Wild Pumpkin Chase PV Errand Closed

The complete lack of help from anybody in the room had Matt laughing his ass off, torn between helping and running to find a sketchbook to draw this picture. Everyone standing around calmly discussing their next options while poor Avery wrestled with the pumpkin was such a great situation that for a long moment he just crossed his arms, kicked back against a wall, and enjoyed the view. Oh yeah, he'd draw this, and he'd title it 'Chaos.' Closing one eye, he held his hands up in a box to the other as an imagined framing.

"Too bad we can't keep them and release them in class," he sighed as he kicked off of the wall, now completely relaxed knowing the things could be taken out with a simple spell. If they got into his dorm he'd just Incendio them and eat roasted pumpkin seeds. Was it wrong to consider opening the things up and taking their guts out to make pumpkin pie? Were they sentient enough to feel it? That'd be disappointing for them. He wondered if pumpkins could scream as well as cackle. The thought of making pumpkin pie and turning them into jack-o-lanterns suddenly made him feel like a serial killer... so maybe no pie today.

Shaking the thoughts from his head, he made sure his wand was snug in his sleeve as he walked over to the door the other pumpkin was rattling against. "Nice to meet you, Rachel, digging the hair. I prefer green, myself, but..." He opened the door wide and stood aside to casually release the first creature from its captivity, not overly concerned what it did since he had the door to hide behind. There, he'd done his part, and if neither of the girls did anything... oh well. Maybe the professors would cancel class to clean up the mess. "...blue is nice, too. Definitely a second favourite."

"Well if only scary people want to become prefects, isn't it the perfect thing for you to do, scary man?" Samantha said joked to Avery, thinking back to one of their previous encounters. During the talentshow Avery had acted like he had been really scary, even though he was not.

Samantha watched Avery wrestling with the pumpkin, maybe she should help him instead of just watching him. But she would never join the wrestling, there must be a smarter way to help him. Rachel suggested to use a freezing charm or immobulus, which both were great idea's. Samantha quickly grabbed her wand and expected somebody to start counting down, so that everybody knew when the pumpkin would be released.

Matt took the initiative by opening the door, and he quickly hid behind the door. Samantha was slightly annoyed, why hadn't the boy told that he already was going to open the door, now it had been a surprise for her. She quickly pointed the wand at the pumpkin, which was happily ran to its freedom.

"Wingardium Leviosa" She watched as the pumpkin floated a little above the ground, making escaping impossible. "Quickly," she said, "Get the other pumpkin in there and close the door."

As they were planning, Rachel heard Avery say or comment something about Rachel's hair color meaning, or at least that's what she can understand which made her choke on air. "Is that some kind of guilt-tripping because I didn't help earlier?" She said, sweat dropping.

Hearing Matthew wanting to keep those pumpkins and cause chaos in class, Rachel looked at him with a concerned face. It would be an amusing and entertaining sight but it's still a heck no for her. Those pumpkins are crazy. But there's still a chance she would join in on the plan just for the heck of it. Matthew then said his color preference in which Rachel raised a brow and smirked. "Sure you do. And I'm sure the color greens a good shade for me." She said half sarcastically and half wondering if it would actually look good on her. "But thank you. And I'll keep that in mind when I decide to change my look again."

And then, in an instant, Matthew decided to open the door without any warnings. Rachel wasn't prepared so she quickly looked at Samantha who was quick to react and did the levitation charm. Out of impulsiveness and wanting to help, she raised her wand, aimed it at the pumpkin that was wrestling with Avery, and said, "Immobulus!" She watched as the said pumpkin stopped moving before she let out a sigh of relief. But out of the blue, she remembered that she was supposed to be meeting up with someone right now.

"Erm, I think you guys can handle this, sorry I got to go, I remembered something, good luck with those pumpkins, bye!" Rachel said in one breath, waving at them while hurrying off to the direction of the owlery.

That's right! He was the scary man, because, of course, Avery Chen was naturally scary, exactly like Sam had assured him last time. It totally went over his head that she was joking. That's how scary he thought he was. But if he was so scary, why wasn't anyone helping him, for fear of being beaten up afterwards for just standing idly by?

Was Matthew Gray laughing as he watched Avery wrestle the pumpkin? That little worm! Was he trying to frame the image of Avery on the floor in his mind? With that box he made in the air? "Matt, hurry your sleepy butt and help out! I know where you live!" he yelled at his dormmate. Instead, he seemed to be musing about releasing the pumpkins in class to disrupt it. Well, that didn't sound like a bad idea, actually... But no amount of snarky little ideas would make up for the pure exasperation that was Matthew Gray at this moment.

Was he guilt-tripping Rachel Davis? If she actually realized what he was talking about, then Rachel was quite the psychologist for figuring it out. "Yes, I think so?" he managed to sputter as he spat out the leaves. "Is it working?" he asked hopefully.

Either his little taunts helped, or people just felt sorry for the poor sight of him, he would never know. Matt opened the door, and Samantha levitated the captured pumpkin. Rachel even sent out a spell of her own and Avery felt the pumpkin stiffen and freeze. Finally! He carried the heavy thing and was about to toss it into the closet until Rachel said goodbye in a hurry and the spell wore off. "Oh darnnit!" Avery struggled briefly but managed to shove the thing through the door and slam it shut before it completely broke free. Done!

He leaned against the wall, and wiped the sweat off his forehead with a sleeve. "Good effort, everyone. But the help really could've come sooner, though," he said between pants. "Not sure what you were all standing around for when there's a job to be done." Didn't everyone want to wrestle a pumpkin and come out victorious? It was probably on a lot of people's bucket lists.
