Suzuki mentally kicked herself. What did she think the girl would say? Wasn't it kind of obvious? She ran a hand through her hair, annoyed, and watched as Mikoto went to pay for the books.
Evidently, the store owner didn't accept the cash. Mikoto'd need to go to Gringotts to exchange cash for gold. But still... It didn't make sense. Mikoto said she'd bought everything except for books already- surely she'd know that the shops here only took gold?
Gah... Suzuki had always been told she overthought stuff too much. Her brain whirled around at Mach 4, her mother had always said with a laugh. She frowned.
"Here, just take this." Suzuki pulled out a bunch of galleons from her pocket, just enough to pay for the books. "I already got my stuff." She handed it to Mikoto.
Even though Suzuki hid it, there was no denying the fact that her family, or rather, her mom, was rich. Despite the Ministry sucking up all Emi (Suzuki's mother)'s time, it sure did pay a lot. Not to mention how much Emi Suzuki had inherited from her parent's wills...
Suzuki glanced at the small analog watch on her wrist. It was a special watch, one that her mother had given her for her tenth birthday. It had a black face, and instead of hour and minute hands, there were planets orbiting a small sun at the center. It was a Muggle watch, which had cost quite a bit. The thing Suzuki loved most about it, however, was how accurately each small planet's orbit was depicted. Everything was accurate. Like it should be.

Momiji looked at the coins blinking a little it looked like older-looking money. It reminded her of old British coins but these looked like new they sure shined like it. "i... t-thank you b-but i can p-pay you back when I go to... G-Gringotts?" she repeated still a little confused about it she wondered if it was something she'd be able to do. she was only eleven after all. "But... maybe i should find out what the r-rest of this costs before I e-exchange things..." she said quietly mostly thinking to herself as she got the golden list out of her pocket. She bit her lip putting her hand closer to feel the bear's fur and taking a calming breath. okay think a new world a new economy she looked over at the owner. "i-in other shops if I were t-too gather my i-items a-and c-calculate the costs w-would they k-keep it there f-for me to go back and get it?" She asked wondering what the store's policies on such things were. she knew some shops in the muggle world did such things but others did not. The owner looked a bit surprised by the question and supposed it would depend on the mood of the owner. They did mention a couple that would be reasonable about it but they didn't seem close to all the owners in Diagon alley. Momiji hummed with the response and looked thoughtful before looking at Suzuki. "i-i really don't think I c-could accept y-your kind offer e-especially i-if it takes me some time to find w-where I can e-exchange my money..."

Suzuki kind of wished the girl wouldn't stutter so much- it was kinda hard to understand her. Despite that, Suzuki didn't to a shabby job deciphering her words.
What? Didn't she just say she bought everything except for the books?
"Probably. Gringotts is just around the corner. You want me to take you there?" Suzuki asked, annoyed. She hadn't signed up to be a nanny or a tour guide, but since it didn't look like her mother would ever come back, Suzuki told her thoughts to screw off. She doubted she'd meet another Japanese around here, anyways.
"Just take the gold, I don't need it."
Although that was correct, Suzuki did kind of need it. She wanted to get herself a pet or something.. But she'd done the math and she wouldn't have enough to even get a toad. So now, the gold was worthless to her. She'd already bought her stuff, and gotten everything packed in her trunk.
Suzuki couldn't help but wonder why the girl was lugging the gigantic bear everywhere. Was it a gift from her parents or something? Or just a plain old bear that the girl had gotten attached to? Whatever. Suzuki searched around in the shelves, and took out the book she'd been reading earlier. Scribbling the name of it down on a spare piece of parchment, Suzuki jammed the paper into her pocket, and returned the book to it's place in the shelves. She'd see if the Hogwarts library had the book; her mother had said it was a huge place, so it'd definitely have an unlimited (okay fine, maybe not unlimited) store of books.

Momiji eyed her quietly before nodding. "alright..." she said softly. Since she was so insistent Momiji gave in like she usually did in such situations. She watched Suzuki walk away before looking at the owner and paying for the books with Suzuki's money she shifted to the side and opened up her suitcase carefully putting the books on the bottom of the empty bag. She zipped it back up then started rolling it till she saw her again. "T-Thank you..." she said quietly. She knew it would take her the whole day if Suzuki wasn't here to help. "S-So I guess I'll go e-exchange all my money and b-be done with it... T-then go and get everything else" She said as she got the note out. "i-i'm a little nervous I w-wont have enough space l-like the cauldron I have seen the play m-Macbeth and h-how big that one was..." she bit her lip obviously this one had to be smaller considering it said size 2 but she still wondered how big it was comparatively. it was a bit embarrassing, to say the least, to say it out loud to this girl though she really didn't know anything of the magic world.

Suzuki eyed the tiny girl in her hand-me-downs. It was kind of hard believing she was eleven, but Suzuki went with it.
"The cauldron isn't that big." Suzuki put her trunk down, rifled around in it (she really had to get more organized), and pulled out the cauldron. It was pretty small, and just fit inside her trunk. "Just carry it. It's got a handle." She put the cauldron back, and snapped the lid of the trunk shut. Suzuki stood back up.
"You want me to show you to Gringotts or can you at least find it yourself?" She asked, glancing around the dim lit store. To be honest, Suzuki would've liked to stay in the store a bit longer; the wonderful smell of old books was intoxicating, and there were so many books to be discovered. Unlike the Muggle paperbacks, the book covers were of high quality and leather, and were soothing to the touch. Apart from the fact that there were no books about warplanes and aircraft, Flourish and Blotts was amazing. Suzuki watched the warm orange flame of a candle dance and flicker.
Her eye twitched, and she watched as a woman, and what was probably her son passed the aisle in front of them. Suzuki's eyes followed the pair until they disappeared from sight.

Momiji looked at the cauldron. "oh!" She hummed she could probably fit that in her backpack too. either way, now she knew. She kinda peeked at the other stuff in her trunk to get size ideas as well. "J-just around the c-corner?... I'm sure I c-can manage" She bowed a little. "T-Thank you for your h-help and your kindness," She said quietly before picking up her suitcase handle and proceeded to make her way out of the store. She looked around a little before moving weaving her way through the busy alley. Hearing snippets of conversation she tried to tune out. Everyone was so loud though especially the kids complaining about things she didn't really understand. Why would someone want a broomstick? She couldn't help the thought as she passed a family a little boy crying and pointing at the store. Then she remembered in stories witches flew on brooms. Was that real?
She spotted the bank and made her way in. Stunned to see the people... Creatures inside. Goblins? She thought pausing there before looking around she went to where most people seemed to go and asked about exchanging money. They explained how the currency transferred. It wasn't a terrible exchange rate. Now she had a bag full of money and an empty muggle wallet. she put it in her backpack and went about finding where to go next. She saw the wizarding robe shop so she went into that store next. Thankfully they had just finished with a customer but now she had to stand there and get measured for her new wizarding robes.
