A Jelly bean walks on a train, what a joke!
Lizzy had just walked through a brick wall. She was still struggling to grasp the concept that she had walked through a brick wall and was completely unhurt on the other side. The train loomed before her, the object that was to take her to Hogwarts.
Lizzy boarded the train, carrying her book Magical Drafts and Potions in one hand. It was the only textbook she had not read yet. She wove through the mass of people in the corridor, searching for an empty compartment. When she had made it about halfway through the whole train, she deemed there was no empty compartment. Her head swiveled from side to side until she finally ducked into a nearby compartment.
Inside the compartment there were two girls and a boy who were already sitting there. "Oh hello! Is it all right if I sit here? I haven't anywhere else to go, every other compartment is completely filled up." Lizzy said nervously. As she waited for their reply, she took in her surroundings in the small place. She noticed the red haired girl, who had a card of some sort in her hand and the dark haired girl, who had a book in her hand. The boy sitting across from them had some sort of wizard candy on his lap.
Lizzy craned her neck a bit, but could not read the title of the other girl's book. "What is that you are reading? Is it one of our textbooks for school?"

A Jelly bean walks on a train, what a joke!

Setting: Warkton, England
Windy Ridge Street
Warkton Lodge Farm
A spec of light can be seen over the horizon, it was 3am in the morning and the Wheiler family was up and loading the kids trunks and school supplies from Diagon alley into the back of the family's pickup truck muggles transportation. Uncle Oscar and Aunt Vicky were so integrated into the muggle world you wouldn't know they were magical whatsoever. Leo for the first time felt his anxiety build up, he has never left the farm he grew up on. It was awkward for him. Louella was already in the car she seemed to be excited to leave, Marta on the other hand looked as sad as I was. As the last things were placed in the back, the rest of the family jumped into the truck and hurried off towards London, England.
Setting: London, England
Kings Cross Station
Platform 9 ¾
After several hours of driving, we arrived at Kings Cross Station. The streets and sidewalks were full of people. Last time the family came out to London was for a Christmas Event. We had so much fun at the event and were saddened when we learned they weren't doing it again due to funding. However, the atmosphere was different and it could even be felt even now….”Do you have all your things Louella? Marta, did you make sure to wrap your potions kit up nice? I don't want it breaking again. The girls sighed and began explaining themselves. Auntie Vicky was very stern with them over Leo, you would think it's favoritism but it wasn’t. Leo was just a very organized person for his age; he was mature but still had a sense of humor. “Seems Aunt Vicky is scolding them again.” Leo said with a bit of a chuckle. Leo felt a giant hand land on his head and with a certain motion started rubbing. “Oh hush you little scamp….Are you nervous?” Uncle Oscar spoke playfully with Leo. Leo hesitated for a bit. Leo subconsciously walked beside his Uncle thinking of how to answer him while carrying his luggage behind him. However, before he could answer his Uncle stopped. Uncle Oscar bent down on one knee beside Leo before the girls could get to them he spoke “I won't go in with you this time, we have to be at the farm. However, I thought giving you this would make you feel better and replace the goodbyes we won't be able to give you today on your very first journey to Hogwarts. It's a letter from your dad. Told me to give it to you today and hope to see you soon. Open it when you're in your happy place.” Uncle Oscar said before standing up quickly. “Now remember what I told you about the platform. Let Marta do it first to show you then you and then Louella.” Uncle Oscar said in a stern voice in front of the girls. It made Leo laugh on how different he can be in certain situations.
Marta gave her hugs and kisses and began to run at a great speed towards the solid brick barrier between platforms nine and ten. One second she was there and the next she was gone. Leo had observed this and proceeded with the same hugs and kisses routine. Leo spoke and said “Thanks for everything and raising me like your own. I am so fortunate to have you guys as my family and I will miss you.” Leo said in a very polite voice. Aunt Vicky started tearing up and Uncle Oscar stood firm and nodding in acceptance. Leo smiled a bit, tearing up at the same time. As this happened he turned around grabbing his cart and proceeded to the wall at a great speed and in a split second Leo was gone behind the brick wall.
Platform 9 ¾
Leo saw Marta waiting on the other side of the wall, as he came to a stop he could hear and see the amazement happening around him. Louella came in shortly after he did and was in amazement as well. Leo began passing his things to the conductor when he noticed Marta fixing Louella up, Leo didn't expect Marta to act like Aunt Vicky when we left but, it seems like her older sister complex was showing because she came straight towards Leo after she was down with Louella. However, after he was done giving the last luggage of not only his but his sisters. She smiled and only brushed off a couple of pieces of hay stuck in his hair. “Take your time, I will take Louella with me. I wanted to introduce her to a couple of people. I will for you as well but, I wanted you to go explore a bit instead of having us around. If it doesn’t work out, come find us okay?” Marta said softly, Leo nodded as he watched Marta grab Louella’s hand and run into the train Louella waved at him in a panic. Leo laughed as he took a deep breath in and out before entering the train.
Hogwarts Express
As he entered the train all the other kids around his age were running up and down the aisles looking for compartments to jump into. Some were just hanging out talking. Some of the older kids were playing with their wands before the train even left the station; however, to Leo it was all amazing. At last it seemed he had finally found a compartment. A young lady was in front of him asking the same question. “Excuse me miss?” Leo said politely “Is there room for one more person? If you don't mind having me.” Leo finished his statement hoping for a reply. His chestnut eyes could only see the young ladies back. Leo was also hoping he wasn’t dressed weird as well. He wore a lot of muggle things so high-top trainers, straight leg jeans and a hoodie with panda riding a skateboard might not be cool to them.

A Jelly bean walks on a train, what a joke!
Cody looked over to the boy and the girl asking whether there was room for them to sit. "Of course, come in come in! Um, just realize that I do need to shut our compartment door." Cody said laughing. Truly, they wouldn't have much room after those two sat down. "Welcome! My name is Cody Stevenson, and I am a Part Goblin. As you can see, I'm very short. According to my measurements, or what people said when they measured me, I'm three foot ten inches. What about you all?"
The boy paused, smiling, offering a glimmer of paradise in their eyes. This was his group of friends, or well, that was a complete possibility. They could get onto the bad side, and they could fight to the death- as a figure of speech. But on a lighter note, they were all going to Hogwarts! They could enjoy the magical delights that were passing them by! Oh, he wanted to so badly order more chocolate frogs.
Cody broke off a leg of his chocolate frog and offered one to Leo. "Want one? Sure, the leg may move, but it was animated to do so- as its not alive.... at least that is what someone told me. Um- sorry its so awkward. I honestly struggle with initiating conversation." He supposed he should share his true feelings, or his flaws.
"Um, Juniper, did you know that I have a MAJOR flaw?" Cody uttered loud enough to the point where his words couldn't be heard in a neighboring compartment. "I- I- I am- um. I have anger issues. If someone insults me I tend to go nuts. Do you want to be someone to help me from going insane?" He was hoping Juniper would say yes, but even a NO would be simple and satisfactory.

Cramming her face with treats, she and Jade chatted for a while. She really was starting to like the girl, in fact, and how she liked books too. Juniper told her about some other books, and it was peaceful for a while. Well, as peaceful as it could be with Juniper around. Juniper looked up when the compartment door opened. A boy smaller then she walked in, with yellow teeth. He didn't speak, which Juniper did find... weird. However, he gave them candy. "We already have a bunch, but thanks! I guess? I'm Juniper and this is Jade. Do you talk? You just came in without even saying anything." Then the boy spoke. "oh, Hi Cody."
Wait, part goblin? He just gave himself away like that? "Er.. cool!" She said, not saying that she was one too.
She said, wiping her chocolate-covered mouth with her hand. "Why don't you sit next to Jade?" She offered, pointing to the seat. She wasn't sure if she wanted him to sit next to her, after all, he had just rudely come in. She barely knew him. He asked her something, and she coughed. She raised an eyebrow. "er... sure? But... i'm kind of uh... chaotic and stuff. I'm not really responsible..."
"We were just talking about books, and stuff. " She said. She looked around. "Isn't there are candy lady that comes around? My mam told me about her. I wonder what kind of candy she has! My mam told me that wizards have the weirdest candy!" She ranted, excited. The door opened, and Juniper turned quickly, wondering if it was the trolly. It wasn't. Instead, a girl with dark hair stood in the doorway. She asked if she could sit. Juniper nodded, glad, she had asked. "Yeah, Of course! I'm Juniper!" She introduced herself.
The girl gestured to her book, and Juniper looked down. "Oh! No, it's Magnus Chase, a muggle book. It's funny... I haven't even opened any of the school textbooks, yet! hah!" She laughed. She grabbed her bag and threw it to the floor. "Yeet!" She yelled, making room for the girl. She patted the seat. "You can sit here."
She let the girl sit, then she smiled. "So, are you guys are excited?!" She said. Then, another boy asked if he could sit. Juniper took one look at his outfit, and decided she liked this guy. "Oh, hella yeah! One last person, I think, so you're lucky! I really like your hoodie! It's soo cute!" Said the girl wearing a purple shirt with a unicorn in sunglasses, shorts, and pink doc martens.
"I'm Juniper Kelly, from Ireland." She said.

Leo smiled a bit, he was still not able to feel too comfortable yet but tried his best anyway. He sat down next to a boy named Cody and watched as he and the other young ladies devoured treats of delight. Unfortunately, his Aunt made a huge breakfast and wasn’t in the mood to eat that much junk food before arriving at Hogwarts. Leo heard the comment made to his hoodie and smiled gently “Thank you Juniper also hello Jade Cody and Lizzy my name is Leo...Leo Mata. It's a pleasure to meet you all. That's very kind of you to say I also like your outfit as well Juniper."Leo said in a polite and calm voice. He placed his hands into his pockets and began to proceed with speaking again. “Does anyone here know much about Hogwarts? My family has told me stories but hearing it from others is usually better. My family is from Warkton, England we own a muggle farm.” Leo said this eagerly hoping he wasn't stepping on the others boundaries by talking too much. But, talking about his family made him think of his Aunt and Uncle and if they were going to be okay without all of us there to help. Leo felt the envelope and locket his Uncle gave him, all Leo was doing was rubbing the locket between his thumb and forefinger in anticipation to read it and see what was inside. However, making new friends and talking wasn’t bad either.
Meanwhile…
Marta and Louella were in a heated debate with Marta's classmates on spell formulas. For some reason the two of them took it very seriously when it came to studying. Louella looked up to Marta so when Marta saw her little sister trying to be like her she started being more argumentative on certain things regarding their studies. “Marta, I hope Leo is doing okay.” Louella said as she was scribbling down another formula she was confused on. Marta took the book from her hand and passed it towards one of her classmates. “He will be fine, don't you think we smothered him too much or are you getting jealous that some other girl will take him away.” Marta said with a snicker in her voice. Louella went red instantly and began to grumble under her voice before writing a few more formulas down. Marta looked a bit smug however, she did have the same feelings and wondered if he was okay. Maybe in her heart she was a bit jealous too that someone would take him away, even his father one day.

Lizzy smiled and sat down next to Juniper. "Thanks." She took her seat and listened as Juniper told her what book she was reading. "Oh! I have read Magnus Chase! I read it back home before coming to Hogwarts. I am now regretting not packing it, it is really funny. Have you read any other books by that author?" Lizzy asked. She herself had read Percy Jackson, The Heroes of Olympus, and the Kane Chronicles all by that same author. She had found them all to be quite good books.
"I'm Lizzy Solace, nice to meet you all," Lizzy introduced herself. She heard Leo ask if anyone knew what Hogwarts was like just then. "I don't know much about Hogwarts. I'm muggle-born. I had no idea that wizards and witches even existed until I got my letter. I'm from London by the way. I lived in a little house in the forest, it was quite lovely," Lizzy replied.
A thought struck her, something she had heard from another student on the train. "I heard from another student that the castle was haunted. He was probably just trying to scare me though, I doubt it's really haunted," she said. What if it was though? Just on the train ride so far she had seen so many things she would have otherwise considered impossible. She could tell Hogwarts would be very different from what she knew.
"Really though, does anyone know anything about Hogwarts? I'm quite nervous, I don't think it will be anything like I am used to, being muggle-born and all." Lizzy wondered if anyone here actually did know anything about the mysterious school. She had seen one of her school textbooks was called Hogwarts, A History, but she hadn't opened it. She had been too caught up in the whole "you're a witch" thing to pay much attention to anything else.

"Rumors speckled through my family, mainly because my dad was a part goblin and his mom was a goblin. Um, yes, I have heard a little about Hogwarts, but that wasn't something they talked about." FINE! The boy was someone who was open about his goblinoid ancestry. He eyed Juniper a little too suspiciously. Mhm was all the noise he made. The noise was implying that Cody knew how Juniper was one too.
"Hello Jade, Juniper, and Leo!" That was simple. That was all he could've said, but he was more interested in wand lore and all. He incited, "So... I'm a little more intersted in knowing what your wands are. If you all can remember what uhhhh the old guy told you. My wand is of dogwood and has troll whiskers as a core. Supposedly I am supposed to be efficent in Transfiguration. Whatever that is." He paused, gave a mischevious grin for no absolute reason, and looked at Juniper. His eyes squinting, then his face brightened. "My oh my! How come you're so short? Is it possibly because you're-" Cody attempted to lure Juniper into revealing her true self. It was nothing to be embarrassed about of course.

Juniper shook her head. "No! I don't know, like ANYTHING! Why is named Hogwarts, anyway? Like, what? EW" She giggled, scrunching up her nose. "Oh! You like Magnus Chase too! COOOOL! Oh, I've read trials of Apollo!" She said, clapping her hands. "My mam is from this world! But I still never knew about this stuff till I got the letter!"
She turned to Leo. Cool! I grew up on a farm in Ireland!" She said. Cody, however, knew much. Apparently, he had goblin in his blood-line just like Juniper did. "That's cool." She said, trying to change the subject. The subject of goblins was making her nervous. Cody made an "mhm" and Juniper. She smiled nervously back. "Spongebob!" She blurted. "I, I- uh."
She had blurted out an answer to Cody's suspicious look, now she had to flow with it. Anything to change the subject. "I love spongebob! It's like my favorite show. Yeah." She nodded. Totally saved. So smooth.
Cody talked about wands, and Juni let out a sigh of relief. The topic of goblins was now in the past. "That's pretty cool. The old guy gave me one too, I don't remember the ... the... uh the ingredients or whatever." She scratched her head.
Then Cody turned on Juni. Juniper's eyes widened. Her thoughts raced. Everyone was staring at her, weren't they? "I- I am short! Why do you CARE?!" She said. Was it hot in here?

A Jelly bean walks on a train, what a joke!
So Cody and Juniper didn't know that much about Hogwarts either. Well, Lizzy supposed she would just have to wait until she arrived before knowing more. Cody said he was part goblin, that was interesting. Lizzy hadn't thought of anyone other than humans going to Hogwarts. She guessed that fit though. Why would it be strange for someone other than human to attend a school that taught magic?
"I haven't read The Trials of Apollo. I wonder if they would have that in the Hogwarts library? And I agree, that's a really weird name for a school to have. Hogwarts." Really though, why would anyone name a school, even a magical school Hogwarts?
Then Cody asked about their wands. Lizzy remembered a bit of what Mr. Ollivander had told her about her wand. He had said something about it being rare, or at least possessed by witches and wizards who were powerful. Lizzy didn't know what that was supposed to mean at all. "Mr. Ollivander told me mine was chestnut wood and snallygaster heartstring." Lizzy made the point of using the man's name, instead of the old guy, like what Cody had said. "He said that specific wood usually chose witches ans wizards who are skilled with magical creatures, possess gifts in Herbology, and are natural fliers. I dunno what that's supposed to mean though. Are you interested in wandlore?"
Why was Cody acting like that towards Juniper? It was almost like he knew something about her that she wanted to be kept secret. It was odd, but it was none of Lizzy's business anyhow. She was a little bit interested though. She wondered what it was that Cody was trying to make Juniper say. Lizzy didn't want to seem rude by asking outright though, so she left it alone. She could not help but stare at Juniper when she nearly screamed at Cody. What was it about her height that was so odd?
Juniper literally posted a second before I did, so I had to do some rewriting!

A Jelly bean walks on a train, what a joke!

Leo chuckled a bit to himself, they were all in the same boat as he was. Some knew of magic and some didn’t. Plus going to a school for magic did seem a bit out of place. However, if he didn’t notice this world first hand from his Aunt and Uncle he would probably be feeling exactly like them. Leo heard Juniper speak about the name of the school, it actually didn’t bother him with all this magic a normal name for a school would kind of be boring. That was when the question came up about wands.
Leo spoke trying to fill the void of awkward silence as they all tried answering the boy named Cody's question, “Spruce Wood with Phoenix Feather Core 26.6cm, I accidentally made a small tornado in the old man's shop. My Aunt Vicky had to put it out, I was really embarrassed that day.” Leo said this chuckling to lighten the mood in the compartment. For some reason as Leo finished he could feel the tension rise between the things Cody was saying, you could tell that Juniper was getting a little flustered. ~Is this how normal kids acted?~ Leo thought to himself only knowing his sister's company for many years. Leo now was placed into a situation he wasn’t fully able to grasp so the only thing he could think of was…
“Um, if you guys don’t mind, can I show you something?” Leo said with a calm voice. He took his hands out of his pocket and with his right hand went on his left side and pulled out his wand. The wand was heavy for being so small, it was dark brown and had multiple spiral etchings on it which made it to him look unique. To Leo it was beautiful to look at but, that's not what he pulled it out for. Leo didn’t know any spells since this was all new to him, on top of that he wasn’t allowed to do any magic until students and himself were inside the zone to do so. Leo realized this when he saw a couple of older students do magic passing by the compartment window. Leo held his wand out and spoke softly under his breath. After a few seconds the tip of his wand began to light up brightly covering the whole compartment and it changed to various different colors. Leo smiled a bit as the colors began to change. Hoping this would change the mood and the rest of the ride to Hogwarts. “Sorry everyone, this is all I can do for now.” Leo said, scratching his head with his left hand. Leo then slightly turned towards Juniper hoping for her to catch what he did, all he did was smile.
