He confirmed they were thinking the same thing. She nodded at his choice of book, a simple expression of her agreement. It was a book they both had access to, so there would be no issue finding identical copies, and it had plenty of magic-related words they could use if needed. It sounded like a good choice, at least, though she supposed she'd only know that for sure when it came time to write anything in the cipher.

"And whatever new information I learn I'll be sure to tell you." Something about having another connection, another set of eyes out there, was reassuring. Whatever was happening to Hogwarts was much bigger than her, after all, and the more help she had, the better. She still wasn't sure it was enough, but it was something. The more pieces to the puzzle they had, the closer they would get to solving it, right?

She returned his smile and copied him as he returned to the book he'd been reading when she'd arrived. Not to her surprise, the book she'd picked out didn't really contain any new information, but it wasn't quite so frustrating with his company. Besides, she had new things to process and had perhaps already gotten closer to figuring all this out from their conversation.

Sometime later, she closed the book she was working on and reached for the slip of paper. She had the title he'd recommended pretty much memorized, but leaving out a drawing of Marion's mark didn't seem like the best idea. "See you around, Sylvain." Getting up from her seat, she gave him a small wave as she put her book away and headed off to some other part of the castle, glad she'd found him.
