Two Birds, No Stone
Four games, Miranda marvelled. That sounds amazing. I wonder how much time each one lasted. She opened her mouth to ask, but then closed it again and listened as Margaret continued talking instead.
"They must be really good, then," Miranda said as Margaret told her about the Durstrang team's record of winning without the snitch. "In most games I've read about, catching the snitch is an auto-win, since most teams can't get the necessary points to rival the ones gained by catching it. If Durmstrang can, though, and they're only students...well, that's actually super good."
She listened as Margaret finished up her speech, then added on the end a repeat to her earlier words about being excited, although this time she also asked if Miranda wanted to go with her and see if there was anything else to do outside.
"Other things?" Miranda echoed, temporarily taken off guard by the quick change of subject. "You're right, I didn't think of that. I heard something about a trip into London or something earlier, but didn't think much of it. Do you think there are maybe other things to do here, well, other than that?" She didn't really expect an answer, since her question had been mainly rhetorical, but if Margaret answered, she wouldn't mind.

"I think there may be some people doing other sports around camp or some people might be racing around on brooms or playing a mini quidditch game that would be cool to watch or maybe participate." Margaret replied "sorry I think you were going to say something before I started talking. Sorry if I'm talking too much. What were you going to say?" Margaret asked, closing her mouth and telling herself not to say anything else until Miranda was done.
Margaret shook her head at herself, well she did in her head she didn't want to send Miranda the message that she was shaking her head at her. Margaret felt so stupid; she didn't always talk this much but recently around Miranda it had become a habit. She usually never cut people off but if she did she would just ask them what they were going to say before she blabbered on but it was usually other people that cut someone off and she would ask them what they were about to say, but this time it was her. She was so embarrassed about blabbering on and being so selfish. But eventually, she shrugged it off and figured it'd be fine.

"A miniature Quiditch game sounds fun," Miranda agreed. "It would be good practice, too, in case people try it and decide they want to sign up to play on their house team. Or they've tried it before. Yeah, that would work too." She trailed off and smiled faintly, although her thoughts weren't quite focused on the present. In the end, she only barely heard what Margaret said next. "I was saying something? Wait...oh, right. Actually it doesn't matter much, but I was going to ask how long the games you'd gone to lasted. I've read that there have been some that lasted months, while other last only minutes. It's quite...unpredictable."
Miranda shrugged, trying to act like she didn't really care. For some reason, Margaret seemed flustered, which only made Miranda even more shy. Was she doing something wrong? Years of never matching her parent's standards made her worry more than usual. She had yet to shrug off the negative parts of her parent's influence, even after an entire year at Hogwarts.
In the back of her mind, Miranda found herself wondering what it would be like when she returned to her home after the camp. Would she get along better with her parents? Would they notice her now that she could control her magic? Or would nothing have changed, other than her?
ReducioOOC: Sorry for the terribly late reply! I lost this post in a slew of notifications. If I don't reply within three days the next time, feel free to owl me just in case.

"Hmmm, good question," Margaret said thinking back, "I think the longest one I've ever been to took 2 days to finish, almost three, and the shortest one took about 2 hours. I really like log games, quidditch to me is like baseball, it's not stupidly complicated, like soccer (soccer fo British people since Hogwarts is in the UK) but it's complicated enough to not be a dumb or extremely childish game, like tag, and you can talk a leave for a few seconds and stretch or something and usually, you won't miss much, you know it's pretty easy t catch up but it's fun to watch especially if they do a cool stunt or something. So in other words, t's basically the best sport." Margaret rambled happily.
"I wonder if they'll shoot off fireworks or anything at night, sometimes they do. I love the side things they do during quidditch games, like mini-games, fireworks, other things like that. I'm going to see if anything is going on right now, you can stay here if you want but I'm just going to walk around. I'll probably be back soon if you don't come," Margaret reassured with a smile.
She also grabbed her book, as she always did, in case she wanted to read outside and found a cool spot to read, but this was also just a habit to always bring a book.

"Baseball?" Miranda echoed. "Soccer?" She'd obviously known she was quite ignorant on Muggle topics, but this was getting ridiculous. By the way Margaret spoke of these things, they were obviously supposed to be common knowledge, but Miranda didn't have a clue as to what they meant. Another one of her shortcomings when it came to researching the muggle world. Sometimes it made her wish she'd been a muggle-born. At least then she couldn't have had to deal with the prejudice many half-bloods or muggle-borns held for the so-called superior pure-bloods. Not that Miranda would ever think her blood status counted toward how other were supposed to view her, at least not in an equal world, but she'd heard such things being thrown around before, sometimes as an excuse, and sometimes as an insult.
"I think I heard something about a game of Capture the Flag," Miranda interjected thoughtfully, struggling to remember the list she'd been given at the start of camp listing the majority of the camp activities. "And a trip into London for a museum. There were more though, I just can't remember all of them right now."
Miranda, who was already standing, set her book on a table. Then she picked it back up again. Maybe she could go find a tree later on and read. Everything was so much more peaceful up in the air, suspended by a net of branches. Not much could compare to that feeling of freedom and peace.

"Alright, see you soon then, I think I might go read a bit, come back to the tent and then go to the capture the flag game, that sounds cool," Margaret said, opening the flap that loud out of the tent "see you soon," she said ducking to leave the tent.
She was excited to see Miranda for the first time in a long time. Miranda was really one of her only friends so she was usually pretty bored or sometimes lonely so she was glad to finally have something exciting to do. She took her book to some rocks outside the camp but soon she realized that she shouldn't be wasting time reading, she could do that at home, instead, she should go have fun in the magical world while she still could.
She quickly finished the paragraph and ran back to the tent and set her book down. She tied a jacket around her waist (just in case) and quickly ran out to the fields where they playing capture the flag.
She shook her head jokingly at herself for being so stupid to waste time on books when she could do that at home when instead she should enjoy her time out, playing capture the flag.
