@Haley Rose

Porthcurno Beach | Cornwall | England | Summer of 2017

Rosie, now Roxie, liked everything about the beach. The strong wind blowing and turning her hair in a chaotic mess, the crunching sound of the sand and how her legs would definitely be sore the next day but in a good way, and how her lungs felt like they were overwhelmed by air as if the whole place welcomed her. One has to know how to listen to nature.
She took a deep breath, happy the girl was not suspecting anything and would help her. What would a muggle be aware of? Well, probably a lot but without realizing it? _Just vacations. With some..._ She paused again. This was a dangerous game. Talking about Lady Aithne, the mentor, and the other kids could spark more questions, a person would be curious about a bunch of kids traveling together with some lady, was it an orphanage, a club, scouts. Who knows. Haley, on the other hand, was already leaving, if she brought questions home the adults wouldn't have the time to see through it...Hum....Too many possibilities. What was weird? What would be weird for a muggle???
_With some of my cousins and my aunt. You know how adults are, hey kids, gotta spend time in nature, not on the..._ Merlin! What's the name of that thing muggles are addicted to?Rosie pretended to be looking if something got caught up in her shoes. _Ops, felt like I step on something. Must have imagined. Anyways, the internet am I right. I miss it._ As the cliffs got higher and more prominent "Roxie" was taken by the scenario of it all. That place exhaled magic. She had never experienced signs of magic, some other kids in the Aithne household had and it was a insecure pinch in her heart, she was never sure, if she was imagining it, or close to feeling it for the first time. If only Haley was a witch and Rosie could share this. They stopped because they needed to wait for the shore to retreat a little.
_This place is a lot more hidden than I expected._"Roxie commented while bending and sitting on her own legs to wait for it all, but Haley's family had a cottage there so she would be familiar with some special spots. _Doesn't it feel like we are the only ones awake, or at least the only ones existing, right now?_

Interacting with @Rosie Marricott Willew

Haley looked skeptically at Roxie when she stopped again in mid-sentence. Why did she just stop talking? Something was wrong with Roxie, but Haley just couldn't figure out what. Haley shook her head briefly and grinned to herself - it must be those muggles - she thought to herself and didn't give it a second thought. But suddenly she stopped again in mid-sentence but she must have had something on her foot. Still, Haley continued to be a bit skeptical with her new acquaintance.

"Oh, then why are you here alone? Didn't your cousins want to go to the beach?" If the answer were no, which Haley assumed it was, she would never be able to comprehend it. She loved this place. The fresh sea air, the sand between her toes, and just the nature out here. Never would she have turned down the suggestion to go to the beach. "Um, yeah the internet. I don't miss it because I rarely use it." Spoke Haley, shrugging her shoulders. In fact she knew what the internet was her father was a muggle and accordingly she knew a lot from the muggle world and at home there was not too much magic at as well. "Parents." She added again, shrugging her shoulders to justify her behavior. She didn't know how much time muggle kids spent on the internet but she preferred to spend her time outside with friends or with books and stories of her family. Ever since she knew she was a witch, she did everything she could to learn more about this world and especially about Hogwarts.

Now, as the two of them stood in front of the cave and slowly walked inside, Haley began to feel bad. The cave was not known to the muggles and it should stay that way. But now she was so careless and brought the girl here. What if she told her family about it today and they would tell others and so on. Then suddenly there would be a lot of Muggles here and the secret passage would no longer be safe. Roxie brought Haley out of her thoughts and back to reality when she started talking. She was a bit surprised, because Haley felt the same way and never thought she could have such a common ground with a muggle. "I totally understand what you mean." Haley said in wonder. "It's like that's all there is. The beach. The ocean. And us." Haley smiled at Roxie and the two strode further into the cave.

"Well, you can start looking for shells." Remarked Haley, looking down at the ground. "But, um, can you please do me a favor?" she now addressed a bit uncertainly to Roxie before she was engrossed in her search. "Please don't tell anyone about this place, okay?" She really hoped that Roxie would agree and actually stick to it. In the worst case she would have to tell her parents about it and they would have to enchant her memories, but it wouldn't come to that.
