Dan had a large grin on his face as he entered the Trial of Hermes. He had just finished recovering from the Trial of Apollo. Since he was well used to riverdancing however, the recovery did not take long.

He learned from his instruction received, that this was a footrace with tricks and traps.
Dan had a Hermes smirk spreading rapidly across his face. This was as perfect for him as the Trial of Apollo. He was dressed perfectly for this. His camp shirt, shorts, and bare feet were the most ideal attire possible for a footrace. And as a Son of Hermes, he was well attuned to tricks and traps. His dad was the GOD of trickery, after all. And Thieves. And travelers. And trade. And messengers and the swiftest of the gods. He had inherited MANY of his father's talents; Dan was a master thief, extremely fast, and a MAD prank and trickster.

"Lady Persephone. Get ready for some delicious pomegranate seeds. I, Dan Palmer, Son of Hermes, will not disappoint you!"

Dan spoke with a much more subdued accent than normal. He was wanting to make sure everyone knew what he was saying during this stuff. The problem, is that he still spoke rather quickly. He would say that it was a side effect of being a son of Hermes; He subconsciously got messages across as fast as possible, and due to his speed.
(In actuality, it was because he couldn't talk slowly without sounding condescending or stupid)

So, Dan got ready, got set, and at the signal, took off running, his godly speed propelling him forward at incredible speed.

Wow, he was REALLY getting into this cosplay role...

Event Blossom Ball - Trial of Hermes
Mikael listened to the boy speak with cold eyes. Only preventing the inevitable surge for dominance from commencing. It seemed that things were to finally become interesting. A test of pure ability. The boy's blue eyes were lit up with a sense of excitement. He prepared himself for the descent into pure madness that would occur at the given signal to start the sprint. Mikael was glad he had decided to dress in a simplified manner. The boy thought about pulling off his mask to be able to see without any possible obstruction. Though, the holes of the mask provided enough visibility where it would not be a problem at the moment. In the case that it did become a problem, he could always pull his mask down around his neck. As the string should be able to hold the mask in the place as he ran. The boy narrowed his eyes as he readied himself physically and mentally to start off as quickly as possible. No other thoughts occupied his brain at the moment. It was a blank slate within his mind. As if someone had pulled a few plugs without much thought. Though, he didn't mind. It was far better than not being able to stop thinking.

Finally! A trial that Charles was looking forward to! A race! A test of agility and physical strength! Two skills that the blonde thought he was good in and love test that included the two!

It didn't include magic or spells or answering questions, just a simple race that included dodging objects. Charles was looking forward to running it and retrieving the pomegranate and earning three points for his efforts.

The blonde was glad he didn't wore a fancy suit or dress shoes that night, the jumpsuit and running trainers were perfect for this activity and he couldn't wait to get started.

Charles would lightly nudge Drew's shoulder a bit with his hand as he spoke" ready to earn 6 points for our team," the blonde would give his friend a smile before eyeing the others as he spoke" were going to win this, I know we are Drew," before going to take his spot which was when he saw his least favorite Dumstrang.

Yefim Rumyantsev. The broom racer that Charles hoped you fall off his broom or catch on fire or possibly both. The third year hated the boy ever since the last trip when at the first ball he was in a bit of a confrontation with him and in his 'bodyguards' knowing that he would be destroyed by the three but still not backing down.

Charles would eye the Dumstrang and give him a half smile before he would say to him in Russian, "break a leg Rumyantsev," before turning and walking back to his friends where he would get ready near them.

The blonde would take his stance and eye different objects on the course, he saw a barrel or at least he thought it was in his the distance as he eyed his destination and got ready to run.

For the young Dumstrang would run as fast as he could when he was allowed to the pomegranate but also keeping a eye out for anything hat came across his path.

A race! Now, mazes and spellwork and temptations were one thing, but a race... Cassie could dig a race. If anything, it would help her take her mind off her last Trial. The voices of her parents, her family, her friends, all calling to her, all begging her to accept the opportunity of the race for her future... Cassie pushed it out of her mind. Later, maybe, she would think about it. Later, maybe, she would punch a pillow, or cry, or write a letter home, or whatever, but for the moment she had no space for homesickness. She had a race to win.

Cassie was pleased to realise that she and Scarlett had an advantage in this sort of thing. "Most of the girls are wearing dresses," she muttered delightedly to her Hogwarts friend as the Trial was explained. "We'll be able to move quicker. I mean, it sucks that Charlie an' Drew're wearing jumpsuits too, but I guess you can't have everything." Cassie checked that her jacket was zipped up (which it was) and stood to attention at the starting line. As soon as the order to start was called, she broke into a sprint. Gotta get that pomegranate.

iNPC: Jayden Holt

Wrinkling her nose at the compost odor emanating from her person, Jayden emerged as a dark, dripping shadow, eliciting a few horrified screams from some jumpy passersby as she exited the course. Wampus Swampus. Slathered in inky brown muck from head to toe to her very eyelashes, leaves and twigs sticking out of her matted hair, burrs clinging to her dress, clumps of grass glued to her skin. She was a walking mud pie. In the dim lighting: the girl from The Ring's ugly sewage twin.

"Ahhh!" She echoed flatly after the shocked onlookers who threatened to split her ear drums, waving her arms in the air. "Calm down, ya ninnies! Ain't none'a y'all done mud baths before? Got my own spa treatment right here. Luxury, I'm tellin' ya! What? Come here! Free hugs!" She started, as if to give chase, laughing as a few prissy girls (and boys) scurried away.

Waddling slightly uncomfortable, partly from her drying mud body cast, partly from the wedgie she had yet to dislodge, Jayden would call out to the nearest organizer-host-looking-person/anybody-who-could-help-her (Justin?):

"'Scuse me!" Her tone was remarkably cheery, unfazed by her current appearance. "How might I retrieve some personal belongings back there?" Referring to her loose hair slicked over her shoulders and bare toes wiggling on the ground, as she began to explain which items she had lost during the race.

Indeed, her course had been a mud run. Tailored to perfection, custom made for her. Alright, maybe just a little section of it was a mud pit that she might've slipped and faceplanted into, then inchwormed across and rolled around for heck of it, already dressed in pig-pink. While Jayden had tackled the mud obstacles with gusto, no stranger to getting down and dirty with the sorts of redneck games her country folk played at home, the mud had sucked up her pair of silver lace flats and, coupled with the amount of running that dislodged her hairdo, her crystal hair piece as well. Shoes were a bit more important to her at the moment. Gems, her great-aunt in New York would argue otherwise and wouldn't be too pleased if Jayden came home without them.

"Sooo, if I could run over there real quick and get 'em, or if one'a yer Pukwudgies could," (aka "House-elves" who were much more friendly and helpful than their grumbly cousins) "Or if anyone else finds 'em, lemme know." She snapped her fingers, pointing them like pistols with a click of her tongue and playful wink. "That'd be appreciated, thank'ya'vury'much."

Luckily her wand was still secure in its holster, but if mud was an interference to magic conduction, she'd need to rinse the thing off first, before attempting to Scourgify herself.

Honestly, a dunk in the Lake sounded pretty good, right now.

A race! Iris was ecstatic upon learning the knowledge that the next trial was a race. Iris loved races, specifically on brooms, but this wasn’t bad either. Her adrenaline was still pumping rather hard from the previous challenges and this one was no different. She had found each trial in quick succession, jumping from one to the next without giving herself much time to really think between. That’s the thing about adventures, you have one and then you crave more.

Iris bounced on her heels, listening to the quick instructions. Run from the ball back to the Underworld (which she now knew was the spooky entrance thing) and get a pomegranate. There would be things trying to protect the pomegranate but Iris wasn’t going to let some little obstacles stop her. She was unstoppable! And she had martial art skills, so she could smack anything out of the way. At least, she told herself that. It sounded easy enough, running was fun, dodging mysterious incoming things was fun, she was just so hyped from adrenaline that nothing was going to stop her now.

Iris got ready and took off, running at full speed, holding her dress down with a huge smile on her face. It had been so long since she had felt the wind on her face, the familiar feeling of her feet meeting the floor. Her heart was pounding and her legs were almost immediately feeling strained, that wouldn’t stop her though, she had a fruit to get!

A race? Dee huffed slightly. While she was usually not opposed to running - was used to it, in fact, from childish games and simply her impatient personality - she usually wasn't wearing a dress. And especially not a long swishy dress that would get tangled around her legs for sure. Rolling her eyes, Dee looked down at her long, flowing skirt, and for a moment seriously considered just cutting it off.

But no - a silly trial didn't really warrant such drastic action, she decided, and it was such a pretty dress, if inconvenient. Placing down her apple on whatever horizontal surface was nearest, Dee picked up the fabric that reached very nearly down to the floor, considering it for a moment. Then, she gathered it forward, pulled it to the back between her legs, and ended up tying it in a knot around her waist. Now she was ready to kill a man. Hopping up and down a bit, she nodded in satisfaction. It would hold, long enough at least that it wouldn't be in the way for the race. The sandals she wore were simple and flat, not as good as running shoes, but they would do just fine. No heels, at least, or intricate decorations. Nothing that would rip or get caught anywhere, practical.

Deciding to leave her apple here for the moment, she bounced on the balls of her feet, admittedly a little excited for the race. She was rather confident in her dodging skills, and not too worried about whatever obstacles they'd come up with. This would be a piece of cake.

Readying herself, Dee was smiling when the signal came to start. But then, pride often comes before a fall.

This was the Trial of Hermes, the penultimate game Elisabeth played tonight. Speaking of the mythical figure ancient Greeks called the protector of merchants, the Hufflepuff actually was not sure what to think of him. Sure he was shrewd, a master of thief who began his career even before he reached one day old, but he was also a messenger of the gods and he was the one who accompanied souls when they entered the Underworld.

The more she thought about the Greek gods, the more Elisabeth admired their creativity and intelligence. Imagine telling stories of imperfect gods who were the splitting image of themselves! All of them were grey, if one really thought about that: this Hermes guy, and then the idolised but womaniser Apollo, misunderstood Hades who was not evil but unpitying and inexorable though just (Those popular media have done him wrong in their portrayal! thought the girl), and all of them.

This challenge required participants to fetch a pomegranate, but that was not all. There were traps and other trickeries all around, and the organisers even made sure to charm the pathways so no one could work together or give hints to each other. There were several skills needed in order to successfully fetch the red fruit, including speed, reflexes, evasion, and a sharp eye. And a good luck. Sometimes there was just this factor...

The twelve-year-old slightly doubted herself. She was not such a quick and nimble individual, and tonight she might had an extra challenge as she was in her dress shoes with their heels. They were not that high, but they were rather thin and naturally, not ideal for running. For a second the dark-haired girl considered taking them off, but quickly she brushed away that thought: she might injure herself if she ran barefoot. Keeping her shoes on, Elisabeth wondered if this time, luck was on her side.

A race huh? Alan was good at racing, he loved running and jogging and climbing and just goofing around, so he was quite excited for this one. He had heard that those obstacles seemed to shift and randomize as if to make themselves unique for every contestant and that kind of intrigued the fourth year. He would have loved to ask for this to stay permanent for at least the day, that way he could possibly just run through it a couple of times and test it out even more. It just sounded like a lot of fun and so Alan got ready. He hoped that his costume would not slow him down in the attempt to complete this trial but he just had to give it his best shot and hope for the best. At this point it wasn't even about winning all of the trials, he specifically wanted to excel at this one and test the limits of his agility. He truly hope he would not trip or anything, as he wasn't sure if he were to be allowed to try a second time. He had to focus, but that can often be easier said than done.

As Nichlas stood there and listened to the explanations of this trial, the trial of Hermes, he couldn't help but scoff at the organizer of this duel. They were wizards and witches and were required to hand deliver a pomegranate while running around, avoiding obstacles like a fool? He would not steep that low in an attempt to make up his mind about the students of this school. If they had at least been giving the permission to use their brooms that would have been a whole other deal, but this was not it, right? He didn't mind running or jugging, or doing things to stay fit but this silly game was just pushing it too far, especially with how many people attended this is costumes and expensive wear that could easily rip under the strain of physical activity.

Niche's shoes were not made for running in them and he wasn't gonna risk getting a wound or falling because people didn't think things through. He shook his head as he just passed on this one, as he made his way to the next trial; the trial of Persephone that he had high hopes in. Clearly that one couldn't be too bad right? At least it wouldn't require much or any physical activity, but he wondered what exactly it would be about.
