Amadea tried to smile at both of the people talking to her, hoping it looked sincere and not scary. She closed her book and responded to Odette first, as she was the first one who had talked to Amadea. "Nice to meet you, Odette. I'm the first Hufflepuff you've talked to? Hopefully I've made a good impression for you of our house." Amadea laughed a little. "Don't worry about the stuttering. I was really nervous when I first came here too. You don't have to be nervous." She hoped the girl would be able to get more comfortable around her. She seemed like a nice girl.

Amadea then turned to Kyle. She studied him for a moment before responding. Not trying to evade his question, she noticed his eyes and was immediately intrigued. "Do you have heterochromia?" She ducked her head and twirled a curl between her fingers, hoping she wasn't prying. "Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude or anything...I just noticed your eyes. They're very interesting. And about the book I'm reading..." She flipped the cover closed and spun it around so it was facing the Slytherin so he could read the title: The Tales of Beetle the Bard. She blushed slightly. Reading a children's book might make her seem immature, but she enjoyed reading the stories at an intellectual level to see all of the hidden messages and nuances of the stories that she didn't catch when she was a child. She wondered if the other students had read the stories, or if they came from completely Muggle families.

Elsie shyly took a seat next to the Slytherin boy and placed her book bag on the table. "My name is Elsie Hoagland. I'm a half-blood and in Ravenclaw" she introduced biting her lip to calm her still present nerves. Of course they could probably tell she was a Ravenclaw. She was about to ask the two student what their names where but before she could do so she notice another girl coming over.

"Hello, I'm Amadea. Amadea Campbell. I'm a Hufflepuff. Nice to meet you all. Sorry to intrude also, if I'm intruding. I hope it's okay that I'm sitting here. I probably should've started with that. Sorry, I'm not very eloquent." The girl introduced. Elsie was a bit surprised but grateful for another friendly face.

'so she's a Hufflepuff?' Elsie thought. To be honest she hadn't met very many people from other houses. 'I wonder what her common room is like?'

As the conversation went on Elsie learned that the other two students names were Kyle and Odette. Elsie couldn't help but notice the book Amandea had in her had. Reading books was definitely a number one hobby. Well next to writing of course. " Hey, Amadea. What book do you have?" Klye asked. Elsie couldn't help but perk up see how she was equally curious.

However, Amandea didn't answer instead she asked. "Do you have heterochromia? Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude or anything...I just noticed your eyes. They're very interesting." Elsie tilted her head slightly in confusion. Heterchromia is where you have two eye colors. She finally took notice of Kyle's eyes and they were indeed two colors.

'How come I didn't notice that earlier?' she wondered. "I agree."Elsie added her cheeks heating up out of embarrassment. She looked away biting her lip again. "I've never seen anything like them before."

"My name is Elsie Hoagland. I'm a half-blood and in Ravenclaw" Kyle smiled at the Ravenclaw, more comfortable now as he knew he wasn't the half-blood in this group. He placed his right hand on her shoulder to calm her, obviously, still present nerves, as his left hand raked through his already roughed up hair.

"Do you have heterochromia?" He watched as she started twirling a curl of red hair around her finger. "Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude or anything...I just noticed your eyes. They're very interesting. And about the book I'm reading..." She closed the cover of the book and faced it towards him, showing him the book she was reading, The Tales of Beetle the Bard. He had never read the book because his mum was anti-magick, but he had heard a little of it from his father when he was really little.

Kyle blushed, embarrassed at the fact everyone had now noticed his eyes. He looked down at the ground, blush covering his cheeks.

"I never knew the scientific name for it, I just knew it was extremely different and weird. My family, other than my step-brother Logan, would often call me an oddity because both of my parents have bright, baby blue eyes. My classmates going through elementary school would make fun of me because they all had one eye color not two. Sorry I'm going into a self-pity rant, I didn't mean to, but thank you for telling me what it is called. And as for your book, I haven't read it. I've heard good things about it and everything, just haven't had the chance to pick it up for myself. Hey, if that is your copy, could I just borrow it when you are done?"

Kyle looked up at the three girls around him, red cheeks showing just how embarrassed he was after the accidental self-pity. He didn't want them to get the wrong idea of his house because of him and how immature he could be in certain moments. He also didn't want them to get the wrong idea of his personality because of one moment or another.

Odette sat quietly as the others talked about the book Amadea was reading before she mentioned Kyle's eyes. The scientific name for it was so... Weird. Odette just thought that his eyes were unique, different and pretty. She saw a blush form on Kyle's cheeks and wondered if he was embarrassed. He shouldn't be. He had two beautiful coloured eyes.

"I never knew the scientific name for it, I just knew it was extremely different and weird. My family, other than my step-brother Logan, would often call me an oddity because both of my parents have bright, baby blue eyes. My classmates going through elementary school would make fun of me because they all had one eye color not two. Sorry I'm going into a self-pity rant, I didn't mean to, but thank you for telling me what it is called.--"

Odette didn't hear anything else after that. He was made fun of because of his eyes? Odette's eyesbrows furrowed and when Kyle was finished speaking, she said, "it wasn't a self-pitied rant. You were just telling us something about you." She gave him a small smile before continuing, "I was bullied in my old schools because I was adopted and because I'm clumsy. They always told me I didn't belong and that I was trying to fit into a puzzle that didn't need me." She shrugged. "It doesn't define who you are. Or it shouldn't, anyway." She smiles shyly once more, blushing, for talking so much.

Odette didn't always talk a lot but she wanted him to know that he wasn't alone. They might be different reasons for getting picked on but she just didn't want him to be uncomfortable for sharing something about himself.

Amadea smiled as Elsie introduced herself. She grinned at everyone, hoping that everyone wasn't feeling as awkward as they first did anymore. She listened as Kyle explained his condition and nodded along. "I never knew the scientific name for it, I just knew it was extremely different and weird. My family, other than my step-brother Logan, would often call me an oddity because both of my parents have bright, baby blue eyes. My classmates going through elementary school would make fun of me because they all had one eye color not two. "I'm really sorry to hear that," she told him once he had finished his story. "No one deserves that, and don't think it's a self pity rant. Personally, I think your eyes are really cool. And of course you can borrow the book when I'm done. It's really good! And if you don't want to wait until I'm done, you can always get a copy from the library. I'm sure they have it."

She could tell Kyle was embarrassed and she was sorry for asking the question. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable and she had just pried too much. She sighed, unsure of what to say next. Odette also voiced her opinion about Kyle's condition and it sounded like they all agreed. She smiled at both of the students.

Kyle explained to the three girls. Elsie frowned slightly when Kyle apologized. As a young self-doubter at times it wasn't hard to relate. She quickly took interest when the conversation turned back to the book. Turns out it was none other than The Tales of the Beatle and the Bard a book she remember her father reading to her on several occasions.

"Thats one of my favorite books." Elsie replied with less hesitance, "My papa liked to read to me when I was little. He doesn't get to read with me as often due to work but its still a fond memory." Elsie was relieved that she was becoming a bit more relaxed. She was less stiff and took less notice of her fighting hands. "Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Though I'd say that I prefer writing stories."

Writing was Elsie's all-time favorite pass time. She assumed she had picked up her love of writing from her parents, seeing how they both had professions in writing. "What hobbies do you all enjoy?" She asked becoming a little self-conscious due to how much she had talked. Her cheeks flushed a little while she gave a shy smile.

"It wasn't a self-pitied rant. You were just telling us something about you." Kyle smiled back at Odette as she gave him a small smile before continuing to speak, "I was bullied in my old schools because I was adopted and because I'm clumsy. They always told me I didn't belong and that I was trying to fit into a puzzle that didn't need me." He watched her she shrugged so nonchalantly. "It doesn't define who you are. Or it shouldn't, anyway." Kyle almost hugged Odette, feeling that was exactly what he needed to hear right then, but he also felt bad for her getting bullied. "You shouldn't get bullied because you're clumsy, or because you are adopted. It's all in your genetic make-up and you can't control it. You also can't control your birth parents desi-" Kyle stopped talking abruptly, suddenly aware he could be going into a conversation Odette may or may not be comfortable with.

"I'm really sorry to hear that," Amadea told him, after he had finished and Odette had given her story as well. "No one deserves that, and don't think it's a self pity rant. Personally, I think your eyes are really cool. And of course you can borrow the book when I'm done. It's really good! And if you don't want to wait until I'm done, you can always get a copy from the library. I'm sure they have it." Kyle smiled brightly as Amadea complimented his eyes, feeling more and more confident as his new friends tell him that it's okay to be different. He giggled as she spoke of the library, seeing as he completely forgot it had existed.

"Thanks! If I'm being honest, I totally forgot the library existed! How can you do that? Rhetorical question." Kyle always added the words 'rhetorical question' after one because back at home no one ever realized they exist. "I might just go see if they have it later," Kyle added with a smile, finally happy to have some friends at this new, totally huge, school.

Kyle took notice of Elsie looking at Amadea's book. "That's one of my favorite books." Elsie said, clearly looking more comfortable around everyone. "My papa liked to read to me when I was little. He doesn't get to read with me as often due to work but its still a fond memory." He noticed that the Ravenclaw girl was less stiff and barely noticed her nervous habits. "Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Though I'd say that I prefer writing stories." Kyle gasped as Elsie revealed this information, he loved meeting up with other people who wrote stories and helping them make their finished product exactly as they wanted it. In his satchel held his muggle composition notebook, where he often hid away and wrote his own stories. "What hobbies do you all enjoy?" Kyle looked at Elsie, taking in her blushing cheeks and shy smile.

"I draw, as you can see, He gestured to the open sketchbook on the table in front of them, "I also like to write, and read. I'm actually working on editing one of my stories, A Villanous Healer." Kyle's cheeks were warm, rosy with blush. He never told anyone about his stories, and these were people he had just met, but he trusted them not to make fun of him, constructive criticism is fine, he can deal with it.

Elsie perked up learning that Kyle liked to write. His book that he said he was working on seemed pretty interesting as well. "Well if you write as good as you draw I'm sure that your book will be a masterpiece." she encouraged shyly. She was happy to find another writer. "My parents are both writers. I guess I've picked up my love of writing from them." Elsie remembered days when she and her parents would have writing contests to see who could make the best short story or poem. But I tend to do more short stories and journaling. Nothing really impressive."

It's not that Elsie didn't want to write a story. She had several times with different ideas but they usually would fall apart of she would simply loose interest. She them turned her attention to Odette and Amadea "And what are your hobbies? " she asked hoping to get to know the fellow Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff more as well. They both seemed nice, Though Amadea appeared to be more outgoing. Then again, she seemed to be the most outgoing out of the whole group. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just curious." She'd hoped she hadn't been a bother. She bit her lip again, a common habit of hers, trying to clam her self from being self critical.

She listened as everyone talked around her. Elsie commented about it being her favorite book and Amadea nodded. "I wouldn't say it's my favorite," she responded, "but I really do love it. I love reading books that are meant for little children to see the hidden meanings and the deeper message that the author puts into them. You'd be surprised at how much would go over a little child's head, but not ours."

She turned to Kyle who was also commenting on the book. She laughed along at his rhetorical question and listened to him talk about his hobbies. He seemed like a very well rounded wizard, which was something Amadea admired greatly. She then answered Elsie's question. "Personally, I love to music," she said. "It's my main outlet whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed with any emotion. I sing, or play an instrument, or sometimes even write a song, though none of them are always good. But I really love music. I'm so glad there's a rehearsal room here that I can practice in sometimes. I wonder if there are any music classes offered here." She stopped rambling, hoping the other students wouldn't think she was some sort of band geek.

Odette wasn't sure if she should say anything. She wasn't much of a talker but she did want friends. She just wasn't very good at making them. Kyle, Amadea, and Elsie seemed to be getting along perfectly. She was still extremely nervous and she wished she wasn't. She wanted to be the kind of girl that wasn't afraid to speak her mind. The one who made friends easily and wasn't so socially awkward. If she was being honest, she was slightly jealous of those who could bond over things so easily. She deeply wanted to be the Slytherin, Hufflepuff and fellow Ravenclaw's friend.

"And what are your hobbies? " The other Ravenclaw, Elsie, asked. Odette waited until Amadea was finished speaking. "Personally, I love to music," Amadea said. "It's my main outlet whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed with any emotion. I sing, or play an instrument, or sometimes even write a song, though none of them are always good. But I really love music. I'm so glad there's a rehearsal room here that I can practice in sometimes. I wonder if there are any music classes offered here."

Odette grinned. "I love music a lot too. I actually play the violin and the guitar. Oh, and I love singing," she says shyly. "I also really love reading. I think that's what I do the most. I love writing my own stories as well and I enjoy writing my own songs. Writing songs is kind of like writing in a diary to me." Odette blushes wondering if she probably shouldn't have said that. But also, if she wants to make friends then they should know things about her. She gives the girls and Kyle a small smile before moving her hair behind her ear.
