James waited for Kitty to answer, before he responded to Quinn's question.
"I'm hoping for Hufflepuff! All the way! From what I've been told, it sounds like the perfect house for me!!!" he said, suddenly getting even more excited, now that he got to rant more about the house he wanted to be in.
"Oh, look!"
James turned to Kitty, who had her face turned towards the window. She was pointing outside at something.
"James, Quinn, what are those things?"
James leaned over to get a look, and he saw blurry shapes of what must have been some sort of flock or herd of animals rushing by. Well, they weren't rushing by, but rather the train was.
"Umm..." James mused as he squinted at them. "I think that they're cows, Kitty." Instantly, James internally winced at how degrading his voice sounded. "I mean, um... they might be something else! Who knows???" he added, mad at himself for sounding so doubtful. Maybe they weren't cows, and maybe he was really passing by a group of magical creatures, but too soon, whatever field they had been looking at passed away. James fell silent again, somewhat upset with himself. Oh well, he thought, sighing.

Quinn had just barely managed to glance outside the window at the yellow-green field and she managed to catch merely a glimpse of the creatures before the train slid past, chugging along as if they had never existed. "They were probably cows. Doesn't this train pass through muggle and wizarding territory? I don't know too much about it and I only read a small bit about the differences between the muggle and wizarding words." She blushed and looked down at her hands. She was only a half-blood in this world and she knew that much, yet she may as well have been muggle born for how much she knew about the wizarding world outside of her mother's books the redheaded girl found in the dusty old attic.

"Ah, sorry. I'm rambling again. I' nervous, I've never really been around witches or wizards or magic." The young redhead admitted, fidgeting with her hands in her lap. Was it okat that she had admitted that? Would they think weird of her or dislike her since she had not lived in this world all her life? Quinn couldn' be certain but she felt a rise of anxiety in the pit of her stomach and it felt as if her chest was squeezing her lungs and making breathing and impossible feat.

Xailah couldn't recall ever seeing a living cow before- of course she had read about them in books that her parents would bring back from the muggle world. One book in particular came to mind- What was it again?-Oh, thats right, Click Clack Moo? Xailah liked that book when she was younger. "I think I would like a cow, maybe I can ask my parents to bring me one next time they go to visit the Muggle world." Did all muggle children own cows? She pushed the thought aside, when Quinn made a statement about not knowing much about the Wizarding world; this made Xailah feel a bit out of place especially since she knew very little about the Muggle World.

Quinn looked like she was starting to get uncomfortable. Xailah shot James a worried look, she was afraid to ask if the girl was okay- she didn't want to scare her away, partly because they had just met. So instead she took out a small velvet drawstring bag. She dumped out some of the bags contents- marbles, a few jacks, trinkets and lost things- She quite liked lost things, like pocket watches and small articles of jewelry. Some chocolates rolled out of the bag as well; thats what she was looking for. "Would you like some?" Xailah said as she held out a few chocolates to James and Quinn. She hoped that they weren't allergic or something- Xailah wasn't familiar with the concept of allergies because she had none, but she did hear about them every so often. "Tell me about muggle life."-Did that come off as demanding? If it did, Xailah didn't notice.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

James let himself relax as he laughed at Xailah's comment.
"Most Muggles don't keep cows as pets. Some do, but no worries." he told her. "I'm not laughing at you, or trying to make fun of you, just in case you thought that." James cleared up, just in case she thought he was making fun of her.
"And don't worry Quinn, I'm half-blood, and was raised comepletely unaware of the existence of magic, so we're probably both on the same page here."
James had caught the worried look Xailah had shared with him, and James reassuring Quinn was in response to the silent look.
Xailah opened a bag and dumped out some seemingly random and strange contents, which made James even more interested in her person. She picked up some chocolates and held them out.
"Would you like some?" she asked.
James nodded. "Sure!" he took one of the chocolates and looked at it for a moment. "Is it a specific kind of chocolate or just normal chocolate?" he asked, putting it in his mouth anyway.
Whether or not she had heard him, which it didn't really matter, Xailah suddenly asked about Muggle life.
James made up for the lack of an answer by saying, "Mmm... this is really good!" He made sure to put a hand over his mouth while he spoke, because the chocolate was still there, and he ahd at lwast some manners. He swallowed the tasty morsel, then glanced over at Quinn to see if she was going to answer.
"Well, so far, I'm not missing it much." James replied honestly. "I mean, I love my family and my friends there, so I guess I do miss them, but what I meant was I'd rather be in a magical world rather than a normal world..."

Compartment #15  Open
Una stepped onto the famous, glamorous Hogwarts Express, the Hogwarts staff who had driven her to the station behind her, waving. She took a deep breath in and continued on. The luggage that belonged to Una had been taken by the member of staff and had been stored somewhere on the steam train. The interior of the express greatly reminded the golden haired German girl of the Orient Express; her whole family had gone on an entertaining voyage on the infamous Orient Express for her 9th birthday about two years ago. They had flown to England and had been driven to the station, boarded the express and had a lot of gratification. Most of the carpet was a deep ruby that had specks of gold glittering in the mostly dim overhead lamps, the carpet that lead into the compartments transfigured satisfyingly into an ardent midnight sky navy. Passing by each gold-brimmed-doored compartments, Una admired the chattering or sleeping or smiling new first years. Every compartment seemed pretty much full and stuffy, until she reached Compartment 15. All fourteen compartments Una had strutted past seemed completely full, not fifteen - only about three people were in there. Una raised her hand and delicately knocked on the spotless glass with her knuckle, admiring her garnet-painted fingernails. The shirt she was wearing was quite chic, and decided to wear a stylish jacket to cover up her arms (oops and bra strap). The jeans she was wearing really quite complemented her figure by being slim and skinny. Her shoes were her favourite 'lucky' shoes. By now, her two-beat knock had probably been acknowledged, so she pulled open the door. Many years had passed since she had spoken English, well, a few moments actually, but it wasn't full sentences. "Please may I sit?" she asked, a trembling voice and a light accent braced.

Anastasia stumbled curiously around the train looking for a compartment that didn't have that many people in them. Most of them were already full and people were deep in conversation or laughing with each other. Anastasia didn't know many people in the train and she was very lonely. She had a duffel bad swung on her shoulder and she walked around people trying not to bring any attention to herself. She walked passed one compartment and peered through the window trying to see if there would be any room for her in there.

She tucked her hair behind her hair and tidied up her robes that were a little bit scrunched around the waist and collar. She pulled it into place and heaved open the door with a little bit of struggle. She straightened her bag and stepped through to door way.

She looked curiously at the few people that were already seated in the compartment. "Good morning!" she said greeting everyone politely. "I was wondering if you don't mind, would I possibly able to join you? Considering all of the other compartments are full." she smiled, rocking back and forward on her heels, she waited in silence for a response.
