Scarlet was surprised that she had managed to complete the first lap ahead of Kage, even if she only took that lead at the very end of the lap. It didn't come as that much of a surprise when she caught sight of Kage gradually moving around her, and eventually in front of her not long after entering the second lap. He had opted to take the curve on the innermost track, a smart option that Scarlet quickly regretted not seeing before him.

"Enjoy it - it's not going to last!" she called from behind him. Her early confidence in the first lap didn't exactly lend her much success in this lap, but she still had plenty of time to catch up and she didn't have that much distance to cover to get back into first.

As they pulled out from the second corner and began the straight stretch to where the race had started, and where they were about to enter their final lap. Scarlet figured it was anyone's game. She had led the first lap and Kage the second, both of them had shown they had the potential to win the race, so Scarlet just had to make sure it was going to be her.
