"So, what do you want to do when you grow up? Dancer maybe? You'd definitely be good at it. I mean as long as you can get over your stage right."
Ve hadn't thought about this actually, "I don't know maybe...." she said, "But I was actually starting to think about, a mythical Bird resercher. There is still a lot we don't know about those animals. I have always been a bird person." she stated looking at Bates, "And as for the help with potions yes, I would love the help." she said smiling. She sat up and thought about being a dancer, but shook her head. When ever someone watches her dance she freezes.
"If you want to learn about the mythical birds of Ireland, you should visit my family farm.." she said looking at Lorelai. Her mother was actualy the one how got her so intrested in birds. "But going back to my stage fright, I don't think i'll ever get over it. Honestly though, I don't even know how I got it in the first place." she said chuckling slightly. She knew that getting the cat that Lorelai wanted to bring in would be hard, but she would still try, she enjoyed a good challange. "So if you want to bring in that cat of yours then bring it at dusk. I should have everything ready."

"If you want to learn about the mythical birds of Ireland, you should visit my family farm.."
Lorelai's face lit up at the offer. "I bet you'd be a great magical bird researcher. You could write a book on that! Some sort of guide to magical birds. That would be so cool! And thank you for the offer to visit your farm sounds great I'd love that sometime! I don't know much about mythical Irish birds, heck I've never even been to Ireland before."
Lorelai understood Ve's stage fright. She was never much of a public performer herself. She preferred activities that were more private like reading and writing, and occasionally doodling the margins of her school work. She wasn't much of an artist but it was a good way to pass the time. Ve spoke and Lorelai was once again brought out of her thoughts.
"So if you want to bring in that cat of yours then bring it at dusk. I should have everything ready."
Lorelai's eyes widened. Was she serious? She thought she had been joking before but apparently not. "Woah! Hold your horses. As tempting as that is I don't have a cat to sneak in yet..and us being first years we can't go looking in Hogsmeade or anything. And what would I do when I go home for Christmas? I can't leave it here, and my mom would definitely notice if I snuck in a cat into our tiny apartment..."Lorelai chuckled, the thought of cats running all over her and her mom's barely big enough living quarters was quite amusing.
"But if you want to study potions you could always come to the library with me."She offered.

"But if you want to study potions you could always come to the library with me."
Ve looked at her and nodded with a grin on her face, "And if you would like I could teach you to dance if you wanted, I can at lest try to get over my fear." she said scratching the back of her neck embarresed. She was one who tended to get a bit ahead of herself and hates it. She looked around the Giant room they where in, she never really had time to get a good look at this place, because she is in the 'zone'. She thought back to when she said she and never been to Ireland. "Well summers are nice, but winters are just snow and cold." she said in a shvering tone to empesise her point. Bates took off and landed onto the rafters to catch a mouse scurring across them. She watched him as he waddled around, chasing after it. She closed her eyes and realaxed on the cold floor. In her head she imagened her and Lorelai reaserching and writing together, in a meadow watching the ThunderBirds, Hippographs, and more flying over head. Ve's head lent more into her arms, as she pulled out a book from the bag next to her, and started to read.

Verla rushed into the ballroom, trying to hide from some kids, she was out of breathe. She saw her friend Ve and though she would blend in with them until those kids were gone. She approached Ve and another person and waved "hi guys" she said out of breathe still.
The doors burst open "find her!" a kid yelled.
Verla looked away from them as a few kids began to search for her. Verla begged them to hide her with her eyes, without speaking. When she hid, and the kids were gone, she came out "phew! Thanks for hiding me, they were picking on me and I punched one in the face so they'd leave me alone. I hate hurting people, but at least they'd leave me alone." She cast her head toward the door they walked out of "hopefully." She let out a long breathe, and hoped Ve wouldn't notice that she didn't have Oliver any more, she really didn't feel like explaining herself. If she did she would've started to cry, and she didn't want to, not in the beautiful ballroom.
Verla hadn't seen Ve in a while so she asked how she was, hoping bates was okay.

Ve smiled at Verla, waved and gave a thumbs up. Bates flew down and landed onto Verla's Head and layed down, making him look very poofy, Ve smiled and said, "Verla this is Lorelai, Lorelai this is Verla." She looked back at verla sitting up, "Why were you being chased?" she asked her. Normally Verla had no problem with other students of the school. She didn't seem the type to enjoy fighting like she did, which is why she was surprised when she was sorted into HufflePuff. She eyes drifted to the open door, she got up and closed the door.
She let out a loud sigh, as she allowed her mind to wonder around. She thought about what Lorelai said about her being a dancer... infront of a crowd. She shivered at that thought, she guesses that senice she never really dance infront of a crowd she wasn't used to it and made up things that keeped her from doing it. She allowed herself to fall to the ground with a thud as the floor creaked with old age. When she was a girl she alwaysed dreamed about danceing with a crowd and k=now it seemed so impposable now. She looked at the girls in front of her, mabye they could help her. If only she could ask them.

She pet Bates on the head gently and giggled, biting her bottom lip. She looked at Lorelai and said "Nice to meet you." She turned to Ve "One of the kids they.... they called me a Mudblood. So I punched them in the face, I was so angry!" She slightly began to cry. She felt horrible, and she began to think she really was one. What a horrible name though. Oliver would never approve if he were there, he'd do all he could to try and change her mind that she was one, but she wasn't there, and he would never be there again.
She'd once been called a Mudblood, though she didn't know what it mean't until her sister told her. That it was a horrible name to call someone with half-blood. The Slytherin house was set on ridding the wizard world of them, and they despised them, though that seemed to change these days. She hoped Ve wouldn't ask what happened to Oliver, she couldn't bear telling her, unless she already knew, which she doubted. She was glad she wasn't caught though, and she shivered at the thought of her being violent "I should apologize to them." She said as she began to walk after them.

"I'm so sorry someone called you that. I've heard a few rude remarks about my mom being a squib myself."Lorelai said, biting her lip at the hurtful memory. Lorelai was unsure of how to comfort the girl so she just stood there awkwardly with pitying eyes. Even when she was only in the muggle world, she got teased for not having a father. It really hurt, and she hoped she would escape that kind of stuff at Hogwarts. Yet, it was only replaced by the lack of magic her mother had. A sigh escaped Lorelai's mouth.
"I don't think you need to apologize."She muttered out loud, barely audibly, unable to tell if anyone else had heard it. She had almost wished she had punched those kids in the face, then maybe they'd not only stop tormenting her but others as well. She never really had the will to do it though. It scared her, hurting someone. She was never a fan of violence, and even if her old bullies deserved a black eye, Lorelai was not the person to give it to them. She did find the enviroment of Hogwarts much more friendly than muggle school. And having friends helped ease the bit of bullying she had seen. Lorelai was a little upset at the thought that maybe more bullying was going on than she had been aware of.

Verla turned around and hugged Lorelai since she knew she was thinking about those memories. "I'm sorry, no one should ever have to witness such a thing." And she knew that she didn't have to apologize, they deserved it. Though it was just the way she was. She thought back to when she witnessed a fight between her parents, when things got physical. Father was so angry at himself, he left for weeks until he came home, begging for forgiveness, it never happened again. But the memory was somehow still fresh in her mind.
She thought about how she had felt afterward. Her mother had cried for her, wanting comfort from her, supposedly only child. So she went to her sobbing mother, and let her hold her in her arms as they cried together. When her dad came home, they acted like nothing happened, her mom had no bruises, so it was like nothing happened.
She gave them a reassuring smile that everything was okay, and it really was. The kid got what they deserved, so she was satisfied, she didn't understand why she ever thought of apologizing. She probably just didn't want to make any enemies since she was such a kind person.

Lorelai was a bit taken back by the hug she received but hesitantly returned the gesture. Despite the comforting words and actions of the girl, the dark-haired girl felt she was still a little upset. "Well, Verla, if you like you are free to stay with us here."The girl said, offering a friendly smile.
She paused before turning to Ve. "I hope we're allowed in here. The last thing I need is an owl home to my mom. I've already been taking chances with sneaking out at night. I haven't heard much talk on the ballroom. It seems to not be used for much other than at the Yule Ball."She sighed. The Gryffindor returned her attention to the newly arrived girl.
"So why don't you tell me more about yourself, Verla? What kind of stuff do you like to do? I don't know if you knew but Ve over here is quite the dancer."She laughed, knowing the girl was self-conscious of her dancing abilities. She knew Verla was a Muggle-born, which Lorelai felt she related to. Technically she was a half-blood, but she had been raised with no magic in her life so it felt like she was one. Maybe she would meet two friends? In one night? 'Today seems to be my night, huh? '

That is why I come her when no one else is here." she said looking towards the door.
"So why don't you tell me more about yourself, Verla? What kind of stuff do you like to do? I don't know if you knew but Ve over here is quite the dancer." she over heard. "Hey!" she shouted in embarrassment as she hid her face in her hands. A few minutes later she stood up and walked to the door. She opened it slightly and looked out. once she was sure the coast was clear she closed it, and walked back over to the other two. When she got to the two, she sat down on to the floor. The embaressed blush still slitly on her face. She opened the book she was reading before, and slowly ater a while she got lost in her own thoughts. Her eyes scanned the pages as her mind gave a blank.
