A Different Type of Party closed

She was relieved at Gia's positive reaction to the little gift grinning a bit as well. It had been sort of an last minute choice but she had threw something together and with the wonderful power of magic, Elena had managed to whip something up meaningful and yet didn't look it had been hastily thrown together like something out of the garbage bin. "A pleasure." The Gryffindor said raising one eyebrow in interest as Henry's cat seemed to take to sniffing the girl as if trying to determine whether she was a threat or not. She wasn't sure what to make of the creature watching as it quickly lost interest and Elena wasn't sure if that was a positive sign or not. As long as it did't decided to pounce on her and claw at her or something, the Gryffindor reckoned they would be alright. She wasn't a cat person as it is, well, not yet anyways. The things were cute, that much she would admit.

She had to strain her ears to listen to the Gabriella, her voice barely above a whisper though the reasoning behind that, Elena had yet to conclude, Maybe she was just the shy type, the Gryffindor had been the same way when she had got here. Another Ravenclaw, just like Pericles and from what she had seen of that boy, students from the house of the birds were the best friends to have as she nodded her head in response to the other girl. Elena tried to pay attention as Gia suddenly begin to fire off names as if trying to determine who knew who and the girl did her best to kepp track of the names she dropped trying to attribute them to faces. Well, they all were interconnected in one way or another and Elena made sure to make everyone aware of that fact as she bit into one of the marvelous cupcakes that had been prepared.

Her taste buds danced around with joy as she complimented it. "This hits the spot." The girl herself was not much a cook, she was more akin to burn down the kitchen if she ever tried to bake anything but she defintely had a good eye or in this case, a good tongue to know when something was up to par and these cupcakes defintely made the cut. "Your cat seems very picky in the people he associates with." The girl said jokingly adding the remark to Henry watching as the feline seemed rather content in the spot he was near Simon and not showing any sign of wanting to move any time soon. Personally, Elena considered herself a very outgoing person so that feline's rejection of her was just plain wrong in her opinion. She couldn't be that dark and foreboding, could she?

This was nice, just a little outing surrounded by her favorite people and it had been nice of Gia to invite her. Honestly speaking, the brunette had not been expecting to get an invite though they had certainly established a friendly relationship. It was funny, the girl thought to herself smiling that how if she had not probably volunteered to do whatever horrendous things the professor had subjected them to, she probably would not be sitting here among this circle of students. It went to show that there was always a positive in every negative, funny how that worked really. That was when the million dollar question hit her as she posted the inquiry to the birthday girl. "So, how old are you turning, Gia?" She could wager a few guesses, thirteen perhaps? That seemed like a reasonable range for a younger year but it was always an exciting prospect. It was like opening up a new chapter of your life. Elena knew the feeling all too well.
