Compartment #27  Closed
Lucy watched as Lucien tossed the hand sanitizer towards the compartment door, interested in what he was about to do. Was he going to turn it into some sort of creature? Blow it up? Her questions were quickly answered. She watched in appreciation as the hand sanitizer flew back to Lucien. His calm, almost cold demeanor as he cast the spell impressed her much more than the spell itself. She had seen her own father use the Accio charm numerous times. She, however, didn't know any eleven-year-olds that could perform it. Especially with that amount of skill, nonchalance, and accuracy.

"Wow," she breathed softly to herself, eyebrows hitching up. She stared at his pale face as he continued his thought. "What do you mean it is unwise to ask such a thing from your family?" she queried instantly, not stopping to ponder this idea to herself. What a silly thing to say. Did they not like repeating themselves? Obviously if he was proficient at magic he would have no trouble performing a spell numerous times. Unless... maybe his family had some sort of magical fatigue syndrome? Maybe they couldn't do a spell multiple times! "Oh..." she said aloud, wincing a little. "I'm sorry, I didn't think that wizards could have... uh... magical... disabilities. I understand if casting spells exhausts you. I won't ask you to perform any more. You did very well, despite... your... uh... disability?" her voice raised at the end, her hesitancy with phrasing this uncomfortable thought apparent as she tried to find a tactful way to describe it.

Seeing as he was already absorbing himself in a book, she leaned down, trying to take a peek at the title. There were no words written on the front or on the spine that she could see. In fact, it was a curious little book. It was smaller than most, and was very pretty. "I didn't see that one when I bought the books off our supply list," Lucy frowned, tilting her head as she stared at the book. "Did I miss it?" A cold feeling of dread clutched her stomach. "Please tell me I didn't miss it! I would hate to be unprepared!"

When the Sandy haired girl spoke of a magical disability, Lucien responded by giving her an odd look. "No...not even close. My family has a history of using dark magic. I'm not supposed to cast spells without close supervision." He said turning a page in his book. He had a small moment of glorious peaceful silence before the girl spoke again. "It wasn't on the list. It is a book of my family history, meant only for my family. Unless you are some how related to me by blood please keep that nose of yours out of my book."
Lucien said clearly aggravated. He lifted his book a little to keep her from looking into it. He hoped she would leave him alone now. He may normally be a calm and collected person but putting him over the edge could result in things he normally avoided doing, such as yelling, or being a slightest bit mean. Of course, he was never as bad as his sister. Just a bit stern, as he had grown up learning to be. "Now, do you have anymore questions or concerns? If so, do get it over with now, I dislike socializing." The Raven haired boy said flipping apage in his book.

My eyes aren't both blue. One is green. One is blue.

Lucy listened to his explanation and scratched her forehead absently. Not supposed to cast spells without close supervision? If someone supervised him doing something he shouldn't, they'd have to react to him. They wouldn't have time to stop him. She didn't know if he was intending to scare her, but she leaned away from him a bit. She had heard of people who used dark magic. They tended to ignore wizarding laws and do whatever they wanted. Though... he didn't do any dark magic just now. Maybe he's just pretending he knows more than he actually does, she thought nervously. Still, she was determined to get on his good side. Or maybe she was trying to reassure herself that he was actually a good person. Either way, she continued to chatter on.

"Well, just because your family has used a lot of dark magic doesn't mean you're going to. I mean, think about it. Some people's families have a history of being mean. That doesn't automatically make someone mean. You can control which spells you choose to cast, can't you? So really it's up to whether or not you want to be a good person or bad person." Lucy wasn't sure if good people used dark magic, but it seemed like something good people wouldn't do. She smiled optimistically at him, convinced that she had set him on the path to goodness and wholesomeness.

However, she fell silent when he said that he disliked socializing. She didn't want to annoy him, even if she was curious why he would read about his own family's history. Shouldn't he already know it? Why was he even reading it in the first place? She fidgeted uncomfortably for about thirty seconds.  Time seemed to drag as the silence stretched across the cabin. She had just opened her mouth to speak again, to ask him exactly why he was reading about his own family, when a booming voice echoed throughout the train telling the students to change into their school robes.

"Oh, we must be close! This is so exciting," Lucy crowed, jumping to her feet and stumbling a bit due to the moving train, possibly knocking into Lucien's knees on accident if he wasn't anticipating her clumsiness. "Well, I'm going to go change! Maybe I'll see you inside," she called with a wave before disappearing out the door.
Lucy exits the thread.
