Two Friends on a Perfect Day
The curious burning boy, still standing waist-deep in the lake, had not seemed to hear any shouts of concern or mockery thrown at him by the other students (including Amadea and herself), so Cecily shrugged and turned away, because what else was she supposed to do? Stand at the edge of the lake, staring at this strange boy?
"What were we talking about?" Cecily asked Amadea, thinking back to before the bey had quite rudely interrupted. Something about... "Ah, yes. You really want to see where I live? It's not very exciting. Just grass and wind," she continued, picking up where they had left off. "But if you're sure, you should come over summer break! And then after, I can join you and see everything in London!" Cecily had to remind herself to keep her voice down in her excitement as passing students passed the two. "I'm so very excited to finally see a city!" she continued, quieter but no less enthusiastic. Sure, she was nervous to step outside of her comfort zone and spend her summer vacation with someone she barely knew, but she was nevertheless bursting with excitement at the thought.
She suddenly realised that this was probably the most words she had spoken at one time since leaving her family. She hadn't even said one word on the Hogwarts Express, and conversed at all other times in short one- or two-sentence bursts. Maybe spending so much time with Amadea wouldn't be so bad after all.

Two Friends on a Perfect Day
The flaming boy was not acknowledging the presence of the two shocked girls standing only feet away from him. Then again, he was on fire, and Amadea assumed that being on fire was bound to inhibit the senses at least slightly. She turned away, not wanting to stare. Even though he had more things to worry about than her, Amadea still didn't want to be rude. He had already gone through enough, or at least Amadea assumed so, as he was on fire.
Turning around to face Cecily again, they continued their conversation as if nothing had interrupted them. Amadea had to keep herself from laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Hogwarts continued to manage to surprise her in every way possible.
"Yes! I would love to take you to London!" Amadea exclaimed to keep herself from bursting out into laughter and looking like a complete weirdo though she always looked like a weirdo so it wouldn't be anything new. Their conversation came flooding back to Amadea's memory. She was going to show Cecily all around and show her how amazing London was. She would need to make sure it was okay with her parents that she brought Cecily to London though. Filing it away on her mental list of things she needed to do, Amadea thought about what living on a moor was like. "Of course I want to come see the moors!" she exclaimed. "I bet it's not boring at all! You have all the space in the world to run and jump and scream!" Amadea closed her eyes and spun around, imagining the openness of it all. She couldn't wait until summer break!

Two Friends on a Perfect Day
Cecily laughed as Amadea let around, imagining all of the open space. The Ravenclaw was just as excited about seeing London as her friend was to see Ireland, but she kept the jumping to a minimum.
Cecily was already getting lost in her mind's eye. She had only her books to base her visions off of, but her imagination conjured grandiose images of buildings so tall they touched the sky, mansions built for just one family, palaces and busy streets and people-watching at a homely café. London would be even more exciting than whatever city her father went to-- it would be bigger, busier, wilder, and the small country girl couldn't wait to be a part of the big city.
Snapping out of her daydream, Cecily finally noticed the droves of students heading inside for classes. Turning to Amadea, she said, "Owl me when you get back home, and we can make this all happen! I can't wait to see a city!" Cecily grinned at her friend and, shouting a quick parting word to the Hufflepuff, slipped into the masses. She let them carry her into the castle and towards her next class, each step closer than the last to her epic summer adventure.

Two Friends on a Perfect Day
The events that had just transpired had completely left Amadea's mind as she imagined the open fields of the Ireland moors and the freedom she would have! Amadea would love to live where she could see the horizon at a distance and her neighbor's weren't directly below her and above her. While London did have its own perks, Amadea couldn't wait for the summer when the girls would get to show each other what it was like in the other's hometowns (or cities).
To others, it might be weird to be wishing you could go to the moors, but Amadea had spent her entire life trapped in a city. While it was often fun exploring the many stores and alleyways that London had to offer, it also got quite congested and many times, Amadea felt as though she was trapped. Hogwarts was the complete opposite of Amadea's life in London. There was so much space to spread out, and even with all of the students at Hogwarts, it felt like there was plenty of space nonetheless. The moors were probably like that as well. Amadea couldn't wait to see what it was like.
Amadea's imagination always tended to get the best of her, and she often imagined grand things that never actually happened and ended up disappointing her. Determined not to let that happen this time, she snapped herself out of her daydreams and turned to Cecily. It seemed as though the other girl was going to the same thing, and Amadea smiled. "Okay, I will owl you," she said, making it sound like a promise. This was so exciting for Amadea! She was making plans with someone to hang out during the summer! It was so exciting to finally have friends. The possibilities of things they could do and adventures they could go on were absolutely endless and Amadea couldn't wait until the summer when they could explore and show each other their homes.
"I am so excited!" Amadea exclaimed, hoping the tone of her voice would properly convey the excitement she felt. Unfortunately, it probably didn't, but Cecily could get a good idea. Streams of people were now heading back into the school for their classes and Amadea realized they should probably head back as well. Cecily seemed to have the same idea, waving goodbye before slipping away in the crowd of people.
Amadea lingered, taking one last look at the lake and the boy who seemed to have disappeared after running by them. She hoped he was alright after being on fire and all. Plus there were terrible creatures in the Great Lake. Who knew what could have happened to him while in there? She hoped he would be fine.
Turning, Amadea followed her Ravenclaw friend's footsteps, letting herself become sucked up by the crowd of people making their way to classes. Her mind was anywhere but, however. She was thinking about the moors.
