[font=times new roman]“I’m in my second year. Hufflepuff.” she offered. “What about you? Second year also, I guess?” She had a beautiful speaking voice. “You’d be correct,” he replied in response to her question asking if he were a second year. “I’m a Slytherin,” he said, with maybe a little bit too much pride. It was his mother’s house after all, and he loved her very much. It was really the only way they were similar.

She was kind, he was cold. She was an athlete, he was (certainly) not. The only thing they had in common was that they were both Slytherins. And they both loved each other very much. Wyatt really missed her. He looked down at the piano for a moment and tried to get back the feeling that he had a few seconds ago. His mood swings nowadays happened quite quickly. This one didn’t last very long though, not with Lindsey there.

It was hard for Wyatt to tell whether it was that Lindsey somehow made him feel happy or if he just didn’t want to look all sad in front of her. Maybe it was both. Either way, it made him uncomfortable. The odd feeling of uncertainty. Wyatt had a feeling that he was going to embarrass himself one way or another if he were to keep talking. He swallowed and stood up, walking around the piano bench.

He couldn’t just leave though. He needed a reason. “It’s getting quite late… supper might be starting in a bit.” He felt like it might be around that time, though he didn’t have a watch. Wyatt turned and faced Lindsey, wearing a small, sad smile. “I hope to see you soon.” With that, he headed for the door, his footsteps echoing throughout the empty ballroom. When he got to the door, he gave Lindsey one last look and then walked out.

He felt bad for leaving, he truly did, but he was so confused. There was something about Lindsey that made him care about how he was perceived by her. He was terrified he’d screw it up, or she’d find out how much of a bad person Wyatt really was from one of her friends. But he wanted to see her again, even though he’d just left. He resisted the urge to walk back and have a real conversation and carried on toward the Slytherin common room.

Sorry to end it here! I'm trying to focus all my attention on the
Hunt. When that's done, we should definitely plan another thread!
A thread in which they just go on a nice date. A date uninterrupted
by a ghost on a horse.

Slytherin? Sounded…nice. To be honest, Lindsey really didn’t mind which house her friends were in. There’s no prejudice, you may say. The Springhalls were Ravenclaws, at least she was told so, though most of her friends were from other houses. Ravenclaws seemed disappeared on the earth according to her own life experiences.

Though the snakes survived. Lindsey had always found herself connected with Slytherin. Maybe that was just a coincidence, or maybe she was just born so. A Hufflepuff and a Slytherin. Sounded intriguing, didn’t it? But clearly that was what she was doing right now. What’s more, the longer time she spent him, the wish to get to know him more grew. No. She couldn’t stay anymore. Her head and heart would explode.

Chocolate brown gaze turned to the floor. She couldn’t think of anything to say, which was definitely weird. Maybe this boy had some sorts of magic apart from the ones she, along with other students, learned in Hogwarts. And maybe this magic only appealed to her. Yes, it must be magic that she found herself so weirdly attracted to him.

“It’s getting quite late… supper might be starting in a bit.” she heard his voice started. Head suddenly raised. Carelessly sweeping some golden brown curls to her back, soft chocolate brown eyes rested again on the boy. “Indeed.” she murmured in a voice as she was still in a dream. He faced her. And brown eyes immediately turned to the floor again.

“I hope to see you soon.” The voice made her lifted her eyes up again. Was…was he leaving? In such a short time? Hopefully not. Hopefully she could stay with him for a little bit longer. She just wished to get to know him, really. But there he went. He left. She was now alone in the grand ballroom.

“Me too.” she muttered to her own self. And then firmly she raised up her head. “I hope to see you again as well.” these words were addressed to Wyatt, or to no one, as, nobody was listening. Glancing around one last time, she walked out of the room and headed back to the Huffle common room.

Upon stepping out, she heard some portraits giggling in a low voice. Lindsey frowned. But still, firmly she stepped out. The evening she spent with Wyatt was nice. Very nice. It was definitely a evening to remember. Speaking of Wyatt…maybe she could meet him tomorrow, or maybe, she’d never see him again. Or maybe they would just be acquaintances, not even friends. Lindsey had already regarded him as a friend, but she didn’t know about his feelings. Maybe they would disappear from each other’s fairytales after this encounter. Maybe…

She didn’t know.
