Just as Aurora's question had slipped through the gates of her lips, another girl knocked on the glass door that opened to the compartment. She carefully slid it open, asking if she could sit with Aurora and the two other girls.

"Yes of course, come in." Aurora said welcoming the girl. "I'm Aurora, and this is Hildegard and Katie." Aurora gestured to the other two girls which she was sitting with. "So what's your story? Me and the others have already gotten to know each other quite well, so now it's your turn. Tell us about yourself." Aurora smiled at the new girl who had just taken her seat. She was curious to learn more about this girl, her kind eyes and dark hair intriguing her. Aurora began to wonder which house the girl would be sorted in, thinking that she seemed like a Hufflepuff in her niceness, however there was a Ravenclaw trait about her that made Aurora slightly unsure.

The window, which gave an openness into the small compartment, was showing the outside world which was quickly passing them by as the train's high speed gave no chance to see the view in detail. The trees turned into green blobs, and the blue sky remained persistent in its vibrancy. Aurora felt warm in her compartment, pleasantly surrounded by girls which she quickly took a liking to. This was the best way Aurora could have been welcomed on her first journey to Hogwarts, and she was forever grateful she could spend it with these girls.

Lorelei smiled at the blonde girl who introduced herself as Aurora and slid into a seat. She shivered a bit and pulled her robes around her as she sat down.

"Thank you" she said, grateful. "I'm Lorelei. 1st year. My mum's a witch, but my dad's a muggle, and I've spent most of my time in the muggle world. Most of the time I've spent in the wizarding world until recently was with family, and none of my cousins are at Hogwarts right now." She shifted in the seat, holding her book in her lap. "I'm rather excited about a new school. Since I had to hide a good portion of my life at my old muggle school I never really got close to most people. I don't have to be as careful with what I talk about at Hogwarts. I'm kinda nervous too though. I've never been to a wizarding school. keeping hold of her book with one hand, she brushed some of her hair out of her face. She glanced out the window, not expecting to be able to make much of the scenery outside. She turned back to the others. "What about you? What're you looking forward to at Hogwarts?" she asked, studying the three other girls.

Aurora nodded along as the girl began introducing herself. She talked about her parents and family, and how she had spent most of her life exposed to the muggle world. She also mentioned how she was excited she could finally find friends and talk about the wizarding world without having to worry, and Aurora knew exactly the feeling she was describing, as she had felt it herself.

"I felt the exact same way at my muggle school. It's so hard not to talk about magic, especially since it's such a large part of who we are." Aurora explained. She was glad someone else understood her, and was relieved that she wasn't the only one who had felt like that. "To be honest, I'm quite nervous too, but I think Hogwarts is going to be great. So many people describe it as the best time of their lives, and I hope it will be for me too." Aurora was slightly anxious that her high expectations for life at Hogwarts would lead her to disappointment, but she decided to keep her hope ignited. "I'm excited for the classes, and getting to learn subjects that I actually have a passion for. Also meeting new friends, such as yourselves." She smiled at the other girls.

"So, what house do you think you'll be sorted into? I was just telling the Hildegard and Katie that I think I'll either be Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, but you never know what the sorting hat will decide." Aurora thought into the future and what it would be like to have the famous sorting hat placed on her head. She anticipated about what he would have to say about her, and hoped she would get either one of the houses she wanted.

-Muggles, muggles, muggles ! Hildegard was repeating to herself as she was listening to their conversation.

-Muggles are super scary ! One instant they want to be like us wizard, the other instant they want to make grilled marshmallow with the help of your body ! The girl thought to herself.

As for the rest of the conversation she was also wondering in which house she would be sorted in.

-N...no way I get sorted into Gryffindor. She told them.

I...I don't think I fit any houses a...anyway, the sorting hat won't know where to put me ! I...I believe She said with all seriousness.

What she was saying was actually the thing she was the most scared about in the moment, as she honestly did not know which house she would be sorted to she may had feel like her fears were exaggerated.

-A..and i want to learn broom riding first, because... Ugh n...nevermind ! maybe charm too.

-Why Hildegard...They will eventually know it anyway you stupid !

She took a look at Lorelei, that girl could talk a lots she thought to herself.
After a few second she realized that Aurora already considered them friends.

-A..Aurora you already consider us as friends ? Hildegard asked innocently.

I consider us friends. Katie said back, even though she hadn't been formally asked. Though as for houses, I think I'd like Slytherin. If not though, I'd settle for Ravenclaw. she added, responding to Aurora's question. I wouldn't want Gryffindor though. I have nothing against Gryffindors, but I'm quite introverted, and I've heard that the Gryffindors can be quite loud and noisy. I think that'd overwhelm me. Katie added, honestly.

Do you think the sorting hat take your preference into account? Katie asked. She kinda hoped it did, because she thought she'd prefer Slytherin to Ravenclaw of the two houses, but she wouldn't argue with the hat if it out her elsewhere. Except maybe Gryffindor. Katie just really couldn't see how that'd be a really good fit for her.

Katie glanced out the window. The Hogwarts express was rushing past trees, such that it all looked like a whirl of dark green with a little bit of light blue and tiny streaks of white up above the trees. It was quite beautiful to her. The cozyness of their compartment engulfed her as she gazed out the window.

Her parents, while pure-bloods, hadn't told her man stories of their years at Hogwarts. After her letter had arrived, she'd hoped they'd tell her more about what was to come and what their experience had been like like, but no. They seemed to be oblivious of her desire, and she wouldn't dare ask, for fear of unintentionally upsetting them. She tried her best not to upset them. Katie really did.

Katie's mind drifted back to the sorting hat. She snorted loudly as she thought of arguing with the hat. It was probably pretty moronic to argue with an inanimate object. Katie giggled to herself.

-I...I don't want to consider someone I just met as friend already ! I..I mean i value what a friend is too much ! She replied to Katie.

As she realized what she said might annoy some of them and make her some futur enemies she immediately added.

I...I'm sorry I don't mean to offend anyone !

As she was listening to what Katie was saying about Gryffindor she reacted after the girl was done speaking :

-Gryffindor and Slytherin are scaring me... I heard they were rival, so if i get sorted in one of them I...I might get the other house to act badly towards me...

She then reacted to the other part of Katie's little speech.

-I don't know if he will, but if he did not it would be pretty mean from him, I..I think ! The future Slytherin replied to the little witch.

Hum are you okay Katie ???! Hildegard asked her as she saw Katie snort loudly.
Getting scared yet again all of a sudden thinking about all the scary thing that could have happened to her fellow car partner.
She got up as fast as her limping leg allowed her to and oriented herself toward Katie in case she needed some help.

Lorelei smiled "I'm good with being friends if you all are" Hildegard mentioned she didn't want to consider people friends too quickly
"That's fine" Lorelei said, "I understand wanting to get to know people before giving out the title of friend." Aurora asked her where she thought she'd be sorted, and Lorelei thought for a moment before replying "Probably Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. Most of my Mom's family have been in those two, and she's often told my dad that he'd've made a good Hufflepuff if he were a wizard. Mum always said the hat takes preference into account, but that doesn't mean you'll get it" she said, adressing Katie's question."Like, say you really want Hufflepuff, and you make that clear to the hat, but it doesn't think you'd fit in Hufflepuff, and it sees you would do better in say, Griffindor, then it will probably put you in Griffindor. But, if the hat think ls you would do well in either Griffindor or Hufflepuff, and you perfer Hufflepuff, then it might put you in Hufflepuff. Supposedly it also goes for if there's a house you're solidly against. One of my mom's cousin's was at school around the same time as Harry Potter, and he said there was a rumor that the hat nearly put him - Harry Potter I mean - in Slytherin, but didn't because he didn't want to be Slytherin. It was just a rumor though, so I'm not sure."

WILL YOU SHUT UP ?! Hildegard screamed to Lorelei in the heat of the moment as she still believed something important maybe horrible had happened to Katie.

-K..Katie are you alright ? She asked to Katie yet again, still worried that something might have happened.

Maybe there was a dementor hidden somewhere or something, Hildegard fears made her a bit paranode sometimes.

-I...I'm sorry... I mean look at Katie !

As Hildegard looked to Katie with more focus she noticed that she actually was fine, and even if she still ignored what led Katie to do that she did, Hildegard calmed down, limping back to her close by seat while sighing.

-Why...Why are you all doing everything to scare me !!! The girl thought to herself.

-S...sorry...Lorelei the girl from Germany said again.

Hildegard was feeling really bad at how she treated the girl who did not ask for anything.
But worst she was now scared as hell to the reaction of everyone, just trembling even more than before. She was imagining them insulting her, maybe physically warming her who knows.
Tears almost appeared under her eyes, she may have to travel all the way to Hogwarts while being scared to death.

Lorelei fliched when Hildegard snapped at her. She visibly shrunkdown, nervous.

"I just answered her question" she said defensivly, trying to make herself smaller "I'm sorry if I started rambling, it's a bad habit." she tensed up, suddenly worried she'd done something wrong.

She turned to Katie, "Are you okay? I thought that was a laugh, I'm sorry if I was inconsiderate" she apologized, sheepishly. She ducked her head, looking at the book in her lap, silently cursing herself.
Never assume. Never assume she berated herself in her head. She glanced up when Hildegard said sorry.
"It's okay, you're right. I'm sorry. I made an assumption that she laughed and proceeded to answer her question. I probably should have thought more. It just sounded a lot like when one of my cousins laughs, they snort like that and I didn't think anything of it." she winced, "Sorry, I'm rambling again."
She clenched one hand in a fist, digging her fingernails into her palms. Her knuckles pressed into the fabric train seat, then she opend her hand, flipping her palm down on the seat, clutching the edge, feeling bad that she accidentally caused a fight with someone she barely even knew.

Yeah, I'm alright. Katie muttered. In truth, she was alright. She had laughed a bit at the concept of arguing with a hat, but now it seemed so meaningless and pointless. Katie's never been find of loud noises, because she associated them with her parents frustrated about work and taking it out on the rest of the family at the dinner table. It wasn't personal, but it was unpleasant to be eating while her dad ranted at the silver ware at how upset he was that someone didn't vote for his bill or something in the Wizengamot. Katie still wasn't sure what she wanted to do for a career, but it wasn't politics. No matter how much her parents wanted get to be the minister, Katie simply wasn't interested.

It doesn't matter, can we just not yell? I'm not fond of loud noises. Katie asked, adding her aversion to loudness in, in hopes that her newfound train buddies would understand. Katie didn't feel like ranting or talking a lot. She was quite introverted, and it took someone special to really get her to open up and start talking. She'd ramble a bit when she was nervous of course, but it'd be about meaningless things you might tell a random wizard on a bus. Nothing personal. She simply was shy and introverted. She did have hopes for becoming closer to these girls though.
