The time with Cosmo was indescribable. Cosmo was someone Haley had not looked for but had found. She loved her and couldn't imagine her life without her. It was crazy how the two of them could form such a close bond with each other within a year but it was just a match. It was as if they had known each other since birth. They could laugh together, cry together and had no secrets from each other and even when they had nothing to say, there was a comfortable silence between them. Haley's heart ached every time she thought about Cosmo's departure getting closer with each passing day. She would love to have her best friend move in here but that was hardly possible, was it?

It was already the penultimate day when the two of them had a little baking battle in the kitchen, much to the amusement of Haley's parents. After such an exciting day, Haley just fell into bed and fell asleep in a few minutes, letting her subconscious process what she had experienced. With Cosmo beside her she felt safe and quite automatically she snuggled into her embrace as she slept.

Gently, the young Rose was awakened by the sun's rays dancing through her room. She blinked a few times to adjust to the change in light conditions and carefully turned to look directly into Cosmo's peaceful face. Quietly, Haley smiled to herself at the sight of her better half. A quick glance at the clock told her that it would soon be time for breakfast and carefully she placed a kiss on Cosmo's nose. "Wake up sleepy head." She gently tried to wake her friend.

The morning passed far too quickly, the two of them reading, listening to music, dancing around the room and laughing a lot together as they did every day. Haley wished this time would never end, but who would she be if she had power over the space-time continuum? It felt like only five minutes had passed since they got up when Haley's father called for lunch. "Coming!" she yelled down from her room, turning and grinning playfully at Cosmo. "First one down!" she challenged and took off running. Clearly an unfair race but Cosmo knew all too well that Haley was only joking.

Haley nodded eagerly to Cosmo as she presented her idea. "Oh yeah, I haven't done that in a while." Haley spoke enthusiastically as she shoveled another bite into her mouth. Dancing all morning could make the young girl quite hungry. Haley joined her best friend and smiled at her parents with her mouth closed and her cheeks full, but knowing full well that they wouldn't mind. "Sure. But make sure you have enough blankets. I'll set you up some lights for the night." Agreed Haley's father and immediately Haley's head moved to Cosmo grinning even wider.

This would be their last night before leaving and the evening was going to be another special one. In the time that Cosmo was busy re-packing her things that were scattered all over Haley's room, Haley went to ask her parents for help. More her father, as she needed help with Muggle things and of course he took the time to help his daughter prepare a little surprise.

The rest of the day it was hard to keep Cosmo out of the garden, but there were only a few hours left and Haley wouldn't be Haley if she didn't think of something for it. At every little opportunity, she slipped away to prepare something for the evening and after her last sneak away, she came into her room grinning broadly and stopped in her doorway. Perkily she smiled broadly at Cosmo who had made herself comfortable in her bed. "Grab my Polaroid camera and follow me downstairs." She urged her friend, and couldn't wait to see the look on her face as soon as she stepped into the garden.

"After you." Haley bowed and escorted Cosmo through the patio door into the garden. The sun was just disappearing into the horizon and an incredible spectacle of colour occurred in the sky above them. Colours danced in orange, red, purple and green, adding colour to the few clouds in the sky. Ahead of them in the garden, a path was marked by small lights on the ground, leading to a cosy looking mattress in the middle of the garden. They had a pile of cosy blankets and cushions, with several bowls of snacks such as popcorn, crisps and jelly babies scattered on top. On each side were two more large carafes of homemade lemon water. A few metres away from the mattress hung a white sheet, which was attached to two long wooden sticks sticking out into the ground on the right and left. At the perfect moment, a beam of light came shooting through the garden and projected an image onto the white sheet. Haley turned and saw her father winking at her as he adjusted the beamer. She blew him a kiss and gave him a quick wave as he quietly said goodbye and walked through the door into the house.

"I hope you like it." Haley said as she hugged Cosmo from behind and pushed forward with the strength of her body until they both arrived at the mattress.

Once the two friends were comfortable, the movie would start playing. "I haven't seen the movie yet but it was recommended to me by Muggle friends." Haley explained further as 'The Fault in our stars' began to play. Haley didn't know yet how she would take the heartbreaking story of Hazel and Gus over the next 126 minutes, but no matter how much she cried, she wouldn't be embarrassed in front of Cosmo.
