Henry wasn't trying to noble or a 'hero' the young teen just wanted to do what he thought was right. The second year couldn't imagine getting his best friend in trouble for something he wanted to do and acted on so naturally he was trying to take the blame. He didn't think she deserved detention, after all she was just being a great friend and helping him find information from a section that was restricted for them.
The spiked hair boy was someone he hadn't seen before in his two years at Hogwarts. The boy sounded odd, almost like he was a prefect or authority but he couldn't have been. At least not a prefect. There is something odd about the boy.
Shawn. A first year. He didn't say his house through, there was still something about him that Henry couldn't shake.
Henry squeezed Logan's hand in return and waited till she finished before speaking" And am Henry," the teen eyed the boy for a moment before continuing" your a first year Shawn? Would you mind me asking what house your in?" The teen was curious why he never seen or recognized this lad before, not to mention his voice and words sounded peculiar. Not akin to any first year who he met, there was something off about him or something that he wasn't telling them perhaps.
'Shawn' asked again. What were they doing. In most situations, honestly would be the best path in most situations except in this one. A little bit of lying never hurt anyone and Henry didn't think how another would see the real reason to why they were there.
Henry nodded to Logan's answer before speaking" right and I was helping her find the books and also see if there's any books on magical creatures, I want to be a magizoologist," Henry offers a light smile, hiding all other emotions behind his face as he squeezed Logan's hand a bit and looked at the boy. Taking a moment to consider something within his mind before looking it and suggesting" if you are going to tell a professor then just tell them about me, not everyone had to get in trouble today and we never made it inside the restricted section anyway."
Henry knew that Logan would be aginest him taking the blame but the young teen couldn't bring himself to know that because of his actions and selfish needs, he got his best friend a detention or in trouble so the suggestion might work depending who extractly 'Shawn' turns out to be.

Shawn nodded his head. "Nice to meet you, Logan," he told her once she had introduced herself. When she explained what she was looking for in the restricted section, however, his lips parted slightly in confusion.
"Um...can't you ask the potions teacher for more advanced potions books? Isn't that what prodigal potions students do?" he wanted to know, jerking a thumb back over his shoulder. "Or was there a particular potion you had in mind that you were looking up the recipe for?"
The boy nodded again when Henry introduced himself, but looked exasperated when he was questioned about his house. "If you must know, it's Gryffindor," Shawn said, looking away as though he was embarrassed. "But again, I don't see what that has to do with what's going on here."
He heaved a deep sigh when Henry insisted he was trying to see if there were any books on magical creatures in the restricted section. "What's wrong with the selection of books on magical creatures in the non-restricted section?" Shawn asked scratching his head. "Look, I can show you. There are plenty of good choices on advanced potion making, too. You just have to know where to look. And it's not over there." He nodded toward the area they had just been about to trespass in.
"Come on, I'll show you." He waved them over as he began to turn toward another part of the library, eager to show them more books on what they were supposedly researching.

Logan listened to Henry question the boy more, she wasn't surprised that he was a little hesitant though, as Shawn had just shown up out of nowhere. Once Shawn asked her about talking to the professor about getting more advanced potions, she rubbed the back of her neck, a bit embarrassed.
"I..um...I am a prodigal potion student." She muttered, she was one of a many students who were advanced at potions, but she always wanted to learn more than just what was taught in the year ahead of them. "I want to learn more healing potions, I don't have any specific ones in mind though." She found Shawn to be mostly friendly, which was a surprise to her as she thought he would turn them in immediately.
Listening carefully, the Hufflepuff gave Henry a questioning look at the thought of him wanting to be a Magizoologist. She thought she had heard him mention it before, but wasn't completely sure about that anymore. "Let's just go with him Henry," she said as she nudged the boy beside her gently, maybe the Gryffindor boy wouldn't turn them in if they went with him willingly.
"How do you know where the more advanced potions and books on magical creatures are at? I spend hours a day in here and have a difficulty finding the books I need." She found it strange that he knew where these books were at and questioned it, although maybe there were other people who spent more time in the library than her.

The kid who caught them seemed rather focused with staying on the topic of potions, one that Henry didn't he mind. The young teen was still around nervous about the true reason for his visit so the small lie was a minor set back of the young teen's true goals.
If a lie was needed to keep his search on his family a secret then a lie will be told, after all no one got in trouble after one small lie? Didn't every great person at a time lie or bend the truth to their will and they ended up doing something great. So if they could do that they why not them?
Logon responded, Henry nodded to his friend's response on being a prodigal potions student then heard her next statement. Healing potions. Didn't his best friend mention that she wanted to be healer? Henry thought he remembered her saying that but couldn't be sure.
When Shawn mentioned being a gryffindor, Henry looked at him. If he showed emotions then a frown would appear on his gave but luckily the young teen happened emotionless. Not showing any sign of feeling on his face.
The blue eye lad stared at Shawn, trying to put a face to name. It was funny, some of his best mates were from gryffindor and yet he never remembered seeing the spiked hair boy. It was odd. This was odd.
"I- uh," Henry started to answer Shawn's question on the magical creature books not found in the restricted section, unsure what to say to not get further into trouble as he continued" I read about all the non restricted books on magical creatures. Their my favorite topic and soon class, I have straight O's and I seen the captain of my dueling team in uh interesting situations so I thought if she looks for potion books then I could find books on magical creatures and a few dueling techniques to impress my captain who is uh tough." It wasn't the best explantion but the young teen would try for one, to explain himself.
Shawn wanted to show them where the advanced books are and Logan agreed, Henry was still on the fence about the boy. Something about him just was odd, it rose the hair on the back of his neck and allowed his anxiety to hover over his head.
Henry would remain by Logan's side as he nodded toward her and replied" fine," the young tern wild follow the two, choosing to stay at the back of the group as he was existing the spiked hair boy anything suspicious.
