Sincerely, Me Finished

Amadea felt very awkward standing here with the girls. Not that there was anything wrong with them. She just didn't know what to say or what to do and the conversation was lagging. A lot. She was still thinking about hedgehogs and some odd fact she could spurt about them when Ami thankfully continued the conversation. Weather was always a safe topic, right?

"Personally, I like listening to the rain at night when I'm in bed," Amadea offered. "But I don't enjoy being doused by it when I'm outside. Then my clothes are sticky and wet and I just feel really icky."

She listened as Cecily talked about the metaphorical way she viewed rain as washing out all of the bad and how it starts over when the sun comes back out. Amadea thought that was a good way to view things. Instead of having a pessimistic view and thinking about how the rain ruins plans and things, Cecily had an optimistic view of cleansing things and washing away all of the bad feelings. And she did make a good point, dancing in the rain was quite fun.

"That's a great view," Amadea said. "I've never thought about it that way before."

Ami shrugged, conceding the point to Cecily and Amadea. A solid argument, although her mindset wasn't all the way changed. She would still prefer it to be sunny that rainy on most days, although weeks without rain might change her mind... but anyways, I digress, she thought to herself."I suppose that's true, as well- rain does have a... a certain aesthetic that makes it seem so appealing. I just don't like Chicago rain- it's all polluted and gross, and it makes the city look really dreary."

Looking out to the grounds through the window, Ami sighed, a small smile creeping across her face, lifting the corners of her lips. Say, it really was a nice day out- the sun was shining, picturesque clouds floating here and there, the grass was oh so green... maybe she'd pop outside for a bit later on in the day when she had the time to. She brightened up, suddenly thinking of an actually good idea- thus, she ended up suggesting, "Maybe we could go outside? Y'know, before it starts theoretically raining." She laughed lightly, glancing back outside again. "Unless, of course, you don't want to. That's okay, too. Y'know, anything goes, I don't really care..." Cringe.

Cecily smiled as Amadea backed up her point with a very true statement about the sound of rain at night, and Ami finally relented. "Rain does have a... a certain aesthetic," the Hufflepuff agreed, before explaining that her negative views on rain came from the dreary, polluted downpours of her home city.

"Ah, yes, I could see how that might be less exciting in the city. But out in the countryside, the rain is my favorite weather. I love it."

Cecily saw Ami glance out the Owlrey window at the bright, beautiful Hogwarts grounds. "Maybe we could go outside? Y'know, before it starts theoretically raining." Ami laughed a bit as she proposed the idea, then began taking it back for some reason.

"No, no, that's a great idea!" Cecily saved the Hufflepuff from her own relatable awkwardness, and laughed a bit at her joke. Looking outside, the weather was beautiful, and an that moment, Cecily decided that she really should get outside more often. She had been spending most of her free time wandering inside, completely forgetting about the world outside of the castle. Now, she could see the glistening lake, inviting green grass, and waving trees, and for once did not wonder why all of the ant-sized student she could see wandering in twos and threes decided to take a walk on the grounds. It was exactly where Cecily wanted to be. "Let's go!"
