A literal Bookworm PV

Next thing Maria knew her companions had put their wormy wards down and started grabbing books from the shelves to make the maze with. Ever the cautious girl she was, she took one last glance around the room to see if anyone had noticed them before following their lead. Maybe the librarian or the house elves weren’t around but a nosy student with a penchant for tattling could just as easily get them in trouble. When the coast seemed clear she put El down and went to help River and Alan put their plan into action.

She crouched down to the lower levels grabbing more books and putting them into a small pile next to her. Each tome she pulled from the shelf seemed to be much different from the last, with a variety of unfamiliar characters and languages passing her gaze. When she’d gotten about a dozed, she stopped. “Yeah, I don’t think they could do those little mazes like mice do.” Maria suggested. “So I guess making them the worm-version of Labyrinth of Crete is out of the question.” In the back of her mind an image of their worms dressed as Athenians off to defeat the Minotaur appeared and she giggled. Perhaps the joke might not have translated to her peers, but the concept was all too entertaining for Maria.

“Yeah, a few simple turns with a few obstacles might do it.” Glancing at River she saw the red head forming a book see-saw. “Oh, I like that.” Inspired by the concept she took a few books and started making stairs for them to climb in the form of a book pyramid consisting of six books stacked into three tiers. “Maybe we can also put a book at the end that they have to knock down?” Was the Hufflepuff’s suggestion. She paused for a moment before she realized something. “Do we want them to all going in at once or one at a time?” She asked.

Alan was more excited by the second as he watched the small obstacle course grow in size. "I think we should put them in one by one and stop their time... They will probably distract each other and steal each others food if they are all inside it at the same time," he mentioned as he watched the finished parkour. "It looks great, doesn't it?" he chirped before placing a very thin book at the end for them to knock over, like Maria had suggested. "That way we can test if they would smell the food on the other side or if they rely on sight only; great idea!" he nodded, as he praised Maria. He would then glance at each of their Flobberworms before wondering out loud. "Now who will go first?"

Alan didn't want his Flobberworm to steal the show, the girls should be able to decide which one is gonna get to be brave first. Alan did not mind waiting at all, neither would he mind having his worm go first. He would slowly and securely sprinkle seeds and food along the way so that the flobberworm would easily find their way through the labyrinth. It looked more like a solid trail because Alan was unsure whether they would follow the food otherwise. He was somewhat excited to watch this unfold as he waited for the first contestant.
