Creativity. Yes, that was another trait ascribed to Ravenclaw. Liana had forgotten about that one. Probably because nobody in her family valued it that much, and so she didn't, either. The most efficient and rational solution was always the best, right? If she'd voiced this opinion, Samantha might have agreed, seeing as she admitted to lacking creativity. Enrico, though, appeared invigorated by the additional trait the upperclassman supplied. He likely saw himself as the creative type. And he probably was, too, considering how odd he seemed. Rowena's house did contain a disproportionate amount of eccentric pupils, at least so she'd heard.

''Well, I value knowledge and enjoy learning, so I might be in Ravenclaw, too,'' she answered the other girl's question thoughtfully. ''Although I'm also not very creative, and, well, most of my family has been in Slytherin. I do have a goal of being a great duellist one day, and I know that being in Slytherin helps one to remain ambitious and determined. So that might also be a good house to be in.'' Not to mention that Father would probably be proud of her if she continued the Kerr tradition. Liana abstained from mentioning that, however. It wouldn't make her seem as independent if she confessed about wanting to comply with someone else's wishes. ''Well, it seems like there's a chance that we'll all be housemates soon!''

As their conversation progressed, the train slowly started rolling out of the station. She glanced out the window, seeing the walls seeming to move faster and faster. Of course, it wasn't the walls that were moving, it was the train. In some hours, it would bring them to Hogsmeade, and from there it would only be a short trip to Hogwarts. She couldn't wait to experience it first-hand, and to finally find out which house she belonged in.

Sam's philosophy regarding the ease of studies sounded absolutely correct to Liana. Yes, all one needed was to focus, pay attention, and be responsible. Mnemonics helped, too. ''Charms is a great subject with so many basic spells that are needed in the daily life! I hope I'll be good at it. My own interest is Defense Against the Dark Arts. I actually had a tutor who taught me some things, although of course I couldn't practice any spells. I do know some wand movements and incantations already, and I'm waiting to put them to use at school.'' A part of her brain was nagging at her how unfair it was that she got a pre-Hogwarts education while Muggleborn children only found out about the existence of magic this summer. She couldn't do anything about that, though. Not everything in this world could be fair.

''Oh! So you get good grades in the Muggle school?'' she inquired of Enrico, remembering that he bragged about being top of his class. Perhaps he could even be her academic rival. That would serve as a great motivation to push herself further into the studies. That is, if a Muggleborn could really compete with someone who grew up in the wizarding world.

''You- um- you drink this dish soap and milk mixture? Isn't it dangerous?'' Surely Muggles didn't have edible dish soap, if even the wizardkind hadn't managed to invent one. She glanced at Samantha to gauge her reaction and confirm this sounded just as weird to the other girl, too. ''Well... anyway. Potions. There are so many. They can be used to increase or decrease a being's size or strength, put a person to sleep, make them breathe fire or be unable to lie, make someone feel infatuated, attract luck, modify mood... some can just kill a person. I'm almost sure there isn't one that includes dish soap as an ingredient, though.'' She was sure she missed so many significant potions, though. ''How do you feel about the Potions classes, Sam? And do people often fail at brewing?''

Amenadiel closely watched the worm and the boy who held it. At first he hadn't liked the boy, but now that they boy was holding his food the brown owl loved him. Once the owl was eating his food, he didn't pay any attention to the boy anymore, the worm deserved all his attention.

After Amenadiel had finished his food, Samantha gently place her pet back in his cage. Her opinion about Enrico had changed. He was so happy that he got to feed the little owl that she couldn't dislike him anymore.

Two new additions to Ravenclaw, that was amazing! "It would be amazing if you guys will join my house!" Her smile grew when Liana talked about her goal of becoming a great duellist. "Slytherin is also a good house, not as good as Ravenclaw though. Last year Slytherin won and Ravenclaw got second with duelling, so both houses are very good at dueling. Even though we got second last year I am sure this year will be better!" Sam bombarded the first years with information about dueling. She couldn't help it she was really excited. She would join the dueling club this year and hoped to help her house to victory.

It was only when the train had almost left platform 9 3/4 that Samantha realized that they were moving. With a shocked look on her face, she moved closer to the window, trying to catch a last glimpse of her family. Just a second before they disappeared the young girl saw her family and waved at them. She had no idea if they had seen her, but she hoped they had.

Defense against the dark arts was also an amazing subject, well Samantha thought every subject was great, so it didn't really mean anything. "You had a tutor? That's amazing!" Samantha was a little bit jealous, not that she would admit that. She would have loved it if she had a tutor before her first year at Hogwarts.

Liana had said exactly what she had wanted to say about Enrico drinking dish soap and milk. "Anything is dangerous if you drink or eat to much of it, even chocolate can kill you if you eat to much." Samantha looked at Enrico, "You are still alive, so that means milk and dish soap doesn't kill, but I wouldn't recommend continuing this behavior in potion class. Drinking random potions can kill you, so only drink something when the professor says you can. And also don't just taste the ingredients, because you want to know how they taste. I am not saying you will do that, but some other students wanted to do it, luckily I stopped them."

Samantha would never get tired of talking and hearing her own voice, so when Liana asked her a question she happily answered. "I like potions class, potions can be of great use and it is a great feeling if you succeed in making the potion. I won't say people fail often, it is just that the potion isn't precisely how it should be. They probably just added a little bit to much of an ingredient or not enough, or maybe they didn't let it cook to long, and the potion isn't good enough. But in the beginning of the year it is quite easy, and later in the year it will get harder, but if you pay attention it should be fine."

Sorry for the late reply! I have exams and I had to prepare for them, so I had less time to spend writing

The conversation moved along and so began the train. It was what Enrico had been waiting for the most, except for actually arriving at the castle safe and sound. He hadn't ever been on a train before, more so a train that was hidden away from the eyes of many so-called muggles. It was special and the fact that it was limited to a certain group of people, which now Enrico formed a part of, filled him with a sheer level of satisfaction that filled him with nerve-wracking excitement and an unlimited amount of imagination.

As soon as the train did indeed start to choo its way to the outside, and soon the sun rays beamed through the windows, Enrico let out an odd squeak and pushed himself against the glass-paned window, his tongue sticking out against it in what would be described by the public eye as disgusting; his eyes wide open making certain he doesn't miss one flash of a second of the scenery outside. For a few seconds, he zoned out of the conversation, but as soon as he remembered that there were a couple of new acquaintances watching him, he tried to act as normal as possible - and it never got normal with Enrico, regardless of how hard he tried.

He let out an awkward cough, looked at the saliva he had left on the window, which he personally thought of as a masterpiece of art, and then had the audacity to proceed and try to wipe it off using the sleeve of his shirt, taking a sniff off of it after he was finished.

"So you knew you were a witch before coming to Hogwarts?!" Enrico returned to the conversation, as if he hadn't done what he had just did, once he heard the red-head mention her experience with magic. Seeing as Rico was absolutely clueless about how anything in the wizarding world worked, he didn't even think of the possibility of witches and wizards who actually had magical parents.
"Does that make your ma and pa wizards as well?!" He asked in a rather surprised tone, confused by numerous questions he had suddenly raised on his own. "Then how come I'm a wizard if neither one of my parents are?" Enrico couldn't help but wonder if his parents were hiding a secret away from him. Lucky them that he was going to spend some time away from home if so, he was ready to blast off in anger the next time he saw his mother again, and he'd insist on demanding answers!

Coming into this, Enrico thought that everyone around him would be capable of relating with him. Fellow children from around the world who had always aspired to pursue magical prowess until they finally manifested it to become reality. He had assumed that all the time his mother had encouraged him to read books was for this exact moment; that if he did indeed read, he'd get to live the lives within the many stories he had bothered to actually read. It really seemed like it was all building up to this, but to learn that there were, what sounded like, wizarding families turned the tables upside down.

Then there was the conversation of weird-titled subjects that almost made no sense? Charms? What was that all about? How to be charming? Enrico was sure to get the best of grades in that subject. Yet, everything sounded rightfully magical and that gave the boy some sense of hope that this school was not going to be as boring as the one he dreaded so much. He was willing to learn how to sit patiently if it meant that he'd get to be taught how to use magic while in a classroom. So it must come to no one's surprise to admit that Enrico was lying when it came down to how good he was at being a student, but a little bit of delusion could never hurt anybody.
"Who, me? At muggle school? Of course! I guess now it all makes sense to why seeing as I'm a wizard and everything." His voice made him sound as if he was super confident about what he was saying, and the worst part was that he did believe in what he was saying. Naturally, he was getting ahead of himself, but that was all fine as long as he played it super cool.

"I don't think it's that dangerous," confessed Enrico, "I mean, if it was, I probably would have ended up at a hospital or something. But puking was all that it had me doing - I guess that's a natural effect of a failed potion." He finished off with his usual cackle, soon turning into awe at how amazing the many effects of potions sounded. Even when the possibility of death was mentioned, he let out a cry of joy - but not because he was into that. With both of the girls addressing the situation, Enrico couldn't help but get all hyped up about it.

"Well, I can't make any promises," he told the second-year in a rather mischievous tone, ""but you both sound like you understand the process of potions, so if I'm ever in doubt I know who I'll come to!"

At the mention of duelling, the redhead perked up immediately. Slytherin had won last year? That was fantastic news! Perhaps Liana could find a mentor there, if she was worthy enough to be sorted into the serpent's nest. Of course, cheering about the victory of the house she only maybe would get sorted to was inappropriate, especially to a person who seemed mildly upset due to their own house losing. ''Are you a duellist?'' was what she allowed to come out of her mouth. ''I'm hoping to become one too, I'll be signing up for my house's duelling team first thing. They do allow first-years to join, right?''

Enrico's behviour made Liana's eyes go wide. The girl stared at the boy as he licked the window, wondering if this was something normal to Muggles or a yet another of his oddities. She glanced at Samantha questioningly, seeking to determine just how acceptable this was. In the end, she decided not to mention this etiquette lapse. Instead, she pretended not to see him sniffing shirt as she answered the question. ''Yes my father is a wizard and mother is a witch. And if you're magical, that means at least one of your ancestors was, too. Magical children coming from the Muggle world are usually descended from a squib. I mean, a wizard or a witch who was born non-magical, and moved to live to the Muggle world. It usually takes plenty of generations for magic to resurface somewhere down the family line.'' This little introduction was recited smoothly and confidently, and no wonder - Liana had been receiving sporadic lessons on magical genealogy for years now. She did have to censor herself and hold back from mentioning certain things, such as the Muggleborns being weaker at magic due to descending from someone with feeble arcane abilities.

She paused then, suddenly curious. ''It must have come as a huge surprise to your parents, finding out that magic exists and that you're a wizards. How did they take it? Did they have doubts about letting you go to Hogwarts rather than continue your Muggle education?'' They must have been unwilling to pull him out of the mundane school, especially if Enrico was really as high-achieving as he claimed he was. Which, now that she thought of it, seemed slightly doubtful, given his behaviour.

Dueling was a nice topic and Samantha loved talking about it. She wasn't on her house's team yet, but she had watched every duel of them and hoped that she would be able to join the team this year. "I am not a duellist yet, however, I am planning on joining the dueling. That is if they need new people, of course." Liana also seemed to be excited to join the dueling team. "Yes, they do! You do need to know some spells otherwise you can't do anything." Samantha had already seen Liana use magic to make her suitcase float, which was very impressive for somebody who hadn't even set foot on the grounds of Hogwarts.

Instead of waving, like a normal person, Enrico had decided to lick the window. Samantha answered Liana's questioning glance with a shocked look, this was not normal. When something was on Samantha's mind she would say it, she was not one to keep her thoughts to herself. "Enrico, you are a little weird, did you know that?" She didn't say it to hurt the boy, it was just what she thought. She was always happy to share her opinion, even if nobody asked for it.

Samantha would have been able to answer Enrico's questions and would have enjoyed sharing her knowledge too, but Liana was just too fast for her. She found it very annoying. After all, she was the oldest of the three and knew the most, or so she liked to believe. She wanted to be the one who answered the questions of the weird boy, not Liana. "My parents are muggles too, my whole family is. The magical world is a lot different from the muggle world. It can be quite hard to stay in contact with your muggle family, but I am sure you will manage." she said to Enrico.

Samantha hated that she had to lie to her family because they weren't allowed to know anything about magic. Her parents and older sister did know about it but to the rest of her muggle family she had to lie. She wasn't even allowed to tell her best friends, well her former best friends, about the fact she was a witch.

The thought about her muggle friends made her a little sad. Over the summer, after going a whole year without seeing each other, they had fought. She turned away from the two first years and focused on her owl because she didn't want the others to see her sad. She opened the cage again and let the brown owl sit on her hand. She gently stroked Amenadiel, as she listened to the conversation the other two students continued.

After she had given the little owl the attention he deserved and she wasn't thinking about the fight during summer break, she placed Amenadiel back in his cage. She needed to be happy, there was no reason to be sad. She was going back to Hogwarts, back to magic, back to her friends. Samantha was used to seeing her best friend, Vivian, almost every day but the last month she hadn't seen her at all. Today she would see her again, so there was no reason to be sad, only to be happy.

Her smile returned to her face and she joined the conversation again. "Any of you would like a chocolate frog?" she asked as she opened the bag, which lay next to her on the seats. Samantha realized that Enrico might not know what chocolate frogs were, as he was pretty clueless about the magical world. She was scared that if Enrico would ask what it was, Liana would answer before her, which was something she didn't want. "Chocolate frogs are no real frogs, though they do move like them. I promise you they are safe to eat." she said while looking at the boy. After she had finished her explanation, she quickly glared at Liana. Samantha was rather proud of herself that she had explained it to Enrico before Liana could, and couldn't help to give the other girl a triumphant smile. She grabbed three chocolate frogs out of her bag and held them so the other could take one box if they wanted to.
