The kid started to continue talking, seeming to open up a bit. He was a Quidditch player, which meant he was sure to see him again. Then, he said something off about not taking his medication, giving Kels reason to quirk an eyebrow. Medical adherence was sadly very common. A doctor could assign the perfect prescription at the perfect dosage, but it meant nothing if the person didn't take it. There was a large statistic dedicated to deaths by non-adherence that he wasn't about to spout now. Death by ADHD was not likely.
He couldn't say anything before the kid continued-- wow, he talked a lot! This time though, they were getting somewhere. It started with something funny-- him being a polyjuiced version of him (fair). Then got less funny. Something he witnessed that he thought was his fault... when he was under the hospital bed? Did he even want to know what he was talking about?
"Whuh?" Kels scrunched his face like trying to decipher small text. Maybe that guy hadn't just been bad, maybe he had been vile? Either way, he didn't like making the kid re-live it. "Hey, if it's hard to talk about you don't gotta. That guy is gone now, I ain't got no polyjuices, issnot very useful fer treatin' patients."
Not that he had proof, the only thing he could think of that could prove he wasn't transformed right away was Theif's Downfall, but that wasn't practical. As rad as it would be to have a waterfall at the entrance to the hospital wing.
"BUT I can help you with yer medicine. I got lotsa tricks for adherence. Fer instance, you can drop by every day. That way I'll know if ya didn't take it." He realized that this might be hard to do if he didn't trust him, but it was worth mentioning. "Or you could do the same with yer friends. Getting social support is one-a-tha best ways to do it. I could also give ya a pill box."
Kels looked around, wondering where he put them.

@Kelsey BrumbyWhoops. Why had Piérre even brought up the medication? Of course a nurse would be concerned about his mental and physical health. Perhaps he should have just kept quiet. As soon as Mister Brumble had mentioned it, Piérre’s eyes widened and his mouth clammed shut. Whoops. Not what he wanted to say. There were several reason why he didn’t take his medication, and most of the reasons were because he either forgot to do it, or because there were wildly negative side effects to it. He often felt depressed or completely lost, even when he would walk into a room knowing what he needed to do...
It was almost like he was missing a part of himself. ”W-well, you don’t have to do that on my account. I mean, I may have a hard time paying attention, but it doesn’t take away from my quality of life... It’s actually been a lifesaver for Quidditch and... other events.” Yep, being hyperactive seemed to help Piérre just as much as it seemed to distract him; especially in Quidditch, which relied upon fast reaction time and split-second choices. “I don’t think that they’ve found the right balance for me yet.” And he highly doubted that they ever would. Honest in this aspect of his life was not a strong point of his.
Still, it was a relief that Mister Brumble wasn’t asking for more details about Finley. Piérre wasn’t sure if he would have been able to talk about whatever it was that he had the courage to talk about. Truly, he really was no Gryffindor, no matter what color his house was.
“I appreciate you taking me seriously.” Piérre smiled again. “I’ve found that a lot of people don’t listen to kids, let alone me. But...” And there was a bit of a pause as Piérre considered the best way to speak. “I don’t... I like this about me. I’m a little hesitant to try and stay with my prescription because I’m scared that it won’t be me. I’ve heard a lot of stories about the medication I’ve been getting put on... I’ve felt some of its effects. It’s not fun.”
Humming to himself, Piérre shook his head, nervously fiddling with his wand. There was something that he didn’t quite understand about his ADHD-Schizophrenia combo... and that was ‘Why?’
An unlikely combination it was, and both of them affected his perception of the world around him. It could be dangerous, and it could certainly be the reason for his untimely death... but there was something special, something endearing that prevented him from trying to actively seek help. Honestly, he would have preferred if he had simply known that he had been afflicted with these conditions, and that he wasn’t being offered prescriptions to help ‘treat’ it at every turn.
Of course he knew people meant best. Of course they wanted the best for him. Or... at least most people did. But perhaps this was a burden that he was meant to carry alone, a special cross tailored so that not only he could grow stronger from the adversity, but to change the world with it as well.
“Are there ways to live with it without taking medication? I’ve been sketching and stuff... running and trying to just get out and do things. Somehow I feel that would help me more than any prescription.”

In response to his suggestions, the kid said that he thought it wasn't the right balance. Kels wasn't about to interfere, he didn't know this doctor and wasn't muggle certified, there was no way he was going to start contradicting him. It had never really been a part of his job to get patient's past medical history and prescription history. For all he knew, he didn't even have any meds and was just talking about it for attention. Not that he would assume that, but he wasn't an idiot. Patients lied all the time. Some times being a nurse just meant listening to people's problems, sometimes it meant jumping through hoops, and other times it was a matter of life or death. He wasn't nearly as experienced as other healers he had worked with, but he was no spring chicken either.
Therefore, he didn't comment about it. That was between him and his family doctor. He was glad he at least seemed mostly at ease, even though he had never sat down. He nodded along, listening to Piérre talk about his worries over the side effects of the muggle medicine. Kels wasn't a pharmacist, nor a psychiatrist. His studies had been into magic, and had nothing to do with drug interactions. All he knew about those was what he learned from his mom, and she could be a bit batty herself with some of her ideas about healing.
"I'm not gonna tell ya one way or the other, that's fer you and yer doctor to figure out." Kels smiled again, shrugging a bit. "You come to me if you hit your head, okay? Or you catch a cold!"
With that, the chat died down a bit, as Kels assured the boy he wasn't going to get much more out of him, and ushered the chatterbox out. He certainly left an impression though, Kels expected he would be seeing a lot of the Slytherin boy.

Henry wished he wasn't going but his wrist was swelling up a bit and he had a lingering feeling that he broke it so to save him the worry and possible conversation with his best friend about refusing to go to the hospital wing. Henry was walking toward the hospital wing which was possibly the one place at Hogwarts that Henry feared and maybe even hated the most. He didn't meet the new nurse that was hired and didn't have anything against him, really it was just Henry has always felt weird around healers and the hospital wing so he did his best to avoid the place.
Even when he would get sick or injured the twelve year old wouldn't go much to the disagreement of his friends and others. That probably was why he learned the bandaging charm so he could treat himself to some extent and no worry about going to the one place at Hogwarts that increased his anxiety and caused him to worry so much more but the reason for this he didn't tell anyone probably because he couldn't explain it or didn't like to think about it.
So why was Henry heading to the hospital wing in a day off then? Well the bot wad reading in a tree by the great lake when he leaned a bit to far forward when he caught sight of the giant squid and got excited causing him to fall off the tree only this time of his numerous falls off trees, Henry landed directly on his wrist that bended on his fall and now was swelling up if not hurting also. He was thought it might have been broken to since it sort of hurt to bend it and the bandaging charm he didn't think would be strong off for this so he was slowly walking toward the hospital wing.
Henry hoisted his messager type bag on his shoulder when he stepped in and because his greenish and faded jacket was a bit too big for him, he pulled his sleeve over his swelling right wrist and crossed his arms so one couldn't tell that he was injured as he looked around for the nurse as anxiety and nervous became to grew in him and spiral around in his mind.
After a while he would find him and for a few minutes work up the courage to approach him as he kept his arms crossed to hide his injured right wrist until finally he would approach the man as he spoke " uh excuse me? Could I ask you a question?"

Business had been picking up a bit as the winter vacation neared. Kels was sure that after that, everything would drop off again. Ebb and flow was normal with any job, sometimes it was hectic and insane, and sometimes it made one want to fall asleep at their desk. There were a good amount of students milling around the hospital wing at the time as Kels worked on filling out the last of his paperwork for the day.
One kid seemed to be standing around not doing anything but fidgeting. He didn't seem to be looking around for a friend of his, but instead timidly approached the desk after putting it off. Unlike his grown patients, he was starting to realize he would have to learn how to deal with kids who didn't know how to talk to a grown up. This was at least the third nervous kid who awkwardly approached him, maybe all kids were just a frantic bundle of nerves.
It wasn't like Kelsey didn't know what it was like to be a Hogwarts student, especially a young one. It was a lot to take in when he first started, and not just because real magic was new to him. All the new people, suddenly living far away from home, and... well, all the disasters that the location seemed to draw. Since the kid finally worked up the nerve to talk, Kels gave him a smile and his full attention.
"Eeyup. Whatcha need?"

Watching the nurse address him caused the young boy to grip his arms across his chest a bit harder concealing his swollen wrist but also causing it to hurt more than what it was as the boy let his hair fall over his face almost hiding him from the world around he stared at the man as he was trying to decide how to ask him about his wrist or get medical advice without saying he was injured not to mention the room of the hospital wing was getting to him as he looked around feeling his worries settle in his mind and anxiety quicken trying hard to hide it without the use of his hands which were crossed over his chest hiding his injury.
" Uh I has a question for you sir? Professor? It won't take up to much of your time, I promise sir," Henry spoke still desperately trying to keep the clam and mature sounding bus voice despite his rising anxiety and awkwardness in the place that he hated before continuing " I'm asking for a friend of mine actually sir," concealing his swollen right wrist Henry spoke " how could you tell if your wrist or arm was broken or sprained? What type of test can you run on it yourself and how would you treat it?"

As the kid spoke, he was clutching his arm to himself tightly, not really a stance that people usually kept for long. Sure he was clearly nervous, but it was almost like he was hiding something. Was he going to draw a wand on him too? A suspicious squint took in the mousey boy as he asked about a sprain or break... in an arm... for a friend. Kels wasn't quite professional enough to not burst out a motorboat laugh in clear disbelief. He shook his head and sighed, but after shaking it out, the big smile returned. At least kids were bad at lying. Lying patients were one of the most annoying parts of job.
"Welp, there is only one way to know fer sure without looking at the bones themselves. That's if there's, like, a bone stickin' outta ya. If that happens then it's probably broken. Heh." Kels craned his neck around as he spoke, trying to get a look at the kid's tucked away arm. "Other 'an that, 'shard to say. Sprains is the tissue or the tendons 'an stuff, break is the bone obviously... small fractures in tha bone though you can't jus' tell by lookin'."
Giving up on peeking, Kels slouched back into his chair.
"Tell yer friend to come see me, it could be serious. The quicker it's healed up, the better." Kels pulled his wand out, holding it aloft in his hand as he shrugged, "Or he could jus' show me his arm right now an' get it over with."

Henry had a feeling that the nurse knew as he watched him try to peer at his arm causing Henry to grip his arms tighter across his chest which hurt his tight wrist a bit more but luckily he didn't show the pain as he kept it hidden from the man. Now he felt anxiety truly pumping through his body as his breathing quicken and heart pounded at the man's words although at least he knew or through that it wasn't broken so if it was sprained than he could probably use the bandaging charm and leave the hospital wing as fast as he could.
However the next few words caused him to panic some more as Henry knew that the nurse knew he was lying which only increased his anxiety and unable to tap his leg, fiddle with his shirt, run a hand through his hair which meant there was no way of hiding it or stop it as his anxiety spiraled within him causing his breathing to quicken as he looked at the man than down at the ground occasionally shuffling his feet a bit to the side as his heart pounded and head behind to throb as images flashed through the boy's head making him dizzy.
" Uh..." Henry stuttered out but couldn't get any words out as his throat felt like it was closing and his legs felt like they were lead as he griped his arms against his chest quite tight causing pain to shoot up his swollen fractured right wrist unknown to Henry. The twelve year old couldn't shake his fear of the hospital wing or doctors in general it has been a long lasting fear the boy ever since he went to St Mungos for his werewolf stretches along his chest when he was six and unconscious.
Now the boy stared at the nurse with his anxiety spiraling around his mind and clutching tightly to his swollen wrist as he spoke quietly but finally spoke " uh they would but their currently not here right now, the hospital wing increases their their anxiety uh-" Henry felt his voice crack a little as he continue " is there any test that can done through to see if it's just a sprain or fracture? Also would the bandaging charm be able to help it?"

Oh boy... It was one of those dreaded cases-- hated doctors and healers, caused him anxiety. A 12-year-old with anxiety, what was the world coming to? Well, it wasn't like he could change the kid's opinion in a second, that was the kind of thing you could only get over with some time and patience. Best to leave a good impression, instead of making it worse by insisting too forcefully.
"Listen... what's yer name?" Kels stood up from his seat, walking around to the other side to be closer. "When I was your age I used to get into all kindsa scrapes and tumbles. Total pro at getting hurt. There's no surefire way t'see a small fracture without an x-ray or a spell."
Once there, Kels leaned against his own desk, still a distance away in hopes that this wouldn't be intimidating. Really, he was far more used to people thinking he was incapable than people thinking he was intimidating. For as much as people called him childish, he found he couldn't relate to kids anymore at all. To him, his whole life had revolved around healing, he trusted healers implicitly (though perhaps that's a problem in and of itself).
"Bones is hard to heal, even with magic. It's not like a cut that jus' heals itself. If it goes untreated, it'll cause more stress an' pain, malunion maybe, long-term nerve damage." He gave the words a second to sink in, though he had no idea if the kid would be swayed by facts. "Fact 'o the matter is, if ya let me treat ya it will take about five minutes. No more pain, good as new. You leave right now, and I'll be worried about ya all day."

Clutching his arms against his chest as his anxiety rose, Henry felt his breathing quicken and heart pound within his chest while his head throbbed with every word he could say and every situation that could happened. Situations flashing through his head almost putting pressure on his eyes as he blinked a bit but felt dizzy in the end as he felt as if he was shaking when he was not however the back of his neck stayed to sweat of panic as he looked in the man's eyes who was not asking his name.
The voice of the nurse echoed inside his head as he thought it was at a distance when in reality they were only a few feet a part. Shuffling his feet a bit sideways on the ground as his hair fell over his eyes nearly covering his light blue eyes that instead of being filled with kindness or curious, this time however they were wider than usual and blinked more than usual as they were filled with panic and worry two things Henry offended experienced because of his anxiety but never showed.
As he looked around slightly and felt his breathing quicken and heart pound while his head throb increasing his anxiety and panic the thoughts and feelings were making him lightheaded as he shuffled his trainers against the floor a bit back to a chair so he could leaned on it.
The weight that he was leaning against the chair brought some relief as he felt his chest lighten a bit and the feeling of dizziness almost disappear from him. That was before he watched as the nurse started talking about treating him and what would happened if he just left which only increased his anxiety as his breathing quicken and heart pounded with thoughts spinning in his head deciding what to do and what to say confusing the twelve year old who clutched his arm to his chest tighter and tighter.
Time passed
It seemed like moments or hours have passed to the anxiety ridden boy when really it was only minutes not that Henry knew the different since being in the one place that he couldn't explain he just hated or felt panic in talking to the nurse about treating his swollen fractured right wrist as his breathing quicken and heart pounded with his thoughts spiraling around his mind causing him to shake a bit it seemed like he was going to walk away.
Until something happened...
Henry tried to control his breathing as his heart still pounded within his chest and breathing was still quite fast, his thoughts however were decreasing as it made it easier to think and as for a while Henry was in control of his anxiety for long enough to speak.
" My names Henry," he spoke in rather a quiet voice as he looked up at the nurse and felt his heart pound and head throb but breathing slow a bit as he continued in the rather low voice "I'm not afraid of you or medical places. It's just a past incident that causes my anxiety to raise here," Henry felt his heart pound and head throb while thoughts spiraled around his head as he uncrossed his arms and pulled up his sleeves to reveal his swollen fractured wrist.
The twelve year old took small and rather slow steps toward the nurse as his breathing quicken and heart pounded with thoughts spiraling around his head making his head throb as he held his wrist out toward the nurse shaking a bit.
