A hum escaped Vale's lips at Avery's own questions. The boy was endearing to her, but it's still fun to watch anyone wait in fear of whatever glorious deed an Ashwood may cook up. "Shh!" Vale made a small giggle at her own mischief, a finger up to her said lips.
"I can't tell you everything now, can I? Just know it'll come in black." Vale was taking rather too much joy in her tiny ploy.
A large smile ensnared her face as she removed her finger away. "It won't be so bad, I promise." Vale moved down to pat her knees from the dirt that caked them, and immediately moved back up to begin kicking away dirt back into the hole she made, covering up everything inside before she decided it was the right time to head back in for the day. Vale nodded at her handy work, giving him one smile. To think the death of Ms. Bickerton would allow her to obtain a date to the Fall Ball? Ms. Bickerton, your death was surely not in vain indeed! "See you there then, Avery!" Vale laughed her trademark laugh as she skipped away back to the dorms. How fun indeed, Vale thought. How, ever so, fun.

It seemed that he wasn't going to get anymore clues from Vale Ashwood, no matter how hard he might seek out to try. The girl's mischievous giggle and retort told him everything he needed to know. He wasn't going to get another word out of her.

"Black, huh?" he asked, mostly as a way to turn the idea over in his head himself than to ask for clarification. "I guess I can work with that," he said, glad it wasn't some sort of overly-garish color instead, something that would take him weeks to find. However, he looked back at the eyes in his hand and wondered what in the world he was to do with those. Swallow them because they had magical properties? No, Vale couldn't possibly be using some sort of insane, forbidden magic for something like an outfit to the ball, or could she? Was he to put them in his pocket, where they would eventually sprout into an outfit he could wear?

Just as he looked back up to ask her what he was to do with those, Vale stood up. "See you there then, Avery!" she piped gleefully, and cackled before running off into the distance. "Wai-" Avery began, but it was no use. The girl was gone, pigtails bouncing.

With a sigh, he headed back towards his dorm. He'll find a way to use these eyes, somehow or the other. Hopefully, they didn't have minds of their own and stare at him at night, or something.
