A Slice of Reality
"Um... there are no horrible or terrifying creatures around except maybe your concept of space. I was clearly talking about you. Who else is around?" It was a rhetorical question and her brows furrowed over his words. He was a strange bloke but not necessarily in a bad way. Based on how he was reaching inside his robe and looking around, it was her guess that he was paranoid if nothing else. She found herself wondering why for a split second but tossed her curiosity to the side, it wasn't any of her business after all.
"Anyways, I was just enjoying the view. It's not bloody cold today and the water is calming. Even the great squid is out and about today so why shouldn't I?" She shrugged and sat down in her previous dey spot, picking a few pieces of dirt and bark off that remained on her clothes.
"What are you doing out here? Most first years are doing their homework right about now." Truthfully that should have applied to her but she had breezed through her homework as if she were the one who had written it. Reading all of those books her mother left behind when she died had paid off far more than Quinn ever thought it would.

A Slice of Reality
His concept of space could be a monster? Was that what she was worried about? How would one kill a rogue concept of space? And how did a concept turn into a horrible and terrifying creature? There were a few explanations, one of them being that a spell had caused this specific phenomena. The other being that his concept of space had always been a horrible creature and the last was that is was some sort of effect caused by a different horrible creature. None of them sounded all too comforting.
"Where is my concept now? I can't see it."
And as quickly as she had dropped the bomb about his concept of space becoming a horrible creature she shifted to small talk. Telling him about how it wasn't that cold and how there was a nice view and completely ignoring the creature made up of an concept that had just scared her. Who did that?
Unless she was trying to avoid being caught, unless there was someone else listening in. Kaegen decided to play along, going with the questionable flow as he answered her other question.
"I decided to not do homework. I was bored."
Why would you do something you didn't want to, anyway? So many people forced themselves to do things that they had not sworn to do, had not been bound to do. It just didn't make any sense to him. He would finish his homework when he wanted to, and not before.
