Henry would probably say that his favorite spell is the winx jinx. Ventus. There wasn't anything that matched the spell, therr was also the chance that the spell could split. Splitting ones spells is extremely difficult but also a rather cool piece of magic that Henry started to become obsessed with. Reading on them ans looking for ways to learn the technique himself if that was even possible.
Henry's next favorite spell had to be nebulus. The fog charm. It took away the ability to see your opponent from both sides. It didn't involve the whole stage to be covered in fog and it could serve as a second chance, distract your opponent so you can take a breath or perpare your next spell.
Henry leaved his wand, mind still flickering when the Mahoutokoro boy attemptednto cast incendio at him. A fire charm? The teen couldn't believe that he would cast it, Henry thought that he was honorable but now was rethinking that. Since incendio caused more damage then one.
Casting the slug vomiting charm, Henry watched the sparks fly through the fog. Squinting to see if it connects but unfortunately the sparks flew out the other end of the fog. Colliding with the ground.
To add to his failure, Henry felt a knockback jinx hit his chest. Taking the wind from him as he tighten his chest. Taking a moment before taking a breath, shaking away his pain. The teen wouldn't allow Akira to see him suffering, to see him weak, or failing. Taking his stance, mind focused. The teen perpared for the next round as he watched the fog cleared. The barrier leave the two. Now he could see the boy perfectly... which isn't exactly a good thing.

Courage or Pride?

Akira saw some flickering movement through the fog, and managed to evade the Slug Vomiting Charm just in time, dancing out of the way with a smooth pivot, the hem of his haori a-flourish. Mid-twist, he shot a Flipendo through the thick fog, then wondered if his jinx managed to land a blow. Dueling was as much of a dance of wits, mettle and skill as it was of spells, it seemed.
As the fog cleared, Knight seemed a little more worse for wear as he recovered back into an upright position. Akira supposed that he had managed to strike a blow upon the third-year, after all, despite all the odds that had been stacked against him. Through gritted teeth from the damage he had already sustained, he managed a smirk. "You alright there, Knight?" he asked, not particularly concerned about the impact of the Knockback Jinx as he was interested in making a subtle jibe, if the older boy was so eager with the mind games. Akira's normally neat, pristine, and tidy hair was now tousled and a nest upon his head from repeatedly pushing it back, jostled by his attempts at evasion and from being stricken. The glint in his eye was frenzied, possibly an after-effect of the random bursts of cackling laughter from the Tickling Charm.
There was no telling what Knight was up to next. The third-year seemed to really want to stack all the odds against him. Was it a Slug Vomiting Charm that the had just managed to evade? Akira's expression soured at the thought of having to throw up one slimy creature after another. Knight's repertoire of spells was likely more brutal than he imagined. And now, with the fog gone, he was a clearly visible target. Perhaps he ought to quell his impatience and bide his time to see what Knight had in store next.

The fog cleared. The barrier between the two duelists now a thing of the past. It made casting more diffcult but the teen kinda liked having the fog between them, it kept the mahoutokoro from seeing his failures and struggles. Now, the teen had to keep a focus face and hide those struggles and failures manually.
Watching the boy, Henry expected a spell or some revenge from that tickleing charm that he cast moments ago. The teen aimed his wand, the words of the lad circling his mind. Henry was about to respond when he thought of something, Akira used only his surname. No formality. The teen took a breath, realizing that the duel might be getting to both of them. Henry thought that perhaps they should stop as he aimed his wand to cast a rather harmless spell.
"Obsrcuo," Henry whispered watching a blindfold flap it's way toward the Asian boy but unfortunately he choose to dodge this round. A key point that Henry forgot to see watching as the blindfold landed then laid useless on the ground.
Henry shook away the few feats of failure, wand aimed as he looked over at Akira. It seemed his younger duelist wasn't doing well either, he did choose to dodge and the teen made a assumption as he spoke"if you want we can call this off? If it's becoming to much for you," gaze flickering over the fellow duelist. Concerned for his well being not realizing how harsh and damaging that his wirds could be.

What was that? Did Knight just sigh dismissively as Akira asked him if he was okay? Akira's expression darkened. Surely, the older boy had some sort of 'holier than thou' complex. The Japanese boy scoffed, lip curling slightly in disgust. Well, if that was how Knight wanted to operate, he didn't mind matching his step.
A blindfold unfurled itself in the air as Akira moved swiftly to the side. The dark cloth merely fluttered to the ground and lay there, instead of strapped tightly across his brown eyes. For a moment, Akira stared at it, simply thankful that he had dodged in time, lest his eyes be bound and his vision completely impaired. He would simply be floundering around, unable to do much as a sitting duck, an easy prey for Knight. Hadn't Knight tried to humiliate him enough? Attempting to make him vomit slugs and using the Tickling Charm on him?
"If you want we can call this off? If it's becoming to much for you," Knight said. Akira responded with a glare of piercing daggers, narrowing his dark eyes at the older boy. How dare he underestimate him! -- talking down on him this entire duel, finding every opportunity he could to show off his two extra years of experience.
Akira focused on Knight intently. "Quite the contrary. I think I've seen enough. You've put on quite a show with your repertoire of spells. And now, all I want to do is end it myself," he said, lifting his chin, teeth bared, and summoned his next spell, willing it to strike.

Henry looked at the mahoutokoro lad. Bkue gaze set on him. His emotions hidden but within, in his mind he felt sadden and a tad concerned for him. His words ringing through his ears. Did this fuel turn from a pratice or something else? Henry only wanted to learn from this boy and in return teach him something new not to have a duel that could have lasting and devastating consequences.
Heney held his wand in front, following his words of showing off his large knowledge of spells. Henry twirled the piece of wood as he whispered his next spell.
A blanket of fog covered his opponent. Akira Shimizu. The teen knew it was risky to repeat spells, leave himself open for incoming attacks. It would have been better if he dodged, avoid anymore damage ans recollect his thoughts but the fog charm is his second favorite. Plus he could no longer see Akira and vice versa.
Now the lad couldn't see Henry stuggle and Henry could block his thoughts of concern and worry for the lad. At least till the end of this duel which hopefully will be soon...
Henry saw the sparks of the knocback jinx, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he swayed to the side but wasn't fast enough. At the last moment the spell hit, sending back a few steps. Henry shook his head, eyeing the fog hoping Akira hadn't seen that befire retaking his spot. Mind already forming ideas with his next spell and how he will end this duel.

Courage or Pride?

Once again, fog filled the air, obscuring his sight. That blasted fog. What was Knight trying to hide, anyway? On the misty piste, Akira couldn't be sure if his Knockback Jinx struck its target or not. However, he had no time to wonder as a flurry of sparks shot out of the fog and struck him squarely.
What... what was this feeling? The Mahoutokoro boy felt himself double over involuntarily as a rush of nausea flooded his stomach and throat. He slapped a pale hand over his mouth in the form of a fist, clenched so hard that his knuckles shown white. His wand hand held his stomach. There was something crawling up his throat, and he could feel it wriggling...
He couldn't hold it in any longer. The regurgitation came so naturally for his body, but not for his mind.
A single, brown slug erupted from his mouth and onto the floor, wriggling to safety now that it had escaped captivity in Akira's stomach, leaving a trail of slime.
His dark eyes stared at it in horror. Did that really just come from his mouth? He had heard of the Slug-Vomiting Charm, but he had never thought he would encounter someone who would cast it upon him. In all honesty, he would rather be engorged by the flames of Incendio than seen vomiting slugs from Slugulus Eructo... The humiliation! In a foreign school! He preferred the searing pain of fire to the dishonor of vomiting slimy animals. As he cursed under his breath, he was interrupted by another ascending slug.
He slowly raised his narrowed eyes, searching for Henry Knight's figure in the fog. Was the Hogwarts boy laughing quietly to himself now? After hearing Akira's painful retching sounds from across the piste and as one slug after the next fell to the floor? With each slug, he felt his hatred for the boy boil more furiously in his veins. "Knight, you bastard!" he called through the fog, in between slugs.
He raised his wand swiftly and decisively, with absolute certainty as to what fate should befall his opponent next. He would end this. "Incendio," he hissed, voice filled with malice. Let him burn in hell.

Squinting through the smoke,
the lad couldn't tell if his spell missed or not. Canning his neck as he squinted until his ears perked up toward the Mahoutokoro lad's words.
A step back. Henry was sure that his spell hit now and not only that the lad seemed angry, emotional even. There seemed to be tension in the air. Henry didn't want either to get hurt and had to quickly come up with a way to stop this duel before someone did. Mauling over his options the teen didn't cacth his opponents words or saw the sparks headinf for him until it was to late.
Fire cuaght onto his jacket and immediately flames enclosed the teen. Henry hated that spell, using it and feeling the affects of it. Attempting to control his emotions and focus, Henry aimed his wand for himself as he whispered"extinguo." The flames flickered away, leaving only a burning sensation covering his body as his lungs ached and coughed. Coughing that his opponent could hear.
Henry looked over at his orange feline thwn the fog when he got a idea. Leveling his wand, taking slow steady breaths. The teen reminded himself that this had to work. It needed to or someone could possibly find themselves injured.
"Petrificus Totalus."
A string of light flew from his mayhaw wood wand to the smoke cloud then disappeared inside. The teen wasn't about to stick around to see if the body binding spell hit or not. Henry ran off, stepping quietly to the side. Collected his items and Loki then ran from the room with his feline at his heels.
The pair would run from the dueling room past corridors and down stairs till rhey reached the dungeons, taking a moment to breath. The teen didn't want to imagine how Akira might be feeling but now didn't want to cross the boy.
Henry cast Petrificus Totalus at Akira then left the thread with Loki
