"No, no, it's good to have a lot of things you like," he interjected. She didn't need to apologize at all. He was glad to hear that she had someone close to her also at Hogwarts. It was hard having EVERYTHING so new. Luckily he had made some strong friendships, even so early into his time at Hogwarts. Some were pretty strong, others...well he wasn't sure. Hopefully in the long run it would all be alright. He was in the process, he hoped, of fixing things.

"Sounds like you've got lots of things to help occupy your time. And don't worry, those professors are going to keep you busy as well," he smiled. "I might take you up on the offer," he said, scanning over the book cover. "I do a lot of reading myself. I like to read the so called classics and try and determine whether or not I think they're classics. I also like music. Here at Hogwarts since I can't have a record player or my iPhone and apple music, I write my own or practice the guitar or piano. It's where my mind wanders most of the time. It's a nice escape," especially when things seemed to get too heavy.

"My aunt is a baker. Sort of. She works at this five star rated bakery and bookshop in London. She's always trying out new things and making me taste them. I'm not a fan of sweets but she is persistent on finding something that I like. I don't think she's ever going to succeed though, sadly. For those that like sweets, she's an amazing baker. She really shouldn't take it to heart," he smiled.

"Thank you for understanding about me having a lot of different hobbies " Crystal said to Simon whilst smiling knowing that he understood her . Crystal felt a bit surprised when she heard that Simon understood about her having a wide range of different interests. Many people thought that Crystal was a bit weird by having so many different hobbies she likes doing but no this guy who she has only just met actually understood about her having so many interests, Crystal felt like not only did he understand about her having so many hobbies but he actually thought it was really really cool that she did have so many hobbies. Crystal smiled at the fact that he did like that about her.

"Yeah I bet they will keep me busy " She joked around with him feeling a bit worried what if she overworks herself as she is quite often known to be staying up till late doing art but also felt happy as she likes to be busy . " That great about the guitar , I mean the main instrument I do is singing but then again singing isn't really a instrument " She said whilst giggling feeling the fact that she doesn't really have any musical talents.

"No, no, no, your voice IS an instrument, surely," he said encouragingly. "Singing is the best instrument too because you can always bring it with you...well, almost always. Maybe not after a large concert in Royal Albert Hall but other than that, you most likely always have it with you." He knew this from experience. Simon liked to go to concerts when he could, hang outside to hear a group when he couldn't, and even sometimes try and sneak in. It didn't matter if it was a current popular group or a symphony or orchestra. The boy just loved music.

"A good place to practice is the Rehearsal Room," he informed her, just in case she hadn't heard about it. It wasn't the most popular destination within the walls of the castle. "It's located on the Fourth Floor. If I'm not here, I'm there a lot of times." Sometimes he'd bring his guitar with him, sometimes he'd just go and practice the piano, sometimes just to collect his thoughts, and other times to dance and once in a blue moon sing.

"You know we had that talent show just a couple weeks ago and a singer won that," he nodded. "See? Singing...a talent on its own. Oh, and the school has the Frog Choir. Maybe that's something you'll want to sign up for." He had, but he had been neglecting it. They were going to sing at the upcoming Fall Ball and he hadn't written his name down for participation. Maybe in their next event.

When Crystal heard Simon talk about concerts ,She felt so happy as it reminded her of the times when she used to watch stage shows with her family. "I love seeing stage shows with my family ,I have recently saw a stage show which was about the film called Narnia. It was amazing , Have you ever been to a stage show if so what is your faviourite one you seen? " Crystal thought it was amazing that they both loved music

When Crystal heard about the rehearsal room she felt so relieved knowing the fact that she could perform her singing and listening to others playing music still and thought to herself she will definitly check that out .

Crystal did feel a bit confused though, What is the frog choir ? she first thought is it people wearing green jackets and dressing up as frogs whilst singing but she realised that sounded to silly so she thought she would ask Simon what it was considering he was the one who spoke about it "Sorry to sound silly but what actually is the frog choir ? How do I parcipate in it and dam I missed the talent show if I knew that was on I would of definitly parcipated in it "

"No, it's uh..." he paused. How did one describe the Frog Choir? "Well, it's a tradition here. It's singing, but...with frogs. The frogs help with the accompaniment to it all. We do the singing and provide the melody and the frogs take care of the rest. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a wizarding tradition or just a Hogwarts thing," and he paused. That was something to write down.

Simon pulled out a notebook from his bag and flipped it open, taking a moment to write down the question. Just one of a countless many on the subject of the wizarding world that he had. He would look it up another day, but he definitely wanted to know the answer.

"So how'd you feel about making Hufflepuff?" It was the one house that it seemed a good majority of people didn't want to get into. Simon didn't quite understand it. Sure, Slytherins had determination and Gryffindors had bravery and Ravenclaws had knowledge...but Hufflepuffs had loyalty and perseverance and helpfulness. That was something to be valued. Well, not just valued, but held at great value. He was proud to be a Hufflepuff. Still, he knew for some it took time to come to the acceptance.

"Ahhh Yess I understand about the frog Choir now , it actually sounds quite fun so I shall be looking out for that . "Crystal felt relieved that she knew what he meant by the frog choir now even though she felt a bit silly thinking it was just people looking like frogs .
Even tho Crystal has never seen or even heard of the frog chior before , Crystal felt like she would rather love being in the frog choir as she loves singing . Crystal has always loved singing ever since she was a child , She used to karaoke often with her mother back at her home in Sunbury-on-Thames which Crystal often won at . She wished that there was a place where you could do karaoke at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft And Wizardy but knew that there was not .

"Most people don't like being in Hufflepuff which I find weird but I love being in Hufflepuff as I feel it shows how loyal I am and a hard worker I am , How about yourself " Crystal knew that some people didn't like being in Hufflepuff which she found rather strange as to her it is a great house to be in.

"I love Hufflepuff and I think it's the perfect fit for me. I mean, I've got some poor qualities too, don't get me wrong. I'm far from perfect. No one is - but I'm loyal and devoted and persistent. I'm dedicated and helpful. Honestly, I think I'm about as Hufflepuffish as one can get," he smiled, shrugging a bit because maybe that was a little out there. He didn't really need to go THAT far.

"I always wonder how that hat seems to know where to place someone. I feel like Hufflepuff was a good fit for me and then Gryffindor a good fit for my mum. From what I've heard about her, she was so brave." And for a moment his thoughts went to that box that he came upon over the summer that he thought would have something to do with his mother in it. He had yet to open it and it still taunted him every single day. He wasn't ready to open it yet. He wasn't brave enough.

"Alright, I'm going to hit you up with some random rapid questions so I can get to know Crystal Snow a little better. Ready? No need to answer them in order..."

And he began.

"What is your middle name? What is your favorite color? How about favorite season and why? What did you spend most time doing back home before Hogwarts? If you could have any sort of exotic animal as a pet, and it be ethical, of course, which animal would it be?" Okay, too many, too much at once. One more though. "And what class do you enjoy the most here at Hogwarts?"

Damn, that was like Rapid Fire with Simon Kincaid. Not what he meant to happen, but he did truly enjoy getting to know other people.

When Simon was speaking about his personailty traits being so similiar to the Hufflepuff traits , Crystal started to understand even more why the sorting hat placed her in the house team Hufflepuff as she is also loyal and helpful.

Crystal agreed with Simon that the sorting hat must be magical as it always knows what house team is perfect for the individual to be in. She often wondered how the sorting hat always managed to get the house teams so correct.

Crystal liked answering the questions which Simon asked her as she found it interesting and a great way of having a discussion and getting to know someone. "My middle name is Amy , My parents said they chose Amy as my middle name as My mum always liked the name Amy. My faviourite colour is purple . I don't really know what my faviourite season is " Crystal paused for a miniute and giggles " I love Summer and Autunm. Bach at home I was often listening to music or going shopping with my mother whilst my father is working. " Crystal didn't quite know what Simon meant by exotic and ethical animals so she chose not to answer this question so onto the next question which was also difficult as Crystal loved a large amount of subjects at Hogwarts " I love a wide range of different subjects currently at Hogwarts but my faviourite 3 subjects are Muggle Studies ,Charms and Magical Creatures "

Crystal felt bad then as she felt like she was non stop talking " I am sorry about talking loads , I will be a bit quieter now " She then giggles again.

"How is anyone going to learn anything about anyone if they don't talk?" Simon asked, glad that Crystal had shared so much about herself. He could be a rather talkative person too so he tried to reign it in because he never wanted to dominate the conversation.

"To be honest, I find Muggle Studies to be a little pointless. I could see why the purebloods and that take it, don't get me wrong, but for someone like me that grew up in the muggle world...it's all pretty - well - obvious. An easy chance for a high grade, I suppose. I should look at the bright side of things."

"Amy's a good middle name. Crystal Amy Snow," he stated out her full name to hear how it sounded. Not bad. "A good solid name. And it doesn't fall into the category of overused like Grace or Rose or Anne or Marie for a middle name for girls."

The rain falling on the window seemed to soften a little through their conversation. Perhaps the rain was going to let up. There were still flickers of light though, lightning from the distance. That either meant the storm was leaving or the worst of it was still approaching. "I dated a girl named Amy once. Amy Rose Mason," he said, pausing. Irrelevant information. Nothing Crystal probably needed to know.

Crystal giggles " Yep that's true it is impossible to know anything about anyone if they don't talk."
Crystal wanted to know much much more about Simon but she felt so shy so she didn't know how to ask him about himself.

Crystal couldn't really understand how Simon found the muggle studies subject easy as she found some stuff in each of the subjects at the school very difficult to do espically flying and Herbology.

Crystal liked the fact that Simon liked her middle name . "That is very true my name is quite a unusal name , I guess it matches me quite well as a person as I am a unique individual"

Crystal felt sorry for Simon when she found out that Simon had to deal with a break up in his life " Sorry to hear about the break up "Crystal offered Simon a hug after finding out about the breaj up as break up's seem a diffucult times to go through even though Crystal has luckily never had to gone through a break up in her life so far. Crystal would love to maybe be in a relationship with a guy one day but she does not think she would handle a break up very well.
