Haley had never been the kind of person who planned her future in detail. She knew some things she would definitely want to do, but they could always change, something new could be added or something was crossed off her imaginary list. But she loved to make a spontaneous plan out of such moments. Because this was something she would really want to do someday. The thought made her smile again and her smile grew even bigger when Mav agreed to her suggestion. In her mind, Haley made a note of this on her imaginary list and decided to put it on paper sometime.

"Yes, you're right about that, of course. It's still in the distant future and so many things can happen but in the end it still could come out this way." She shrugged her shoulders and turned her gaze back to the lake. There were endless alternatives and everything could turn out differently or exactly as one imagined. It would be a waste of time to brood over what could happen. Sometimes you just had to let the future come to you and see what it would bring. In the end it would be the right thing, Haley was sure of that.

While the two of them sat there by the lake, obviously dreaming of adventures that lay in the far future, Haley imagined herself travelling the world someday. Alone, with old friends, with new friends she would meet on her journey and with a friend she had decided to find creatures with in her first year at Hogwarts. She smiled at that moment.

And in the same second, there was a loud rumble from the sky above them. What had been clear all day was now happening. The clouds had gathered and darkened even more and only a few seconds after the first rumble it started to rain. Hundreds of tiny drops formed circles on the lake that kept getting bigger and bigger and with every second the rain got a little heavier. The two of them were sheltered by the trees and barely got any of the rain at first.

Haley didn't move and kept on sitting there. She loved this moment and looked over at Mav and started laughing. "Thank goodness we're not made of sugar." She said a little louder as the returning thunder and rain made a loud background noise. She held her arms forward so that her palms were facing upwards and caught the rain. It was getting heavier now and slowly they were no longer protected by the trees.

She stood up now, her hair already slightly drenched, and held out her hand to Maverick to help him up. "Let's go back to the castle." Haley said and at the same moment thunder came again, incredibly loud. She looked up at the sky and back at Mav and started laughing. She picked up her bag and ran. She gave her friend a hand signal to follow her.

As soon as the two ran across the meadows they now had no shelter and after only a few steps they were both completely soaked from the rain. Their hair was now a darker colour and stuck to their faces. Their clothes were dripping from the water but Haley didn't mind. The rain was getting heavier, the sounds from the sky louder, but she found the moment amusing.

As they ran towards the castle, Haley spun around and danced in the rain. She laughed out loud and looked at Mav. She wasn't sure if he was enjoying this moment too and that only made Haley laugh even harder. She wouldn't blame him, after all they were wet, it was cold and they still had a few metres to go before they arrived at the castle. But Haley loved this moment and this day. It had started with the plan to go on an adventure together but was quickly destroyed. Then the two of them just sat by the lake and enjoyed the peace, nature and talking to each other and now they were running through the rain. And so everything turned out differently than planned, but it was still a beautiful day and she gained a new memory.

Haley's laughter increased when she saw Mav doing the same and spinning around. She could have spent hours more here in the rain but they kept running towards the castle and after a few more wet minutes they arrived in front of the castle and were now safe from the rain again. Even though it was not to be feared, Haley was looking forward to being dry. Summer storms definitely appealed to her more, as she could run around in the rain without freezing.

Out of breath but still laughing, she propped her hands on her knees and took a quick breath. Her clothes and hair were so wet as if she had jumped into the lake with them and so were his cloths and hair as well. She moved her wet hair out of her face and took another breath. For the first time she could now see Maverick's full face as he moved his wet hair out of his face. For the first time she could see his dark chocolate brown eyes without his hair in the way. She smiled at the sight, in a way he looked different but on the other hand not at all.

Now that Haley was no longer running, the cold in her body became noticeable and she knew she had to get under a warm shower and put on some dry clothes or her mood would worsen. Haley hated being cold and would rather sweat all year than walk around in a T-shirt in the snow for just one day. The cold spread quickly and goosebumps formed all over her body and her teeth slowly began to chatter.

"Today was really a beautiful day, even without creatures." She broke the silence now and smiled at Mav. "But I'm really cold now and I can already hear the warm shower calling me." She joked as the two walked through the large entrance hall. "I hope we can do this again soon." Suggested Haley before saying goodbye and running up the stairs to the common room.
