Aldor felt his face go red again, he didn't think making costumes was that amazing, but of course, he never thought anything he did was interesting.
''Sure, you can really make costumes out of anything. I have lots of free time so, you can call me whenever and see if we can come up with something.''
He seemed really happy about the idea, he was way more calm than before, it was strange, Aldor didn't seem aware of the effect his presence had on others, or maybe he just ignored it.
Aldor nodded as she mentioned talking about the book, he gave her a cheerful smile, it was an honest smile, he was finally letting go off his fear. Books were wonderful to him, he would never say no to books, it was definetely his weakness, apart of candy, of course, but who didn't love candy anyway?
He was about to answer her first question about his 'siblings' but before he could, Haley started asking a few more things, he stayed with his mouth open, mostly in confusion, but he also forgot what he was about to say before he lost track of his thoughts again.
''I-It is alright, don't worry about that-'' He paused, getting a few more seconds to think of a proper answer. ''They are only one year over me- Griffyndor and Slytherin. We only watch the games, they are actually duelists. And uh, yes, just tell me whenever there is a game and I will be there.''
He smiled again, taking a few strands of his hair and fidgetting with them, as he thought about what he just said he didn't need to clarify that his siblings were actually just friends, did he? He didn't need to talk about the fact that he barely spoke to his actual siblings, he could avoid that, right?
''I-I just wanted to mention that what I meant by siblings was uh- My two best friends, my actual siblings are uh- not wizards.''

Haley was very pleased that Aldor made her the offer and she made a mental note that she really needed to make a plan of what costume she would like to make. As there was still more than enough time until next Halloween, she was in no hurry, yet this item was now on her little to-do list.
The situation and atmosphere relaxed more and more and so did Haley. She was loosening up, becoming more like herself, laughing a lot and not feeling so uncomfortable. It was as if the ice around them was slowly melting. They shared common interests and Haley hoped they could sit here together more often and also be friends , even though she still couldn't really guess how Aldor feels, but it seemed, that he wouldn't be averse to it.
"AH okay, I see." Haley laughed uncertainly. It would never have occurred to her that he didn't mean his real siblings. "Well, friends are the family to choose, aren't they?" she justified his choice of words. She didn't think it was strange, Cosmo was like a sister to Haley too but it could just lead to confusion if you didn't know they were actually just best friends.
"So, if your siblings aren't wizards, are you a Muggle-born?" Haley asked cautiously, hoping she wasn't crossing a line. "I don't want to be too nosy," she began, knowing that she was but just that, "But can I ask how your family and siblings deal with it?" Haley hoped strongly that she hadn't been wrong to ask the question. But she was too curious not to. If she had a sister or brother who was a wizard but Haley herself was not, she would be more than sad and jealous.

Aldor nodded at Haley's comment, still smilling the same way he had been smilling this whole time, poor Aldor didn't know this was about to change dramatically.
Muggle-born, he was one, was it a bad thing? He wasn't sure of that just yet, he hoped that Haley didn't care about his blood status, he would probably feel terrible if his new friend suddenly hated him because of who he truly was. His smile faded for a little bit, but he did his best to pretend like he wasn't affected by her question.
''Y-Yes, I am a Muggle-born-''
Before he could even think of a way to avoid the topic Haley asked her next question, somehow, he already expected for this to happen, but he didn't think it was going to be this soon,
He couldn't lie at this point, right? He couldn't just lie after he said so many things that were real, he'd feel terrible, but could that feeling be worst than having to force himself to bring back awful memories about his family? It was time to find out, he couldn't just keep Haley waiting, right?
''I don't talk to them very often-'' He placed his hands together, as he began fidgetting with his own thumbs. ''I don't live with them, I live with my aunt, she's a graduate from Ravenclaw-''
He paused, looking back at Haley for a few seconds.
''They are fine with me being a wizard, they say they are proud of me- That's good I guess.''
Aldor wasn't lying, his siblings were proud of him, unlike his mother.

The mood changed and if Haley had only thought a little more about it, she could have handled the whole thing a little more carefully. She noticed how Aldor stopped smiling, but at first she didn't understand why. Had she said something wrong? No, not necessarily wrong, but she should have been a little more sensitive or at least said straight away that she didn't care what blood status someone had.
She also stopped smiling and looked sadly at his hands. It was obvious that he was uncomfortable talking about it or the whole story itself and Haley was starting to feel bad that she was the cause of it. But she appreciated that he was so honest with her anyway. She gave him an apologetic and pitying smile. Out of reflex, she put her hand on his and squeezed once gently before quickly pulling it away, not wanting Aldor to feel any more uncomfortable.
"I'm glad to hear your siblings are so proud of you." Answered Haley honestly, not asking further about his parents. It was obvious they weren't happy about it and had even shunted their own son off to his aunt. At least that's what it sounded like to Haley.
"My mother was in Ravenclaw too." Narrated the red-haired girl further, "Maybe they even know each other." She shrugged her shoulders and decided to tell about her father. "My father is a Muggle," she hoped that info would be enough for Aldor to know that Haley didn't care if he was Muggle-born or not. And if not, she would make it clear again that she didn't care at all about blood status. "But it's great how he deals with it. He always listens to all my stories and asks about it, he's always very interested in it." Haley continued, smiling slightly dreamily.
She could only imagine that it could be quite hard for a Muggle as well. This whole world was sometimes overwhelming even for Haley as a witch. But she and her father had an incredible relationship and she was grateful for that. She also loved simple Muggle things and always took her Polaroid from her father when she travelled. Here at Hogwarts, too, she had it with her, even though she took pictures with it far too rarely.

At first, he was a little startled when she placed her hand on his own, but he didn't really mind, she seemed to understand his body language and pulled away before he could feel uneasy.
Aldor wasn't always a cold, scary monster that hated hugs and contact in general, in fact, once he was used to being with someone and knew them enough, he was actually a very loving person, and if that person was lucky enough, Aldor would usually hug them quite often. Hugs were exclusive to only one person in all of Hogwarts.
His smile came back as he listened to Haley, he was finally focused again, his brain wasn't going all out and filling up with noise and useless thoughts, he was glad that the tension didn't last for long, it would have been horrible if it kept going, but both of the students seemed to handle the situation pretty well.
''Your parents seem like a nice people, although, I am not fully sure if your mom might know my aunt, according to herself she wasn't popular, then again- She is always way too modest.''
He chuckled, looking back at Haley, he was still smilling, which was probably a relief for Haley, after all, just a few minutes ago they almost ended falling into a converstion both of them most likely wouldn't want to have, Haley seemed smart, she probably understood what Aldor meant when he only mentioned his siblings being proud of him.
''Her name is Iphiane Humbleglow, I might ask her if she knew your mom too. Oh, I don't think I mentioned my last name before did I? Well uhm, now you know, it's Humbleglow-''
He tilted his head slightly, he wasn't sure why, but he had the feeling that his aunt knew way more people than she admitted, she was outstanding in all of her classes, she loved quidditch too and according to herself she was 'kind of good at it'.

Haley smiled at his words. Her parents were indeed nice people and Haley appreciated the relationship more and more since she was at Hogwarts. She learned too much about broken families, ignorant fathers and parents who disowned their own child. Haley was really lucky with her family, with her loving parents and she knew and appreciated that more than anything. Even though she had a big fight with her mother, they had worked that out too and no matter how many more fights would come up in this family, they would never go behind each other's backs and sort out the problems together.
"Yes they really are." Haley agreed with a smile, "Ugh it seems like my mum knows everyone, so the chances aren't that slim. But maybe your aunt is one of the people my mum doesn't know." the girl laughed, shrugging her shoulders.
Haley was visibly relieved when Aldor and she were giggling together again and relaxed more. Aldor seemed like someone who had a good heart but didn't open up easily and was often uncomfortable, so Haley was all the more relieved that the two had a good encounter together.
"My mother's name is Stephanie Rose, also known as Steph Rose. I'll definitely ask her at the next opportunity if she knows an Iphiane Humbleglow. Who knows, maybe they were even friends? Imagine that, wouldn't that be hilarious?" Haley just speculated to herself, thinking about how great it would be to have two friends from Hogwarts back in touch because their descendants had now become friends at Hogwarts.
Haley noticed her stomach grumbling and not only did she notice it, it was loud. Startled, she looked at Aldor and started laughing. "I think it's time for dinner." Haley giggled further and looked towards the castle. She didn't know what time it was, but she hoped dinner wasn't too long in coming. "Shall we walk back to the castle together?" she suggested.

Aldor listened to her with all his attention, but there was something that was still roaming in the back of his mind, it was an uncomfortable feeling of worry, maybe nothing bad happened today, but being realistic, there wasn't much that he could to control what happened around him. Or at least knowing how to act to do it better than he was currently doing.
Even with this in mind, he sort of wished some things were easier to understand, of course, Aldor wasn't exactly stupid, he was a prodigy when it came to magic, spells were easy and so were potions, he was amazing at anything he did, until it involved socializing. He was mostly terrible at that.
He turned his head back to Haley, tilting it a little as she mentioned going back to the castle, she was right, it was pretty late already, the hunger was starting to kick in, or at least a bit, Aldor usually ate as little food as possible, there were many reasons for this, sometimes he was simply not hungry, other times he didn't want to eat in front of others and so on, either way, he wasn't going to reject her invitation to walk back to the castle.
''Oh- Uhm, sure, let's go.''
He smiled trying not to think about his worry too much, he wasn't going to ruin a decent day by overthinking everything again, but he was sure that if things always went this well, he most likely found a new friend. And so, he stood up, and waited for Haley so that they could walk back together, this was really nice, considering how messy his conversations usually finished, this was a great succes. A confident smile showed on his face as he looked at the castle and realized that enough effort was all that he needed to acomplish something this scale.
