"My parents are still out." Haley said and skipped down the stairs, trying not to be quiet as there was no need to be. On her way out, Haley made a quick stop in the living room and took two blankets and a couple of pillows under her arms, trying not to fall over her own feet on the way to the patio door. "Would you be so kind?" the girl murmured as she used her chin to keep one of the pillows from falling to the floor and nodded towards the door. She waited until Simon opened it and walked in quick steps into the garden to just drop everything there. She spread one of the blankets on the floor, put the pillows down and made herself comfortable on her back while sliding one of the pillows under her head. The second blanket she would leave by their heads in case either of them got cold. Or more likely, in case Haley got cold.

"I love these clear nights." Haley spoke dreamily while her eyes jumped from one sparkling dot in the sky to another. Even though she didn't know much about astronomy or stargazing, she always loved the image of the night sky. The stars, galaxies and planets that shone up there every night. There were things that didn't need a deeper background for her, she simply admired them for their beauty, no matter what was hidden behind them, what meaning, what story or myth. The starry sky was one of these things.

At some point, however, the redhead turned on her side, rested her head on her hand and looked at Simon. "I'm really glad you're here." She admitted and started to giggle. It always sounded so silly to her when she sometimes just said what she was thinking but that was just the honest thing about her.

Relaxing in the night with @Haley Rose

Clear nights were something that were denied to him back in London but he appreciated them. There was a time or two he might have snuck out of his dormitory at night just to find a place around the grounds to lay down so he could look up at the clear night sky.

Simon listened as he heard Haley shift a bit, turning towards him and then she spoke again, glad that he had come for the visit. "You were so excited about this place, I had to share in your enthusiasm," he smiled to her and truly was glad he made the visit as well. Going from seeing her every day at Hogwarts to not seeing her at all in that month of July was just odd. Such drastic lives one lead when in the wizarding world and then not.

"And this place is amazing. I'm glad it's everything you've hoped it would be. I'm glad that you love it." His townhome back in South Kensington was far less impressive - although it was decorated like something out of a print magazine because his aunt put a lot of pride into it and her design skills were nearly second to none. It still didn't have the square footage that this place did or the garden. Still, maybe despite the lack in clear skies the location was better, at least for someone like Simon. He could still catch a cab or the tube to so many places after the sun wasn't so harsh, and even if he wandered around at 2am, there was usually something he could find to do.

Simon thought about glancing over to her but hesitated in the moment because of the low lighting. She had told him previously to never hide himself from her but it was difficult when one knew they 'weren't normal.' Instead, he brought his hand up to rest on the back of her head and tilted closer to her to sort of snuggle up. That way he wasn't being distant, but it also wouldn't risk her feeling uncomfortable. He was hoping to eventually find a balance sometime - with this whole acceptance of being a dhampir.

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

She smiled quietly at Simon as he spoke, all that could be heard was his voice and the wind blowing softly through the trees now and then. This night was so relaxed and peaceful and she wished they could have nights like this at Hogwarts, but there were rules. Rules that made it impossible for them to do so, all the more reason she had to enjoy these special moments. "You'll have to show me your home sometime, too. Especially Maggie's bakery." Haley giggled, imagining how awesome it would be if she had a bakery just a few footsteps from the front door.

Haley snuggled into Simon as he gently pulled her closer to him, there it was again, the feeling of safety she always had with Simon. She was so grateful for this boy and she knew she told him far too rarely. She just hoped he knew. He would know how important he was to her, how much he had helped her and how she felt about him. She wasn't good with words, let alone had the courage to say her thoughts just like that. She put her arm around him and pulled herself into safety. She enjoyed his closeness, the peaceful night and that they could share time together outside of Hogwarts.

The night didn't stay peaceful for too long, however, when she suddenly heard stumbling and giggling. She knew immediately that it was her parents and began to grin broadly. She propped the flat of her hand on Simon's torso and straightened her upper body as she looked towards the patio door, grinning. "And that would be my parents." She giggled. The hallway light came on and Haley could make out the silhouettes of her parents.

"Shh. Don't wake the kids." Whisper-screamed Haley's mother "Shhh yourself." Chuckled her father in response, throwing his wife over his shoulder. Haley started giggling loudly as she saw the whole spectacle. The silhouette of her father carrying her mother over his shoulder disappeared at the stairs and the lights went out too. Haley hoped that someday, when she was an adult, she would have a relationship like the one her parents had. She looked dreamily into the hallway, which was now dark again.

"You want to stay here?" she released her gaze and now looked at Simon. She knew he wouldn't need any more sleep tonight and she wasn't tired either, but she wanted to leave it up to him what he wanted to do with the rest of the night, after all he was the guest.
