" Oh. Same here. I think my dad's European. My mother's Japanese, she's a Suzuki." He watched the figures flit across the sky. His father was probably European- which explained the lighter hair color and Suzuki's eye color. Asians didn't have blue or grey eyes. Plus- he didn't look that Asian. Suzuki looked nothing like his mother. Apart from inheriting her height, he didn't seem to get anything else from Emi Suzuki. They were pretty much opposites in the personality department.
Mei handed him his hoodie back, and he tucked it under his arm.
"Your eyes are a really really pretty color," she blurted suddenly. He turned towards her. He'd never really noticed that.
" Oh... Thanks. Yours aren't bad, either." It was true- her eyes were the light type of blue. Sky blue- it contrasted against her hair color, similar to him. Dark haired people normally had dark colored eyes. He guessed that was how half European half Asians worked.
Suzuki never wanted to be like his dad- he had always hoped to be like his mother, so maybe she'd like him more. Of course, he couldn't really change his appearance, but the personality factor was impossible too. You can change your personality a little, but you can never reverse it.
" You're pretty pretty." He told her.

" Oh... Thanks. Yours aren't bad, either." Mei realized she had said her statement about his eyes out loud. "Oh thank you. I did not realize I said that out loud but you're welcome." Mei smiled at him.
Mei honestly liked her eye color but had always wished she had a different eye color. Like hazel. Or a pale green. Or maybe even amber. She had always found people with amber eyes quite intriguing. She often dreamed about what it would be like. But she knew it would never be a reality. Mei fidgeted with her necklace again.
" You're pretty pretty." Suzuki told her. Mei blushed slightly. "Thank you. You're quite good looking yourself." Mei looked looked down her hair hiding her pinkish red face. She did not know why she was like this. Something about her talking to Suzuki made her stomach flutter. She tried to put it out of her head but it just did not work. Suzuki's words continued to repeat in her head making her face turn a darker shade of pink. What was this feeling? Would she ever know?

Mei turned a deep shade of scarlet once he made his remark about her physical appearance. She proceeded to turn even redder (or was it pinker?). Suzuki turned away, and watched the players in the sky. From his vantage, he could glimpse the Great Lake, but with his eyesight, it just looked like a splatter of blue in the middle of dark green landscape.
The sun had already started to set a little, and cast a red light on everything. A chilly wind swept past them. Suzuki tucked his hands under his knees.
"How's your second year going for you? I found it more stressful." He said, watching some of the Quidditch kids leave for the castle. Suzuki didn't move. He was fine just sitting here- he found he liked talking to this girl. He had never really interacted with Ravenclaws- now he was finding that they weren't bad. Better than Slytherins, for sure, though you had to be kind of careful around them. The ones he knew were lofty, stuck up, and prideful. Hufflepuffs were fine. One of the only Hufflepuffs he knew, Momoji Mikoto, was incredibly timid, but was a nice person overall.

Suzuki turned away, to watch the other players still in the sky. The sun was already starting to set a little. Creating a red orange fade to objects around them. It was quite pretty. A sudden wind blew a chill over them blowing Mei's hair into her face slightly. Suzuki slid his hands under his knees to keep them warm. Mei moved her hair behind her ear.
"How's your second year going for you? I found it more stressful." He said, as he watched a few of the Quidditch kids leave to go to the castle. "I kind of like it better than my first year. The homework is a bit more complicated though. " Mei put her hand to cover her mouth stifling a yawn. She was starting to get tired but did not want to go inside just yet.
She looked around. She loved watching the sun set. She loved watching the night sky even more. Finding constellations was her favorite thing to do. "Do you prefer sunrise or sunset Suzuki?" Mei fidgeted with her shoelaces again. She looked at the scar across the back of her hand. She remembered how she did it. There was so much blood that day. She shook here head knocking the thought out of her mind.
